I think this was later negated when she said that JP was the total package for her which is a much stronger statement.

The problem with hanging any hat on the "total package" phrase is that she's used it a lot, and it is used a lot on every show, and some of the guys she's used it about have already been sent home. Best I think to ignore that phrase as having much meaning.

Lucas, thanks for bringing this up. When she said it, she seemed to emphasize "for me". It was just a little different than what she has stated with anyone else. Much like one would say-- "you're a great guy and have everything a girl could want, it's just that I've fallen in love with...." I think that she has made connections with other guys, it's just that her feelings with her F1 are stronger; and, in my eyes, her F1 is JP. I understand if others see her connection stronger with another-- this is just how I see it. Can't wait to see tonights episode!!

I remember in one of her very early interviews she said, "I made the right decision--for me."
I know, they usually say that, too, but this just sticks out now that I think about, "He's the total package--for me."

Haven't finished reading through yet, but just have to comment. If we are going to use the EDIT and edit clues to determine who is F1 and are going by past edits, then we can't pick and choose which parts of the edit we can and cannot use. If the F1 generally gets the episode 3 date, but the epi3 date is in a different spot for the toasting on the F3 or even F4 RC's then we can either assume that TPTB have mixed up the edit or that the spots that the Final 3 or 4 guys stand is a coincidence.

Gina you are right one more week and we will see.

From what I can see it certainly is. I'm hard pressed to think of a show that I didn't hear it on, and just yesterday I re-watched Ashley's HTD with Brad on B15 and Brad said that "total package" line about Ashley in a VO on that date, who of course was F3 in spite of the fact that Brad said she was the total package.

I would imagine that a lot of the guys on the show had the total package....Ashley has stated that she was looking for a "feeling", so even tho some have the total package as to what they have to offer a girl they may not have the total package "for her" if they don't give her the feeling she is looking for. Just an opinion of course.

I just went back to rewatch the group date 1:1 time in HK and couldn't find where she says this-- can you point me to it? Was it earlier in the boat race portion, did they have a 1:1 time that I'm forgetting? TIA

She also talked in her first blog about how Ryan had everything she wanted in a husband! :P
I think after her first date with Ames, she did what he suggested and just threw the list out while looking for a specific feeling.

I'd be upset with the edits. I don't get emotionally attached to the participants. Ben appears to be a nice guy and so does JP, but I follow the edits as I see them. I don't see JP as F1. I see JP falling for Ashley, but she is only pursuing Ben. There alot more to Ben and Ashley than we see, and we probably won't see the true relationship. I also noticed that Ben is not comfortable displaying affections in public (Virgo male) so don't expect to see the hot and heavy between them. He'll save that for their private time. lol

Well, I'll admit I'm having some trouble seeing any real consistency in these edits, but I know that you have have seen what you feel are real and viable patterns. IF it turns out that JP is F1, what do you think will be happening regarding edits? Do you think it will mean they are evolving, or not as predictable as they may have once been? I am really curious about this, because I know that I have read that the edits have been stated to be important in the past in revealing repeated patterns, though I'll admit I just don't understand them very well.

Generally when the edits are really off and all over the place (lol), it means that there was no real lovestory, and they are making up both main lovestories. It very possible that it's what is happening with Ashley. Maybe Ashley really did fall head over heels for Bentley, and did not really recover. It's possible. But, most of the edits that I see lean more to Ben as F1 than JP, whether there is a real lovestory or not. It's all about who she chooses in the end. jmo
