Bachelor 19 - Becca Tilly #4

I honestly think the viewing public see Whitney as F1 because she has been front and centre with regards to chemistry. Becca on other hand was not on anyone's mind and even twitter was like Becca who? The sleuther and avid watchers are the ones seeing the connection with Becca. Everyone asked has penned Whitney as the winner celebrities and Bach family alike

Becca wasn't on my radar initially. I believed the spoilers and watched with detachment because what I was seeing made Chris a very uninteresting person. He seemed like someone I wouldn't wish on any of the contestants. Then he was on a 1-1 with Becca and I suddenly saw a different Chris. He bloomed in front of me, becoming warm and vibrant. I had to go back and re-watch his earlier scenes with Becca, and saw 'it' had been there all along, just had been tucked into the background and obscured.

It was exactly what I had experienced with Des and Chris -being gobsmacked. I remember pming Murasaki about Chres and saying 'holy cow, I see now what you've been saying all along.'

We all see through our own filters - I'm not trying to change anyone's mind at all, and know I can easily be Fleissed (has happened more than once!) - but this is just what I have viewed.

Becca's new profile pic on twitter has her in a new leather jacket from KB Casuals. That is a very upscale, expensive store. I can't imagine her being able to afford the clothes there on a chiropractic assistant's salary?  Some of her dresses for the RCs were from Forever 21 and others borrowed from sister and friends.  So do we need to think about where she got a windfall? Things that make us go hmmm..?

I mean Chris seems to be the type to spoil his lady.

Interesting. Because the way I perceive it, is that TPTB is showing us a lot of "chemistry" with Becca, but then they are downplaying it with the talking scenes, where she is shown not much enthusiastic (although in episodes 3 and 4 when she wasn't much noticed, they did insert some of her cheerful comments about her attraction to Chris), they keep showing B&C conversations where Becca is questioning her feelings, obscuring their connection, inserting doubts whether that's real, strong enough for someone inexperienced like her ... TPTB really placed so many words as connotations for Becca, that most media I've read around (I don't know about the general public, because haven't read SM much further than this forum) - including people in public eye who comment on the show - see the chemistry and connection with Whitney and completely dismiss Becca (as if they wouldn't be even close enough).

That's my impression as well. Everywhere I look I see people saying Whitney has been a done deal since their first date and Becca is just a default F2, because of her virgin hook. So TPTB can't be doing a very good job of promoting the chemistry between Chris and Becca, since only a few see it.

I don't think he talks about Becca way less, he just mostly talks about what's shown in episodes and Becca has been shown a lot less than Whitney. There are some additional tidbits about both, like mentioning the connection with Becca during the mud run and it being her birthday on the HTD and him giving her presents. He didn't have to tell us about the presents, he chose to do it. And Becca seems to still be wearing a necklace that looks a lot like the one he gave her, so things like that do make me go hmmm...

As much as he talks about the dates with Whitney, he spends most of those words describing what they were doing, because they did have some action packed dates. When it comes to Becca, however, he talks about their connection and how he feels about her and their time together etc. It just reads more personal to me. Maybe you see it differently, but that's the impression I get.

Ok, I just took a poll of my colleagues at work, they are all unspoiled, and they all said the edit clearly shows Whitney as the F1. Most said the mural made it clear that it was Whitney, and also that he is more relaxed and playful around her. They all agreed he has chemistry with only Whitney, one thought his chemistry with Jade was the best! Don't know if this should be here, but I just read the conversation trail, and adding the feedback I got.

I think Whitney is the chemistry and the overconfident F2 edit, IMO. But you would only know this if you followed the show. Unless you started watching in week 6, you would totally believe it was all Whitney. I don't see a chemistry edit with Becca, because they show us actual conversation with them. Even their chemistry is very PG, not even PG 13. The hand dancing is fun to watch, but it isn't nearly the over the top making out and hands everywhere we usually see from an F2 chemistry edit. Others have pointed out, Whitney called first at every RC where she doesn't already have a rose. Whitney talking about their engagement on the boat. It has been the Whitney and Britt show up until Britt left. Both of Becca's 1:1 dates were incredibly spliced and diced to show the Britt and Kelsey drama.

I get the same sweet feeling with Becca and Chris as I got from Des and Chris. I totally believed Des's spoilers, but I said during the season it was too bad that Brooks was on the show because Des's subconscious was so comfortable with Chris. It was like everything but her stupid, stubborn, love should be butterflies and make you feel insecure side kept yelling at her, Chris is it. Just like Chris's gut and soul wouldn't let him say goodbye to Becca, knowing she was supposedly going to tell Brooks she loved him and only him, Des was all over Chris on their FD. I think sometimes the head is saying one thing and the heart and your subconscious say something else. Choosing with my head rarely turned out well for me. If your heart and your soul don't feel it then the love won't succeed IMO.

Here's the thing: Obviously sex is an important part of a relationship, and I'm not a virgin. Waiting until marriage was never part of my plan. But that doesn't mean that my future wife has to share that philosophy. Becca being a virgin was simply not a deal-breaker for me. If the chemistry is there, that's all that matters.

Talking to Becca really settled my heart. Neither of us had stopped think about each other, and to hear her say that she was definitely falling in love with me was all I needed to hear – that and knowing that she hadn't taken Arlington off the table. I felt in my gut, in my soul, that I couldn't say goodbye to that girl.

I also think the most people won't believe he'd actually pick "The Virgin" pure and simple. I really hate being on the same side of anything Kris Jenner who said he'll definitely pick the "non-virgin" that also REALLY makes me still hold some hope is Becca

... me too.  I only went back to watch Becca's time with Chris after HTD - that was an eye-opening for me. I was skipping through the episodes, that I'm still discovering bits and pieces of Becca's PIs or whatever they are called and catching her talk, since I thought she wasn't shown at all, but TPTB very cleverly inserted her scenes at the most insignificant moments, so if I wouldn't search for it specifically, I wouldn't have seen the progression.

I'm trying to read between the lines here.
1) I keep comming back to the dark horse and the #2 could it possibly mean as to something along the lines of. Beccas date was #2? That Becca won. And that he has made his choice. And be telling ppl that she is the unexpected win?
I don't know, but the FRC can not get here quick enough.

That's true! People are complaining about her (AKA the show) making a big deal out of her virginity, when in fact they themselves think it's a total deal-breaker for a man Chris's age. Ridiculous. The same people also call her immature, when she's acting most mature out of anyone left, IMO. It's like being a virgin automatically makes you a little girl despite how you behave. Despite saying she's never been in love, she has been in at least one long-term relationship and seemed to be going on dates a few months before filming started as well. It's not like she's never had a boyfriend, she just hasn't met The One.
