Another one bites the dust. Three days after making a gushy appearance at the Bachelor premiere the lawyer turned fashion designer Dorfman and ex-baseball player Murray announced they had split. We are sad it came to this point read their joint statement. Citing a mutual decision to go our separate ways. They stated they would remain good friends. There was no cheating, no event that led up to the breakup says a source close to the couple. It just did not work out. They figured out that they are not supposed to be together.

There is a little side blurb that reads…They were thoughtful and wise in their decision…Murray’s mom posted on Facebook.

I hope Andi is great, but no she has not lived in ATL for long.  She was in Baton Rouge, LA until she was 22.  She moved to Winston Salem, SC until 25 to go to law school.  

So she has been in ATL for under two years and she spent over six months of that taping tv shows elsewhere, so really.  She is not an ATL girl at all.

I think she personally doesn't really want to stay in ATL and good for her, go find your happy whenever you are ready.

As far as I know, Andi grew up in the surrounding area of Atlanta.  I know she went to high school at Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta which, as you likely know, is a suburb of Atlanta.

And has since taken every opportunity to leave.  She also said Josh being in ATL was a disadvantage, because she wanted to leave.  

To me this is a not a criticism of Andi, when she has had choices she chose to leave.  I grew up in South Florida and will always be from there, but I left, so no I can't consider myself a Floridian anymore.

Personally, I don't think Andi loves Atlanta, so she should go find her happy where ever it is.  I know a lot of Georgia girls, most don't show this enthusiasm to leave their home state that Andi continually shows.

As an aside, I don't put much stock in the first article since we know Andi moved in with Josh when her lease was up.

From what I have heard her say, prior to filming The Bachelorette she was considering leaving Atlanta so I am not disagreeing with your opinion that she may end up leaving. I was responding to your comment that she hadn't lived in Atlanta long and was not an Atlanta girl as I believe she spent quite a bit of her childhood there.

Feel free to copy wherever you want.  Take it for what it is worth.  I did not follow her season so I do not know how much is the truth.  Just thought I would share since I had the magazine.  There is also a small article in People.

What Went Wrong?

8 months after accepting a 3.5 carat ring from Josh Murray, no wedding details have been nailed down.  Once the planning starts, there is no end to it so we are waiting.  Dorfman, with Murray at her side, told UsWeekly at the Bachelor premiere that they have been travelling and doing fun stuff and had not had time to settle down.  Once they take a breath, they will figure out what they want.

3 days later it was settled – they broke up.  It states that they determined it was best for them to go their separate ways.

Those close to Dorfman, a tough no-nonsense woman and Murray, a competitive sports enthusiast, said a split was inevitable.  There was a constant struggle over who was the alpha in the relationship.  They never moved in together but spent nights at each other’s Atlanta homes.  An insider said Andi is very dominant and was too much for Josh to handle.  He tried to break up with her many times but Andi did not want it to end.  It was over for Josh a long time ago.

Dorfman had misgivings about Josh from the moment she met him.  The fact that he was her type scared her.  He was very similar to her previous boyfriends who broker her heart.  She soon learned that Josh was very similar to her too.  They both wanted to take the reins of their relationship.  The result was a power struggle that played out not only in private but social situations too.  Andi would speak for Josh.  Josh hated that she was so controlling.  

The two started to grate on each other and openly joked about their quibbles in public.  She is not clean at all.  I can’t even get to the closet.  There are clothes and shoes everywhere. He also pointed out the would-be fashion designer’s carelessness:  I woke up with a pin in my leg the other day from her sewing.  I got stabbed in the leg.

After holidays filled with tension, Murray made up his mind to cut ties following their trip to LA.  He realized that they could not make it work.  He wishes his ex no ill will.  The two made a pact to stay silent about the breakup.  It is tough on both of them but Josh wants nothing but the best for Andi.  He has not a bad word to say about her.

No problem, I guess to me, where we grow up is our parents choice. Since Andi is an adult and has continually sought to leave ATL and GA since being an adult I just don't consider her to be one.

Going to have to disagree with you and Alanna as I find it encouraging that Andi is willing to show her vulnerability. Quite the contrast from some of the controlling behavior (which is often used as a way to defend against the vulnerability of expressing feelings) to which she herself has admitted. Andi has just had a very significant loss and shouldn't have to feel embarrassed that she is hurting. Her willingness/ability to embrace these feelings of pain and sadness will foster healing. You go, Andi.

You have to have bottomed out to admit you are desperate enough for help and then allow it and work it.
IMOAA, regarding the IG is not just about the break up over Josh, but the break up with fans, her place in life, the entire enchilada. She is 27 and has no more clue regarding who she is or where she is going than most 18 yr olds. That can be frightening, overwhelming and sad for an adult approaching the big 3-0. (in her eyes)
I hope she learns and grows from it.
