This is pure speculation on my part, but I have to wonder if this couple gave a time frame for something to come up regarding a wedding for TPTB and after time frame passed decided to march to the beat of their own drummer.

ITA, this sounds more likely, and I wonder why Des has not responded to that question at all.

IDK. Not meant to be mean or nasty--but why should she? (asked only as a question)
She is happy, she is following her own dreams in the way she chooses, it's not anyone's business and she is happily moving towards her future.

I'm hoping they have their wedding video taped and can sell the copies if they wish. Since through no fault of their own that ABC decided not to air it they should be able to do whatever they please after the wedding as long as they don't sell it with any Bachelorette tradmark right? Anyone know where their rights are with all of this if it's something they would want to do for their fans?

I do not know the exacts--it has been posted many times and I'm sure someone will repost.
I think it goes beyond "airing" and trademarking.

I actually think Des and Chris both seem to avoid negative and answering a question about why they aren't having a tv wedding can only go that way.

Like GA and others said, they were grateful for the opportunities, but really went about making a real life that was their own and not dependent on being a bachelor couple. It is funny but watching them and their genuine sweetness and goodness brought me around to being a fan when the wonky ending didn't have me one to begin with.

I am happy for Des and Chris that they continue to be the wonderful people they are and paint an example of how it can be done.

Regardless of the circumstances, I think Des and Chris know what they want and weren't willing to sacrifice to make a TV wedding work. They've been gracious about how it's been handled and I agree with your kudos! They are a successful example in how to live post-bachelor world!

I don't think your response is mean. I am thinking out loud because she has asked fans not to ask her that question, why not just say, it is not going to be televise. Her fan ask her bcs her relationship started on TV and they just want to be a part of her celebration. And No, i don't think it is too much to ask. JMO.
ITA, girl friend has done very well for herself, she is very happy and following her dream. and I am very happy for her whatever her decision.

There could be a part 2 of this: If after they wed should TPTB decide they want nothing to do with whatever rights or clause was contracted, maybe they could market photos/video with someone else. So that would be my reasoning for not answering.
It's a good thing all around. I am happy for the couple.

ITA, we have just seen what a business women she is. Chris has said repeatedly that Des is very strong and goes after she wants and gets it. So, if she wants to do it, I am sure she will find a way.

Maybe they couldn't say anything, because they really didn't know, due to TPTB not giving them an answer. no idea

I really like her jewellery which IMO was a great idea to add to her gown business.

Chris just said it, I believe last month, but Des does not respond to that question, period.
