I have written this before but feel it is worth repeating....never in a million years did I ever think JP was dangerous, abusive, etc. I have only mentioned his jealousy in terms of the edit of showing it.

I have read your posts and enjoyed them. Please do not think that my comments were meant for you. I don't want to speak for Mary, but for myself I did not write that post as an accusation. It's more about putting things in perspective. I also have said that I respect those here who view his behavior in a negative light. I know that they are not saying he is necessarily abusive, but sometimes it seems as though some do read a lot more into what goes on here. I am not here to change anyone's minds, tell them what to say or what to think. However, I will stand up for JP and defend him right to the ground. After watching the episode again, I feel even more strongly that JP's behavior was not nearly as terrible as some have made it out to be. That is my personal opinion. I saw fear, insecurity, pain and doubt in JP's eyes. The kind of jealousy he was feeling was what I have felt in my life at times. While I certainly never had an experience like this, where everything is playing out in front of an nationwide audience, I have been involved in relationships where I was not sure if the person cared for me as much as I cared for them. I acted like JP. My friends didn't condemn me and supported my feelings.

We can go around and around, but I don't know that we will all agree about what happened. JP has also been called controlling and possessive. Now those are characteristics that can be considered part of an abusive personality. Again all I can say is that I don't see any of that behavior in JP. His supposed jealousy seems understandable given the circumstances. People are not all cut out of the same cloth. Different people react in different ways. The guys were teasing him and JP just wanted to have his feelings and didn't want to participate in any lighthearted jesting. He told the guys how he felt and didn't want to talk. He got out of the room to deal with his emotions. All he really needed was reassurace and he got that from Ashley when she gave him the rose. It relieved his fears, anxiety and insecurity.

Bloomers, let me ask you a hypothetical question. If JP was the one who Ashley chose, do you think that TPTB would be more prone to edit out JP's jealousy in order to "protect" the image of the F1, or would they be more likely to have included it for drama, if they felt it would make the episode more interesting? In other words, which is more important to them, in your opinion, giving the F1 a clean edit, or creating a "better" show?

I don't think there is a standard edit. If there were, there wouldn't be outrage of sorts every season. They aren't doing a very good job of selecting bachelors these days. Seems all they do is make it apparent why these guys are bachelors. Was Andy Baldwin the last decent one? He still cannot find anyone either.

Right, what else were they going to show us and like CC found (great job, again, girl!!), they even had to edit in some of JP's jealousy to make it better.

As for do we find it attractive or not? Some of us will and some won't. To me, it was cute, I loved their sweet, open discussion over it, and I think it made Ashley feel loved.

I think they edited in JP's journey to show how compassionate they are towards one another.

I know your comments weren't aimed at me, or anyone, really. I do think a lot of us look at the jealousy as "how does that fit into the edit"? That's why I wanted to say it again.
The edit on this show is sad sometimes. I remember Brad saying both his F2 girls were edited so one sided. And we all know that one small flaw could be edited and blown into proportions 1000 times over. Too bad so many don't realize that, especially non message board readers.

Personally, I wish someone would start a thread to discuss JP's "jealousy," his "dagger looks," etc.--a thread for those who want to beat it do death can hang out--a thread that those who are sick and tired of hearing about it can skip reading!
