If we consider this context, the entire premise of the show doesn't make sense.

I look at the entire thing as a fantasy. This is not real life. In real life, if someone gets engaged after spending what amounts to one day with another person, we're all scratching our heads and thinking they are crazy. On the show, that's the entire point. It's not real, no matter how much we'd all like it to be. Yes, the odd couple has managed to make this relationship last past the bubble, but that's honestly an anomaly and not something that can be expected to happen. So for me, talking about who she will marry is kind of like fantasy-talk, it's fun to discuss but I don't take any of it seriously.

Yeah, because there is a huge difference between spending a total of (the equivalent of) five days with someone, and spending a total of (the equivalent of ) six days with someone. That extra day should definitely be enough to know you are ready to get engaged. duh

I think it was albean, however, I'm not certain. Haven't been on so I just read and read for what seemed like hours before I could catch up. And I wanted to read the whole thing before I mentioned this in case someone else said what I was thinking.

I can actually buy something like this happening. Because Ashley is kind of all over the place emotionally. BUT, once she gets annoyed with someone, she just gets annoyed.

Remember with Mickey, she was all sympathetic until he said the wrong thing, then she was like if you want go, take the initiative and just go. She was done, even waving at him to hurry up and get in the boat.

Ben C. was another good example, she just came back and said she was ending the 2:1 portion, time to hop on the boat and send him down river. She more or less done William the same way. "I'm a 30 year old kid", well, "I want a man". See ya!!

And Bentley, after her asking if he just wanted a vacay.....well, wasn't till too long and she was up and out of there....and we all remember the big F U, I'm done!.

So, hypothetically speaking, if JP pushes her too much, which could happen, then I can see her just deciding in a split second......all right, here you go!! Quite possible scenario in my mind.

And before anyone comes back at me, I'm not saying I support any of these scenarios that have been brought up. I am just saying....I could actually see this one happening.

IA, which is why I get a tad nervous about a Ben-Ash pairing .... not sure she's kind/gentle enough for him.... Though maybe his being a less competitive personality (as edited) gives her an oppty. to let down her guard, and allow her sensitivity to come out in a safe way....?

The brief edit of what we saw in Hong Kong looked emtional, steamy and intense. We'll never know what went on but JP can't hold water so I'm sure if he was feeling something strong, he told her and they cannot show it. She said a whole lot more than they normally show either while she explained why she was telling him about Bentley.

Like I've said, you've got two people who have no poker face and who wear their hearts on their sleeves. It's impossible to show them too much because of the way they look at each other. It's hard to miss unless you have some vested interest in seeing otherwise.

Ashley thought that JP was coping just fine so proceeded on with her dates because she owes it to herself and her contract. BUT, the minute she realized that he was not really dealing with things, she did start making clear and concise decisions. It's so funny that the episode began with JP saying that he just wanted to get through the week, get to hometowns and get Ashley back to New York so they can continue what they started. Something made him think that he had every right to feel that she shouldn't go on any other dates. I don't think any of the other guys are happy about it either but they just aren't shown saying it. Ames seems to relay that the remaining guys are invested and will be heartbroken if they are sent home but, save Constantine ... her eye candy only, aren't saying anything on camera. She ends the episode by saying that she just wanted to get back to the US and meet the families. I think they are both ready for it to be over except she's got the harder job because she has to see the other guys and continue the process until the FRC no matter how she feels about him or anyone else.

you gotta keep in mind the man lives in hollywood where marriage equates to getting your car washed and waxed every few months :awesome:

ETA: come to think of it why don't they use the celebrity types for this show?? they probably couldn't afford them but it would be a perfect fit!! wasn't jennifer love hewitt angling for the next bachelorette role? why does MF go after regular people if he wants them to do las vegas type marriages??

Smiley That is true. Maybe MF can get JLo. She and Marc are splitting after 7 years which I guess equates to a lifetime in Hollywood.

I keep hoping they'll get John Stamos but Fleiss is not listening to me! The nerve! :giggle:

Seeing a celebrity on the show would be awesome, but I doubt it would ever happen. I know the Bach job has been rumored to have been offered to another pro athlete a few years ago, but that obviously didn't happen. They could go that route again. It would just be extremely difficult with such limited off-seasons for most. But this girl can dream.

But the public wouldn't identify with celebrities as they do with regular people, and they wouldn't get emotionally invested in the show.

A celebrity or athlete aren't likely to do the show for the paltry (in comparison) money they'd pay even if they upped it to get someone somewhat famous.

I actually wouldn't want either. They can get dates easily so would be kind of a joke to watch plus they'd probably want their own show altogether like so many have.
