I believe Ryan's date is the last date of the episode, so the other interpretation could fit. I admit I didn't consider it at first, and it's still somewhat misleading, probably purposely, if it really does apply to Ryan. I am sure the producers want the viewers to assume it applies to JP, whether it does or not.

I wasn't sure as one guide I read made it sound like there might be 3 1/1's and then the group date but it was probably just how they categorized them.

I just went back and watched when JP was carrying Ashley back to where the guys were. They showed Ryan definitely reacting to that. He also makes the comment that the jealousy is starting. I can see where the jealous guy could be Ryan.

IIRC, the background music definitely added to the heartbreak.

Obviously, I haven't seen the episode yet but I wonder if I (along with the people I watch the show with) will be feeling heartbroken for Ryan or cringing at what is shown because of his edit so far. People are already talking about how sad the Emily interview will be, so hopefully there is some humor and playfulness for the viewers. When the show leans heavily on the emotional and sad side, it isn't too enjoyable (IMO).

I am with you, Alanna. I mean no disrespect to the people that are feeling it for Ryan, but like Jelle so eloquently said, there are contestants that hit us the wrong way and we don't know why. Ryan is one of those for me. I have really tried to like him and I just can't. If he is the next Bachelor, will I watch? Absolutely! Will I be invested in the outcome? Nope! It will be like another Jake season for me. And I'm okay with that. :yes:

Most of them have shown signs of jealousy or at least shown as being competitive. Even laid back Ben bragged to JP about kissing Ashley. These are men so it's no surprise that they get competitive or jealous.

Ditto ditto ditto. The producers did a very poor job of establishing him as an appealing character in his own right, probably because Ashley had no use for him, much as Jillian had no use for Jake romantically speaking, and he (exactly like Ryan) was the contestant who just wouldn't go away. Ryan gets his first 1:1 in episode SEVEN and then goes home that night. Ashley had no long term use for him, but Casting did. You can smell it a mile away, as everyone here has for months.

boy I really hope MF is compensating AshS for all her tweeting - she sure is laying it on thick.

I wish people would stop tease tweeting.
