Married At First Sight - Season 2 - Ryan DeNino - Jessica Castro - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I think that picture is maybe taken when the Honeymoon was over and they were packing. She is sitting next to a suitcase. I would hope she doesn't have to keep her clothes in a suitcase, now.

Kind of confusing. If you look on her instagram all her linens are light colored - picture of her cat in bed, etc. When we saw the clips the sheets are dark. Different styles. Hard to tell with these two. The clip they showed early on had them in the same clothes that they have on during the alleged "decision night." In that clip they are playful together. And their favorite color seems to be gray. Also interesting Q&A from Ryan on FYI. I feel like there is something in Ryan's background that makes him they way he is and that there is regret. Seems to be trying to break out of a cycle. I get the same vibe from Jessica. I actually think that if they can both see beyond their own needs they might be good together. Also interesting in his Q&A -it's important to him that there is trust and that seems to be the one thing Jessica cannot do.

ITA at the moment, from what we've seen, Jessica will totally be settling if she stays with Ryan. The only thing he has going for him is that he is handsome. Jessica on the other hand is positive supportive, caring and sweet. If they do stay together, at least the show would have clearly highlighted the fact that he totally lucked out in the match.

Always keep in mind that the editors are playing with us. He talks about how he was upset with something being made public. Maybe there is stuff that he does not want to talk about on camera. I think that Jessica agreed to try new things and Ryan relied on it. Perhaps he is not quite as sensitive as he should be but it can amplified by the cameras and by the fact that Cilona warned us he was edgy. Think about the fact that they went snorkeling and she came back almost immediately. He did not seem to pout or get accusatory about her not trying. I agree that he appears to do things that are not ok and seems not to care. On the other hand, he may just be a veritable treasure trove of sound bites and FYI and A&E are capitalizing on that trait.

Jadeh -- How true. Of course they're twisting everything around; keeps us watching. JMHO.

@ Jadeh, Ok like I said we have more than half the episodes left so I'm hoping I will see in him some of the qualities that should be in a husband. But for the moment he just isn't doing it for me. Fortunately I'm not married to the guy so I'm hoping Jess will make the best decision for her.

They look so nice together in the clip above. Very normal. And he isn't acting up in front of their parents. Also he knows he lucked out on the match and I'm glad he is speaking about it.

I found this interesting though:

During filming, Castro said that she “blocked the cameras out sometimes, because when you think that they’re there and they’re watching you, you freak out, you get nervous, and you don’t want it to come off as unnatural. You know, this is your life, it’s all real, none of it is fake.”

For her, the experiment was all about just being herself. “Don’t put up a front for anyone or anything. The only way you can truly go through the motions of this process is just to be yourself.”

She loved working with all of the experts, but psychologist Cilona helped her with communication, which she calls her “biggest downfall.”

“[Cilona] gave us some exercises, and when we met with him it was an eye-opener for both of us, like, we both want this and we really just have to put our best foot forward to make this work.”


I thought they would get help from him.  I guess time will tell if it helped.

Small details.

In the decision day clip; Jessica is wearing gray (Ryan's favourite color) and he seems to be wearing black (which I think is Jessica's favourite color to wear). I don't think a divorced couple would do that. or maybe I'm reading too much into it. ...

Maybe ... who knows, right? Fun to speculate.

But it did appear on last night's episode that these two are really committed to working through their issues and made some solid progress that had them both pleased over the holidays. So that's a good sign ... time will tell.

I find it really interesting that the experts allow Jessica to enter into a marriage with so much emotional baggage. She appears to relate things that Ryan does or say to her those of her exes. Imo, that's not a very good way to start a marriage. I know that Ryan has some issues, but Jessica's emotions seem to be all over the place. I really hope that she gets some effective counseling to help her let go of her past issues and relate to Ryan has himself and not her past exes. Jmo.
