When everyone finds out that Ashley chose Ben, they are going to be very upset about what indications that Ashley would not break JP's heart. jmo

Now I'm curious. 2observe, if you are wrong and she picks JP are you going to be very upset?

I'd be upset with the edits. I don't get emotionally attached to the participants. Ben appears to be a nice guy and so does JP, but I follow the edits as I see them. I don't see JP as F1. I see JP falling for Ashley, but she is only pursuing Ben. There alot more to Ben and Ashley than we see, and we probably won't see the true relationship. I also noticed that Ben is not comfortable displaying affections in public (Virgo male) so don't expect to see the hot and heavy between them. He'll save that for their private time. lol

I think it is so interesting that two people can see the same thing so differently, yet we each have the right to our own perspective. I have not seen Ashley pursue Ben at all. What I saw on JP's HTD is Ashley pursuing JP. I saw her at the rollerskating rink as the one that initiated most of the kissing, hugging and touching. I agree that Ben is a more private person and is not as comfortable displaying affection in front of the cameras. I am going to be looking very carefully at Ben and JP's time with Ashley tomorrow night to see if I can appreciate what you are seeing with Ben. I invite you to do the same. I know it will not change our minds, but maybe we can both learn something!

I didn't learn anything about JP's or Ames' daily lives during their HTDs. We saw what Constantines' life is like and we also saw what Ben's life is like; but, we did not get to see what life is like with JP and Ames. This is another thing to supports my conclusion that JP is not F1.

Ed was missing basically half the season and his family met her in Hawaii, dad even questioned why they were there.. we all know how that ended.
We knew that Roberto liked to play baseball and his mom cooked spanish "stuff"
Emily has a daughter and can't cook mac and cheese.. and again we all know how that ended

I don't think it matters one way or the other. Ames and JP weren't even in the city that THEY live in, they were where their parents live. It would be kind of hard to show their daily life when they aren't even in the right city.

I don't really think it matters one way or the other if we learn about it.

2observe while I see your point that we didn't see much of their daily lives during their HTDs maybe it is because they both were featured in the first episode, we saw JP wandering aimlessly around a market picking out food, then other shots of him at work with a VO of saying he was where he wanted to be professionally. Similarly we saw Ames, discussing his different degrees and talking about how he works on wall street. Perhaps the producers figured they had already shown the audience a glimpse of what daily life is like for the F1 that they didn't feel the need to get more footage of JP at work.

Well, I'll admit I'm having some trouble seeing any real consistency in these edits, but I know that you have have seen what you feel are real and viable patterns. IF it turns out that JP is F1, what do you think will be happening regarding edits? Do you think it will mean they are evolving, or not as predictable as they may have once been? I am really curious about this, because I know that I have read that the edits have been stated to be important in the past in revealing repeated patterns, though I'll admit I just don't understand them very well.

2observe, I understand what you're saying because when Jason dumped Melissa for Molly, I "really disliked" him. But I got over it quickly when I saw how happy he was with Molly. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their wedding.

If Ashley doesn't choose JP, I will be sad, but I will blame myself because I fell for the edit once again. It has taken a few seasons, but I think I've finally learned that my disappointment is not the responsibility of the lead.

This has been a strange season for me because I realized that if I were 26 again, and choosing between JP and Ben for myself, I would choose Ben, without a doubt. So why isn't Ben my favorite? Because it doesn't look to me like he's Ashley's favorite. If I'm wrong, oh well, it certainly won't be the first time!

I like both of these guys so much, but like you, Ben would by more my personal type. But also like you I tend to lead more to JP being the final guy because it appears as though he's the one for Ashley. Since I never get it right, I won't be surprised if I'm wrong again - but I totally agree with the way you are seeing it because I see it too. The good news is, Ashley is glowing, so whomever is F1 is doing a fantastic job of putting that glow there and must be the perfect guy for Ash!
