Despite all the other distractions last night, Chris gave a nod to Whitney several times.  It was great that he gave her the GDR since the RC went so badly. She had some assurance that she was on his mind.  It does seem that they have bonded more than the edits reveal.   Glad he confirmed in his blog that he is happy he gave her the rose especially after seeing the show.

I noticed that when they were getting on the raft, Chris asked Whitney if he could help her in and he helped into the boat and both sat up front.

Chris' VO about the raft trip:  "Everyone looks great, Whit is across the bow from me . . . One thing I wouldn't be mad if I had to be rescued by Whitney."

At the group date with GDR rose:  "There is a rose, on this date it means a lot to me as they all do, tonight's rose goes to someone who has a way of making me feel special and not only that but I truly feel she is here for the right reasons and I am excited about our potential   . . ."

Thanks for the recap MD! It's almost as if they spliced it so we couldn't hear, I thought maybe it was just me.

She was very happy to get that rose. You could tell she was excited.

As far as Chris, it has been obvious from the beginning how gaga he gets when he's with her.

I think this is just confirming to me that there was a very strong connection from the start and we are getting an overload of the crazy to hide it since it is clear Chris can't.

Because TPTB have lost control of their show by letting spoilers get out and RS has become the "go to" guy for answers about the entire season.  For some reason they can't shut RS up (or don't want to) and have decided to make lemonade out of lemons by showing us everything else but a love story.

ITA. CH said either pre season or when the show started airing that Chris wore his heart on his sleeve and that they had to "work around that."

Obviously the group date folks spent several hours out on the river, so I imagine every single girl got to have at least a brief conversation with Chris. I think it happens on all the group dates, just to varying degrees. And I also think his connection with Whitney is sustained well enough for now.
