I hope Chris is spending a lot of time wooing Whitney at the moment, and that the unequal playing field gets balanced. I feel like his mom and sisters would be active in encouraging this (hopefully).

Which while I'm at it, I think was no accident that there just happened to be a wedding going on and Whitney just happened to suggest crashing it. Things on this show really don't happen by accident. Whitney has an optimistic, sparkling and charismatic personality and I think she would be the life of any party she went to - as she was on that date and as she was with Chris's friends in Des Moines. I think the producers wanted to make sure that Chris had the chance to see that about her so they setup a situation where that could happen. Though it's only short term thing, DWTS could be seen as a lot like the wedding date - at least the social experience with the other stars and the pros is.

I think the reason why she's been laying low is because she knows that in a matter of a week, there will be NO privacy and lots of expectations placed on her to be active. She's probably enjoying a quiet few months, knowing that the bustle won't subside for a while.

Obviously I'm not surprised to hear confirmation of my instinct that this was a date planned well in advance, but I'm also not surprised to learn it was sleuthed out to be a planned date - which I had not known when I posted.

When they were talking at the winery, Whitney asked Chris what he was looking for. He told her he wants someone that can "roll the cob", someone that can go into a crowd and turn to Joe Blow that you don't know and have a conversation. Next thing you know, they are crashing a wedding and Whitney is taking to a bunch of total strangers. I remember as I watched, thinking there was no way that was "spontaneous".
