I find that to be an odd statement. Doesn't sound like he is engaged to me.  But this comment could have been designed to evade.  I have a problem with accepting that Chris could be so calculated with his responses, but then again, he could have been exhaustively coached. Just odd.

They allowed him to say that he had said, "I love you" to someone (to prove that the season would not be like JuanPa's). They will not let him say whether or not he's engaged IMO. And all leads are exhaustively coached.... though as was proved by JuanPa, it doesn't always take.

It was odd to me too. I get the coached thing too though so maybe that explains it.

I think that that's one thing from what I saw in how Juan Pablo handled things...maybe not with the most respect that some of the women and not as much respect for the process that it deserved. I think we were very different in regard."

They... Fleiss & Co. who influenced this write-up... really, really do NOT like Juan Pablo.

I mean... they really, really do NOT like him. Bet he has been excluded from the Fleiss Family barbecues these days. Wonder if Papa Michael will ever forgive him and allow him to kiss his ring?

My overall opinion of him is that he is no different than a number of other Bachelors THEY chose... such as Bob Guiney, Jesse Palmer, Ben Flajnik, etc. Simply put, he came on the show more for media attention than for a future wife. Sooo... what else is new? He didn't do anything THAT bad apart from leading on his F2 and pretty much telling his F1 that he didn't "love" her... only she needed Couples Therapy to figure it out.

Oh... and that verbal boo-boo regarding what is too "preverted" for family hour... excuse me... too "intense".

Yet they act like he spread VD to the franchise or something and are really coaching Chris to say (and prove) he is the polar opposite: "For me, this is a big deal. I suspect... that this all ties in with what Chris said to Nick in Andi's season (i.e. Brussels) when he accused him of trying too hard to "win". Also he may have been influenced by other ex-contestants such as Clare Crawley (she met up with him right after he was chosen and gave her "eggs in one basket" comment on twitter to boot).

The contestants who take this "process" seriously (*cough cough*) all talk the same kind of talk, which is this: This show is not about "winning". Ooooooh... that W Word! Even Ashley Hebert used to say the same stuff in her season. Then again, we got Courtney hilariously quoting popular TV comedy lines about "winning" as if we shouldn't have been taking Ben's season all that seriously.

You can also add that Desiree kept saying she was "happy", but many here suspected she and Brooks broke up post-show... LOL!

This from the guy who sent out scripted letters to MEandI all last season.
He is just another puppet in MF's toyshop.
I don't understand what he is supposed to say: "I was tickled pink that I got to put my face out there in case I want a future political career? I was overwhelmed being a room with that many beauty queens, strippers and porn stars without having to pay them?"
He was hired to do a job. The job is being TB.

Oh pleeeeeze... this whole franchise is one big puppet show.

That was why the Venice date in Andi's season was so hilarious. The "puppets" all sat and watched a puppet show. This was before they took the ridiculous lie detector test.

I find it interesting that he can say he picked someone. Recently the lead hasn't been able to say that or that they were in love.

Chris may not know what happened with JPG's season, but he did hang out with Clare Bear... twice. I am sure he got an OPINION. *chuckle chuckle*

You know fully well that THEY ALL talk like this at the start of their seasons.

I mean... I am not trying to defend Mister John Deere here or put him on a silly pedestal for others to knock off, but still... it is what it is.

Just consider me 50% cynical with a capital "S" and...

Yeah... this is a silly show with an awful lot of acting... and I am talking BAD acting too. I still chuckle over how seriously the masses took Desiree's boo-hoo in Antigua over Brooks. Not that I would EVER ridicule anybody for taking it seriously since... heck!... that is Fleiss & Company's JOB!!!! That is, to make this puppet show as "real" as possible, thanks to clever editing and contestant "handling". Oh they have had me fooled many, many times before, if not on HER season. (Usually where they get me in their corner is by showcasing a destined-to-be-dumped contestant who is more serious about "happily ever after" than the Bachelor or Bachelorette is, thus making me think there is a chance for him/her.)

That is because I am still 50% delusional. Not 100% cynical as I probably should be.

Yeah, delusional me STILL thinks every season will be an improvement over the last one. I am like a Spanish explorer insisting there has GOT to be SOME gold SOMEWHERE in this New World. I keep thinking, with twenty-five... no, THIRTY... women on Chris' show... AND his desperate need to get wedded rather than just bedded at the end of this (much like the way Desiree sighed and sighed over all of the wedding dresses she designed for others as if she was the only member of the Lonely Hearts Club), that there has GOT to be some ratio of "success" here. It can't just be all exploding champagne bottles on a soccer field. Not that I am going to separate those who think they are "different" than past contestants, but this show is what it is, y'know.... a crap shoot where they throw the dice to see what they get.

Nonetheless, I do kinda agree with the "Jump"/"High high" scenario... LOL! Mike Fleiss likes 'em fresh off the farm.

Chris must have learned the ropes from Clare bear.

He could have said he's very excited and happy with the way things unfolded, like all the previous leads.

IMO he didn't say he's happy with the one who won, if he wasn't told to say that. That's an attempt IMO from TPTB to plant the seed there will be a happy ending, like it or not, because after all, we're not done with JPG not jumping high enough.
