Definitely, definitely true. I have both on either side several times and I admit to my part in it. I just hope we can all remain gracious this season!

I am fully prepared to gracious eat crow if JP is not F1. I've been wrong so many times...I've got several crow eating recipes on file.

moflan. There's another thread (someone help and post where it is) that shows JP's watch and they meet up before 9 am. Looks like the date ended at dusk and with DST on the EST, it looks like a 12 hour date with JP from those caps. Ashley said she's not into religion and Jews do not celebrate Easter. I know Elan Gale and some other Production folks are also Jewish, so that wouldn't matter.

It wasn't on her thigh, it was between her legs holding her thigh. That's a pretty intimate gesture to be making in front of your parents on the first meeting. jmo

Maybe they did spend more time together later after filming ended. It seems I remember reading in the past that there were other primaries who were able to spend a little more time with someone on the HTD after filming the family time portion of the date.

Jesse spent time with Deanna at her hotel.
Melissa spent time with Jason at his hotel.

Those are the only ones we know for sure, but there have probably been others.

Since I am a JP fan, I must be the first to admit that I see his edit through rose-colored glasses. Having said that, the scene that most convinces me that he is F1 is the scene between Ashley and JP's mother, Eileen.

Ashley has already told us that she doesn't think she hides her feelings well. When Eileen asks if she's put Ashley "on the spot", Ashley responds, "You can put me on the spot as much as you want." Ashley's "role" didn't require her to be that open.

Then when Eileen tells Ashley she doesn't want to see her son hurt again, Ashley responds, "I am smitten by your son. We have something that is very special to me."

It's one thing for Ashley to hide her feelings from F4, F3, F2. As hard as that might be, they are adults who knew what they signed up for. But Ashley didn't have to respond so lovingly to Eileen. She could have said something like, "You're right, it's hard. But I just have to stay open and trust the process."

If I were Ashely, which obviously I am not, I couldn't have given such open answers to anyone but the mother of my F1.

I enjoyed the part of the date where Ashley talked to him mom too. In the previews for the HTD's and Ash was talking to him mom, she was really smiling when the mom was saying soemthing about not wanting her son to be hurt, it was like she was bursting at the seams to not just tell her that it wasn't going to happen,...but they didn't show that on the actual episode.

Bhaka! ITA with you. If JP is not F1, I'll feel most upset for Mrs. Rosenbaum because of the things Ashley said to her. If I were the mom, I'd take those things as total assurance that my son would be chosen by Ashley--unless there was more that we weren't shown like--"Seriously, Mom R., you know they made me say those things, and you know we have several more weeks to film, I have four great guys right now, and things could go any of their ways." Otherwise, I'll say shame on Ashley if JP is not F1.

ETA: The problem is that we'll never know if more was said--on any of the dates! We only know what they show us.

In my opinion the physical edit should be viewed differently for a male lead than a female lead. I get 'tricked' much more by a physical edit if it is FOR a female (i.e. Chantal). I believe when the lead is female, we can put more weight into the physical edit. I hope that makes sense.
