There's no pulling a fast one over Chris Harrison! The longtime Bachelor host, who's seen dozens upon dozens of couples live happily ever after and others fall apart, said he knew something was not right between Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray before their split announcement on Jan. 8.


"I knew things were a little off," Harrison, 43, told Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Jan. 20. "They were being a little awkward and weird. But you know, they're from Georgia. You know those people." (Both Dorfman and Murray lived in Atlanta, Ga., before their season of The Bachelorette aired.)

Harrison, however, was equally stunned as the rest of the country when the couple announced they were done, days after attending the season 19 Bachelor premiere together. "After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it's best for both of us to go our separate ways," the reality stars said in their joint statement

"A) I was shocked and B) I was a little disappointed," the veteran TV host noted, "because I wish they just said something to me."

Harrison's main concern, however, was Dorfman and Murray's well-being. "I never would’ve put them in that awkward of a position," he recalled of the Bachelor premiere. "And talked about their wedding date had I known they were on the rocks."


In the interim after their split, Murray, 30, alluded to his faith in a now-deleted Instagram post. Dorfman, 27, meanwhile, broke her silence this past weekend, sharing an empowering message about her support network. "It's family and friends who pick us up when we fall down," the season 10 Bachelorette wrote. "And if they can't pick us up, they lie down next to us and just listen and love."


Harrison told Seacrest on Tuesday that he and Dorfman have been in touch. "I’ve talked to Andi," he said, "but I’ve talked to her as a friend. I wasn’t pumping her for information. But hopefully, I’ll sit down with one or both of them at some point."

What an insulting comment to the people of Georgia. Maybe someone wanted CH to look like a fool too or maybe he's fibbing like he seems to do well.

Yes, it was.  Thank you, GA.  I'm a native Atlantan and that was a ridiculous statement by CH.

Of course, I didn't hear his inflection, etc...but I took it as a flip comment...that he had to find something 'witty' to say, not that he really meant it.

It seems some may not be reading all pages, or catching up on threads.

Ryan Seacrest is from Georgia so I'm guessing it was a joke. We'd probably hear a joking tone if we listened.

I took it as teasing Ryan, it was Chris' "i'm trying to be the funniest guy here" voice. The audio is on Ryan's radio show website

Yes, Ryan's a native Atlantan, too.  I'm sure they were laughing about it. Still don't like it in print.
