professionally (contra Jake Pavelka).

Jason's was closed because they filmed in unexpectantly early in December, and to save the shock of the big switcheroo. Ali's is the only one they have closed since I have been watching this (Palmer) where everything has gone according to plan. It seems obvious that they only reason they closed hers was that the secret had held and the spoilers were almost all "Roberto or no one" Ali did a fine job in interviews selling the fact that she likely walked away alone. They know MTA and ATFR are going to leak. Tells me they know they are out of surprises. If the f1 turns out to be Ben, they know it would leak in minutes. Makes me think that everyone already knows.

Not that it matters, but Jason's was filmed unexpectedly on January 18 or thereabouts. Don't know why I remember that (and no, I'm not proud of it). It was more than a month earlier than it would have normally filmed, then they shot a Part 2 closer to the end of the show's airing.

Thanks, Sushifan. I couldn't remember but thought there was talk about them planting actors in the audience. I think they often make it look worse with the person not picked although Kiptyn came across really well. So did they drill it into you not to tell anyone and threaten you with a huge lawsuit?

On to HTDs. What time did JP's start? Maybe, due to scheduling issues, it started in the morning, while the other dates started in the afternoon. And if his date ended just before sunset and Ben's ended just after sunset, it may have been a difference of only a couple of hours at most. And something else that nobody's mentioned on any of these dates, is how much time is actually spent with Ashley vs on long breaks with the crew setting up or finagling with the shot, or pulling the people aside to give PIs and whatnot. Some of those dates may have taken hours and hours, but more due to production "issues" than because the couple was spending extra quality time together.

I am a few pages behind, so y'all might be on to something else here, but I wanted to comment on the bolded. When Ashley and JP were sitting at the roller skating rink, I could clearly see on JP's watch that it was 10:30!!! I was stunned that they would start so early in the day, as they had already done a lot by that time. I am guessing they met up at 0830 hrs, so their date did turn out to be quite long. Sorry for the interruption, now back to your regularly scheduled topic of the day. :D Thanks

Someone looked on the time stamp of the pics from JP's and Ben's dates and they both started at the same time so Ben's was longer. I thought JP's watch showed 11:30 a.m. when she greeted him but it was fast. They went to his parent's house around 3 p.m. and she probably left around 6 or so. They cut out Ben & Ashley riding bikes to Sonoma to shop for their picnic and the actual picnic before it rained. Shopping was before noon with the winery tour afterward, the picnic was around 2 p.m. and they walked into his mom's at 7 so there was a lot of time together we didn't see.

I wish I could do a screen caps. Hope someone can help out. After their initial greeting when JP is explaining they are going to do something he did as a kid growing up (1 hour 17 minutes) they turn and we see them holding hands his watch says 8:15. My guess is that if they were not at the roller rink until later that they were walking around doing something else and just didn't show it. It is interesting that right before she finds out what they are going to be doing she said "To be honest, I don't care what we are doing today. As long as we are together. I could walk down the street for 3 hours and be just as happy as doing something extravagant." To the bolds I would think if it was 11:30 she would have said this afternoon, not today, and walking down the street for 3 hours may have been what they did before bowling. Not literally walking for 3 hours, but maybe stopping in to get coffee and/or breakfast and just talking.

There are planted actors in the audience, definitely. I could tell who they were because they had FULL faces of makeup on -- the amount you need if you're going to be on TV. They put them in certain seats where the cameras regularly pan for audience reaction. Some of us non-actors showed up on TV too, though -- I was on for a good second or two, which led me to getting "busted" by a former co-worker once it aired. Oops!

And yes, we signed huge non-disclosure agreements. As a lawyer, I'm probably one of the few who actually read it through before signing. The network people actually started to look nervous and/or annoyed that I was taking so long.

It was an interesting day, to say the least!

So you think no suprise wedding between Ash and JP?

Evidence would seem to indicate that. They might close it yet, I don't know. But they know a huge bomb like a wedding would leak--that's Fleiss' ultimate dream--even with actors.

GrahamGal, they may have had time for a coffee first plus they had to film PI's. I checked and the time stamps say 11:17 when they're walking after the greeting and then another one says 12:49 and that was too early to go to his parent's. The skating seems to be somewhat short with it starting around 1 and the wine/snack around 1:30. They probably did something after that before going to his family's house.
