You are probably right, but I love dusting off the "chestnuts" from earlier in the season. William says he is nervous... LOL!
They love leaving these lines in the edit for a reason. I do believe this video is a foreshadowing of things to come, but with a different bachelor...
Classic line "Oh my goodness. I did not think William would actually go through with this. What do we do now? This could be a legally binding marriage." is fittingly stated from somebody's Fantasy Suite in Fiji...

Re: Episode 7 - 7/11 - Discussion - Spoilers
A lot has been made of the fact that JP has only had 2 evening only dates and Ben, in contrast has spent more time with Ash. However, both of JP's dates have been void of a lot of activity, giving them ample time to get to know each other and, as we have seen, have mature conversations about real-world issues and struggles/feelings. To me, that is more important to the foundation of a solid relationship then looking at scenery or shopping in a foreign market.
Not so say that on those other dates that she cannot be building meaningful relationships, but you can't just discount a quiet, more real-world kind of time spent together as not enough time. Ashley may be more of a quality vs quantity kind of girl and she may have thought of/requested the quieter dates with JP because she doesn't need to be entertained by her surroundings. And, even though Ben had an overnight date, we have no idea what time they split to different rooms or even if they rode back together so to assume he had more time than most is just that, an assumption. And I don't take his comment of 36hr man as evidence because Ben knows what show he is on and guys like to talk "big" around other guys.
If I recall, and I could be wrong, but Chantal had some pretty long dates last season (Catalina Island and the late-night date in Brad's room) and that didn't work out so well for her. Well, maybe it did

I thought it was interesting but I'm not sure why he was acting skittish. I know he wanted to talk to her but he seemed really embarrassed up there IMO. His whole dramatic day was purely entertaining to me. I felt bad for him but I was laughing at his antics and his complaining. I don't know how he's going to handle the stress before the FRC. He's going to worry himself into oblivion.ironcat wrote:Does anyone find it interesting that Ashley asked JP if posing for wedding photos was what was making him nervous, ie, his bad "mood" was caused because he was uncomfortable with the thought of having a wedding with her (boy, she couldn't have been more wrong about that), then when they finally sat down and he told her about his jealousy, she was actually relieved that his mood was caused by that and not "cold feet" so to speak.

Coastal wrote:CHO wrote:I also see JP's reactions to Ben's date and Ashley's kissing Lucas for the wedding photos as a bit of a red flag. I just find that kind of jealousy exhibited by mood swings, can't stick around - "storming out" and then telling Ashley all about his insecurities as unattractive, and manipulative. But we are all different and I enjoy reading how others are seeing it. Ashley has to keep JP around even if she is not falling in love with him. He may be her F1 but if she is falling for Ben - she still has to keep JP around and the way you do that is to keep him happy - thus reassuring him that all is ok by giving him the rose. (It worked). She may be giving it to him because she really does care for him and doesn't want him to be upset. We shall find out. Interesting that Ben is not that worried about her feelings for him. Isn't this a common scenario - the F2 (maybe JP) is not getting the reassurance they need - thus constant torment (remember Chantal's tears?)
But what I question is - the depth of JP's apparent love for Ashley. Pretty much immediately he was totally smitten - he complains about how little time they have spent together - has to flip a coin to get her to kiss him (impatient). Then the ep 3 date - an evening only date - she was depressed over Bentley - and she falls asleep ! By HK - she should know how he feels - he has never really told us what about her he has fallen for - does he even know? Another mostly serious date - clearing the air etc. To me he seems over anxious, insecure, feeling threatened. Is he really in love or is it the competition, possible loss of pride etc. ? It goes without saying that I am more imoressed with Ben's careful approach - and of course having been in the Bach bubble - it is important to get a reality check and see how things go on the htd. Ben is being specific about his feelings and how they are growing for Ashley. If I were Ashley, I would feel a lot more secure being told why he feels the way he does - instead of the you know how I am feeling approach.
I know it's been discussed before - but I think A is spending time with Ben - 2 long dates - for a reason. How can she believe in her love for JP after spending so little time with him ? She is a smart girl - I don't see her as being impulsive. You don't convince yourself that you are in love with one person by spending more time with the others as a comparison .....
I may be surprised by a JP ending - and if so I wish them well - but I at this stage am suspect.
Very impressive post and so true. JP has had 2 part day dates. Ben has had 2 all day dates and well into the evening on both dates as well. That really does play into it for sure.
JP also didn't get any type of date with Ashley in the second episode as well. Not that this means anything of course, since we all remember Jillian picked Ed and he spent a lot less time with her than Kiptyn and Reid.

Wait, I don't know if this is a weird thing now but doesn't everyone love when you have a kiss and then the guy kisses your cheek/nose/forehead right afterwards? I thought it was normal! LOL. It's transferring the kiss from just sexual to something sweeter.
PS: Now I really want to kiss someone. Hee.
It's just not enough for you to live vicariously through the Cupcake couple anymore, huh, Alanna? :blinkingheart:
You're right, I just need to rewatch their HK date instead.

JP was feeling stupid and embarrassed because the whole thing was stupid and embarrassing. Just like the fake wedding was stupid and embarrassing. Posing for a fake wedding photo in front of an obviously fake wrinkled canvas back drop is supposed to be fun how exactly? Shoot, if these guys were totally into that ridiculous "date" I'd be more concerned with their mental health that I would be worried about JP's supposed "anger / jealousy issues" or his impatience. In fact, the fact that he showed a human side during that debacle makes me like him more, frankly.
The groups dates have SUCKED this season.
And I'm really curious. Are people this invested in the outcome that they really care about who is the F1? The F1 "prize" didn't work out that well for Emily. Like it or not, Chantal is the one who lucked out in the F2 spot as she is now happily engaged and living a normal life, by all accounts. From what I see, and whether this is real or all editing I don't know, but the attraction definitely says it's either Ben or JP. They both seem like great guys (lucky Ashley) so she really can't go wrong either way. And let's face it, the whole relationship will most likely be kaput in 3-6 months anyway, so I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over whether JP seems to have "issues" with jealousy or whether Ben is going too slow or is in zombie-mode or is too laid back. I watch for the hot guys, the scenery, and mostly the snark.
Sad, but true. The days of Ian and Meredith in the hammock are long over for this viewer.

I watched episode 7 for 3rd time tonight and I realized that the scene showing JP going out of a door ,was actually the door of his room, where he was shown putting on a shirt a few segments before and you can see the mirrored closet at the back of JP. The main door to the living room where the guys were sitting was a wide double door that was shown when Ben came back from the date. Yes JP stood up while the guys were talking but where did he go? If he stormed out ,why did they not show him going out of the main door?Maybe he just got up to go pee and that edited as him storming out :-)
:-)

You've only watched it three times, bing? I'd say you're a little behind...get with the program, girl!
Off to go back and watch that scene to analyze the doors. It will only be my cough*fifth*cough time tonight. :awesome:

Great post. I pretty much agree with everything you said. I definitely have a favorite, but even if Ashley does end up picking my favorite, it'll probably only last 6 months at best. Let's be honest. Anything that lasts on the show is an exception. I mostly only watch for the hot guys, the drama, and the ridiculous dates. I don't really watch for a "love story". I won't even care about this season anymore once "The Bachelor" starts up and I'll have a new favorite.

That's what I was thinking. She and JP covered a lot of ground in both dates and shared some pretty important/heavy stuff. Ben's last date included 4 hours to the National Park (I assume he was in a separate car than Ashley) and 4 hours back. They have to take a break to get ready for dinner so there is a lapse in there too.
I guess I would have preferred a moonlit train ride vs. a walk around a market.

All he said was that when JP was upset, he got quiet. So what? Guys get into bad moods for any number of reasons on any number of days. I'm sure everyone's quirks came out while they bunked together. It didn't sound as chronic and irritating as Ryan's perpetual perkiness. JP was upset about Ashley going out with his friends. I think he had just cause and if the guys were upset about him not wanting to talk about it, they sound like babies too! LOL! Lucas and JP were mutually threatened by one another it seems. Look at Lucas during Ames' photo shoot. His facial expressions looked worse than JP's. Both guys should have taken a walk around the back of the studio instead of punishing themselves by watching ...
it's not what he said - it's that he's knows this is how JP reacts when the gets angry/jealous/whatever. How would Lucas know this if he hadn't seen it before??? What would JP have to be so mad about prior to this episode that he would have behaved that way??? Again - it's just telling the story, I'm not saying JP is a bad person.
It reminds me a lot of when Corrie did her comedy routine around Vienna - we knew from Vienna's edit she wasn't the nicest girl in the house, but we got more infomation from Corrie that we had no idea about.
So can we fairly make the assumption that JP was the only guy in the house who ever exhibited any anger or jealousy the whole time these guys spent with each other? I don't doubt that over the course of several weeks together in close quarters, it was not all singing Kumbaya all the time, and many of the guys may have also been in bad moods over something on occasion (or more than one occasion). Since it wasn't relevant to Lucas' interview, we wouldn't have heard about it though. Nothing that Lucas said about JP's moods indicated that it was extreme or a habitual problem, and we don't even know if it bothered anybody else besides him (and it's pretty clear from other things he's said that he's not JP's biggest fan in the first place, and they apprear to have very little in common as well, particularly on an emotional level).
IMO, the habitual part definately was stated and made clear......considering how they (Ames, Ryan and Lucas) all noticed these habits of his before.........I'd say that was habitual?? IMO.

Right. First of all, Lucas obviously doesn't like JP. There can only be one alpha in the pack and it wasn't the chill winemaker, Constant Sleep (thanks Steve!), Space Mountain (thanks Northern!), nor was it Lucas and he's pissed.
Second of all, let me get this straight. JP reacts to being upset/angry by talking with his (potential) partner and being open and vulnerable with her. He doesn't make her feel insecure, which we all know he could accomplish in five seconds by merely hinting that he's leaving her/the show, and watching her cry, beg, and work herself up. Then they :nuzzle: , kiss, and makeup. OTOH, he doesn't run telling random dudes about his emotions or punch walls. And this is all a problem because, why exactly?
First of all, it wasn't just Lucas that knows JP is moody and dark..........Ames and Ryan also knew of it and commented about it while they were sitting around the table having their breakfast.
Second, Actually actually never saw his reactions and his moods........just got the second hand info about it from JP later on. Whose to say she would of approved of his reaction to things. She even looked surprised and a little concerned with his jealousy statements...........just sayin.
