Bachelor 19 - Chris Soules - Media - Tweets - Facebook - IG - *Spoilers & Sleuthing* - Discussion #2

I feel like the grinch, but truly I could care less. I might look for pics on Des and Chris later, but otherwise, I might be getting to the point that I am over this thing. I will watch Chris but don't really feel any enthusiasm and Andi and Josh don't really do it for me.

I have grown to love Des and Chris, but the fact that TPTB are not going to televise this wedding has really made me question how much I want to follow what TPTB wants to show us anymore.

If Andi and Josh are televised and Chris and Des aren't it will speak volumes to me that I might not want to give my viewership to MF and TPTB anymore.

Sorry for being a grinch, but this is bugging me more and more, and I am just not excited for this float or this season at all.

I really don't care about the float either. I will follow here for any pictures/videos posted but otherwise, I'm not that into it.

I think I will be more into Chris' season once it starts and I see the ladies in action. I am very rarely excited about a season...Jillian and Sean were the exception...before it starts. It helps keep me from being too disappointed and keeps me more objective.

As for the televised weddings...I would have liked to see Des and Chris. That, unfortunately, is not going to happen. If they televise Andi and Josh, I will not be watching. They are not a couple I particularly like and I would really be disappointed that they put Des through the wringer and didn't show her wedding and then did Andi's. Either do them all or just stop televising them and maybe do a little tape of the nuptials and show them during the next season.

BTW, love your avi. I agree about televise all or none. I think the whole crap with Des and Chris not getting the tv wedding but it seemed like they strung them along too and if Andi and Josh get one will really turn me off. Then again, I have to say CT and realizing that Nikki is as annoying as she is didn't help either.

I wasn't looking forward to JPG and turned out to like him, so I hope the same is true with Chris. I like that they are going to film in more areas that would be like where they will be living, but having a porn actress and an internet fameho in the top four is just not appealing to me. I hope I like the top two enough to overcome that.

Part of the problem too is that I really like both Brooks and Nick and I guess I am tired of watching TPTB make villains of the people I do like while celebrating those that I don't. Even watching Sean and Cat become TPTB attack puppets on JPG's AFTR was off putting. Heck I usually abandon most shows after about three seasons as watching the same old thing gets irritating to me. The bachelor had people I liked enough as they went along to keep me interested, but the last few seasons and how they have handled them is starting to turn me away.

Okay, promise no more complaining and here's hoping Chris's season is awesome. Is the drinking word for the season going to be farmer? We have a wine collection I need to get through before we move.

I think I understand how you feel, Stuck, as per bad edit and people being unfairly judged based on that. As for Jade, I don't think she was/is a porn star. What I see is someone who perhaps made some bad and thoughtless choices , and will unfortunately suffer the consequences. Regardless of what her life is now, or turns out to be...those pics and videos aren't going anywhere. I pray for strength for her and her loved ones. It won't be easy.

Personally, I find Chris one of the most likable (and attractive) Bachelors heading into the show so I'm excited about it.  Too bad there's not much interest on here.  I hope he really connects with a couple of nice women and that the rest bring some amusing entertainment along the way.  Bring on Jan 5th, I personally can't wait for it to start.

I think maybe the show is just getting old and people are over it, because there was more hype with worse leads of the past . So it's just bad timing for him. I like him and remember watching his hometown date thinking (sadly) bye Marquel! I don't care for hype or ratings really, I will root for them after the show as long as they don't go Hollywood on me. I hope we get a good love story.

I felt like they didn't set Chris up at all last season. I hardly remember him.

I'm hoping we get to know more of Chris on his season, but the lead-up is kinda meh. And I originally wasn't super impressed with the casting.

This is one of the odd things to me. I do think they would have preferred Eric or Josh for the lead, but they knew that Eric was out at fourth week of taping and that Andi really liked Josh, so why didn't they show us more of Chris? It is fairly odd. I will wait and judge him based on his season, but I wonder if there wasn't much they could show us of Chris without diminishing him in the eyes of the public.

^ I agree with that. It's too bad Marcus wasn't a few years older because I think he would have been great and they probably would have given him a ton of consideration otherwise. I think production viewed Eric and Josh as the most viable options. Considering Eric was let go early and CH said himself they all knew she was picking Josh in Italy and essentially had to force her into giving other relationships a shot, they should have highlighted Chris more, but they didn't for whatever reason.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but IMO Chris comes off a bit smug as well and I personally just don't find him attractive in many different ways. His hometown date was very sweet though. I'll watch his season, but that's as far as my interest goes. A few recent things he said in interviews just seemed a little off to me too. I hope it works for him though. It seems like he picked the girl that makes the most sense.

I really loved Eric from what I saw, whether they painted him in a good light. It was easy to see his side and what he meant.

I thought Josh would have been a great lead- a more fun storyline of football jock. I felt like everyone behind the scene was like "sexy farmer" with Chris but none of that was shown to give it appeal. I felt like there weren't real emotions connected, unlike other contestants. Its hard from an outside view to take a stance with Chris and want him to find his "one" on the Bachelor, similarly Andi with Juan Pablo (obviously).

Again, I'll have to watch Chris's season but yeah, just not set up very well.

I agree with the bolded. 
I don't have anything against Chris, but I think it would have been better for TPTB not to try to make a guy who is obviously in his mid-30's look like he is in his 20's. 
Don't give him a Justin Beiber haircut and fill in the thinning areas with colorant spray making it appear he has a head of hair and then allow those to see the color almost running into his eyes. It's ridiculous. Nothing wrong with a guy in his 30's looking like a guy in his 30's!! Same with his body. He's got some softer areas. So what? I do too, in my mid -50s! It's called a normal aging process. 
Next match him up with a demographic of women in their late 20's to mid 30's or even later. Don't give him an entourage of women looking to model and who are just barely drinking age. 
I think there are a lot of viewers who have about reached their expiration date with the show. Ratings should be interesting.

I personally think they should have gone with Nick, he was the most talked about good or bad out of Marcus, Cody and Chris.... I don't have any interest in Chris but I am addicted to watching this show, I will probably watch somewhat.....
