When I watched one of the latest previews with the scene between Ashley and Ben when she is rubbing the lotion on his chest, Ben asked if that was ok (or something to that effect). That seems odd to me and it seems odd to me because in this point in time if they were intimate or physically/emotionally close I do not think he would have to ask, he would know if it's ok. JMO of course and just a scene I have speculated on. Thoughts?
I mentioned, I think yesterday, that after rewatching that preview it wasn't as "hot" as I first thought. she's sitting back on his thighs and when she kisses him, it's her signature peck and then she very carefully got off of him. She does have to play a part on all these dates, just like all the other leads do, but IMO she's much less convincing than others have been.
When he said that I wondered for a second if he was asking Ashley or if he was subconsciously asking if it's ok with JP that he's being rubbed down by Ash. Go ahead and throw stones, I can handle them just fine..
Hilarious CA!!!! I agree with all the posts that are stating that JP and Ashley's level of intimacy long surpassed that of Ashley and Ben. (No insult to Ben-- he's a great guy but, unfortunately, I think that Ashley fell for JP and not Ben) As I have posted many times, I think that Ashley most likely arranged "more time" with JP in between dates. I believe that I read somewhere that Ali said that she did this. One statementt that makes me feel this way is early on (I believe around episode 2 or 3) JP mentions that he looks forward to "our 1:1 time" and, at that time, we had only been shown a couple of "official" 1:1 times for them.
And when he said that you could tell it was spliced or chopped. I think he said it during the cocktail party of the fight episode? But I'm not sure..guess I'll be 'forced' to go back and watch...

I think you & I are finally going to get it right this time!!etherealfire wrote:Bhaka wrote:2observe wrote:I have a funny feeling that people are going to really dislike Ashley, at the end of this.
2observe, I understand what you're saying because when Jason dumped Melissa for Molly, I "really disliked" him. But I got over it quickly when I saw how happy he was with Molly. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their wedding.
If Ashley doesn't choose JP, I will be sad, but I will blame myself because I fell for the edit once again. It has taken a few seasons, but I think I've finally learned that my disappointment is not the responsibility of the lead.
This has been a strange season for me because I realized that if I were 26 again, and choosing between JP and Ben for myself, I would choose Ben, without a doubt. So why isn't Ben my favorite? Because it doesn't look to me like he's Ashley's favorite. If I'm wrong, oh well, it certainly won't be the first time!
I like both of these guys so much, but like you, Ben would by more my personal type. But also like you I tend to lead more to JP being the final guy because it appears as though he's the one for Ashley. Since I never get it right, I won't be surprised if I'm wrong again - but I totally agree with the way you are seeing it because I see it too. The good news is, Ashley is glowing, so whomever is F1 is doing a fantastic job of putting that glow there and must be the perfect guy for Ash!

Wouldn't that be something? Our track record finally blemished with a win?
I guess I won't be believing anything till I see it but I have to say one thing I'm looking forward to this season is post-show
I really think Ms Ash has lost her heart to some great guy; it's gonna be so much fun to see that at the end of all of this

I guess I just question so much how some "know" what she's going to do when it hasn't been shown yet..........wouldn't it surprise some if she chooses Ben??Gina wrote:Ashley is going to be America's sweetheart after this and their media tour.
She got it right and people respect her for admitting she made a few mistake along the way,
but she got there in the end and that's all that matters.
We all just want a happy ending for Ashley, and love story, and that's the best part.

CarrieAlexander wrote:etherealfire.. I'm sure she is going to be screwed either way I was and will always be team Ashley. There's no way for her to please everyone and she really doesn't have even control over people understanding who she really is and why she made the choices she did because of editing.
Some (and by some I don't mean everyone, so chill) who want Ben to win will say she is cruel and heartless for dragging him along like they do every season to the F2, she should have picked him because he is better than the rest.
Some (and by some I don't mean everyone so you guys chill out too) who wanted JP to win will still conclude that the season was way to obvious and boring because it was spoiled from the start and a waste of time to watch.
Just for good measure I'll add JMO
Love it Carrie..........so true..............like I said before, it all depends on which side of the fence your feet land.

This is another thing to supports my conclusion that JP is not F1.
Ed was missing basically half the season and his family met her in Hawaii, dad even questioned why they were there.. we all know how that ended.
We knew that Roberto liked to play baseball and his mom cooked spanish "stuff"
Emily has a daughter and can't cook mac and cheese.. and again we all know how that ended
I don't think it matters one way or the other. Ames and JP weren't even in the city that THEY live in, they were where their parents live. It would be kind of hard to show their daily life when they aren't even in the right city.
I don't really think it matters one way or the other if we learn about it.
I agree. This show is not about the individual, it's about the couple.
Don't you have to get to know the individuals to know how that would help you as a couple. Meaning, Ash saw a lot of the winery and how that affects Ben's life.........What did she see personal of JP?? Nothing. When Ali went to Roberto's hometown, she learned about his past and what "made him", How can you be with someone without getting to know him and where he came from..........that is what Ashley found out about Ben, but didn't see that with JP. IMO.

I don't see JP as F1. I see JP falling for Ashley, but she is only pursuing Ben. There alot more to Ben and Ashley than we see, and we probably won't see the true relationship. I also noticed that Ben is not comfortable displaying affections in public (Virgo male) so don't expect to see the hot and heavy between them. He'll save that for their private time. loletherealfire wrote:2observe wrote:When everyone finds out that Ashley chose Ben, they are going to be very upset about what indications that Ashley would not break JP's heart. jmoCarrieAlexander wrote:2observe wrote:I have a funny feeling that people are going to really dislike Ashley, at the end of this.Bhaka wrote:Since I am a JP fan, I must be the first to admit that I see his edit through rose-colored glasses. Having said that, the scene that most convinces me that he is F1 is the scene between Ashley and JP's mother, Eileen.
Ashley has already told us that she doesn't think she hides her feelings well. When Eileen asks if she's put Ashley "on the spot", Ashley responds, "You can put me on the spot as much as you want." Ashley's "role" didn't require her to be that open.
Then when Eileen tells Ashley she doesn't want to see her son hurt again, Ashley responds, "I am smitten by your son. We have something that is very special to me."It's one thing for Ashley to hide her feelings from F4, F3, F2. As hard as that might be, they are adults who knew what they signed up for. But Ashley didn't have to respond so lovingly to Eileen. She could have said something like, "You're right, it's hard. But I just have to stay open and trust the process."
If I were Ashely, which obviously I am not, I couldn't have given such open answers to anyone but the mother of my F1.
Just curiosity getting the best of me here 2observe.. may I ask why? I love hearing everyone's opinions on the final outcome.
Now I'm curious. 2observe, if you are wrong and she picks JP are you going to be very upset?
Well, I'll admit I'm having some trouble seeing any real consistency in these edits, but I know that you have have seen what you feel are real and viable patterns. IF it turns out that JP is F1, what do you think will be happening regarding edits? Do you think it will mean they are evolving, or not as predictable as they may have once been? I am really curious about this, because I know that I have read that the edits have been stated to be important in the past in revealing repeated patterns, though I'll admit I just don't understand them very well.
I don't think that it would be natural for the editors to break these many edit rules........It definately isn't like them to do this and thus, I really can't see them breaking these many editing habits to put JP as F1..........

IMO, the slow tortoise race will be the winner..........after being married for 23 years, I know that the romantic connection that you share might not be all it's cracked up to be and will fizzle out as you get older......the solid connection that you have as friends, emotional connections will far outlast the rest. That steady emotional connection that Ben/Ash have is what wil matter. IMODiana wrote:If I was 26, I'd pick JP. heck I'm barely 18 and I'd still pick Jordan Paul.

I see that she has that emotional AS WELL AS romantic spark with JP. My guess is that she's looking for both.
How can you help it when the music starts to play, And your ability to reason is swept away
Oh-oh-oh, heaven on earth is all you see, You're out of touch with reality
And now you cry but when you do-- Next time around someone cries for you

Actually i think she was shown a lot of JP that was personal to him on his HTD. he took her to a skating rink that he had fun in as a child. Same goes for his mother bringing out that photo of him. She probably also learned a lot more about JP but edit won't be showing us that. Just like edit didn't show us everything there was for Ben F's date. I felt we got to know more about Constantine on the HTD than we ever did in previous episodes IMO. I thought it was weird she met his whole family not just the immediate family but not weird weird. just something that made me go hmmm.

She did say that she wanted both in her PI's. She's looking for not only the emotional but physical as well.

Then what about this from Ashley's blog after epi 5 Chiang Mai date...........it was the first time she used the phrase total package.
Bachelorette Blog: Why Ben F. Has the 'Total Package'

I can't even tell you how much better I was feeling this week as we headed north to Chiang Mai. With so many great dates and memorable moments in Phuket, I was so excited to see where these relationships would go next!
Ben [Flajnik] stood out to me more than anyone else on the orphanage date the week prior. He was funny, witty, artistic and great with the kids. On top of that, he looked great in a beanie! I could not wait to take him on the first date in Chiang Mai, a city of great cultural significance.
At the marketplace, we were able to listen to Thai music, taste Thai cuisine (which happens to be my favorite) and visit one of the oldest temples in the world. I learned from this date that Ben was the total package. He was easy to be around, interesting to talk to, and had so much depth to him. All I wanted to do was kiss him, but just my luck – we were at one of the holiest places in Thailand and could not kiss. The tension was tangible.
