Chantal O'Brien - Bachelor 15 - Discussion

Well, it is only an engagement, after all. It's not like they ran out and eloped! We have no idea when the actual wedding date will be. Perhaps they will get married in a year...that would be 18 months after initially becoming a couple. Perfectly respectable amount of time.

And at the risk of being on of those people...my SIL met her husband on the love boat (I kid you not, a cruise on the Pacific Princess) and 6 months later they were MARRIED. Got preggo on their honeymoon too. That kid is in her 2nd year of college, two others at home, and they are still happy.

Depends on the couple, but these things can work out with a short engagement.

I never said engaged - 6 months is fine, as long as they have a long engagment - I would hate to see her rush to marry - hope I cleared that up.

Oh, no need to clear it up.......JMO if they are married tomorrow I wouldn't think it's rushing, no matter how long they wait they only have a 50/50 chance of staying married...

She was introduced to Jeff before the show and yet went on the show and fell in love with Brad (her words, not mine) then came home hooked up with Jeff and fell in love again, in a short, short period of time. In between all of this falling in love, tried to hook back up with her ex. She's not off to a good start. She sounds like my nephew, left his first wife for another, married her, then she cheated on him. Then met another one in a short time, married her, found out she was a nut, then divorced her, met another in a short period of time and married her, guess what found out she was a nut too...divorced her. Get my point, learn how to be by yourself for a while. Chantal don't even know what love is.

First bolded: They spent longer together prior to getting engaged than any of the couples this show produces, which supposedly are madly in love.

Second bolded: Allegedly. No proof.

Third bolded: Sure she do. :D She's been surrounded with it her whole life.

They might make it and they might not, but they've got as good a foundation, and probably better, than any of the couples discussed on this forum. JHMO, of course.

Well harsh words have been spoken about others, that people don't know either, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I don't know Chantal personally, just know the words that are coming out of her mouth and old enough to know love don't flow like that. When she gets older, she will look back and see that herself.

1. Do we know exactly, when she hooked up with Jeff, was it right after she arrived home.

2.Proof never stopped us with anybody else. Like I've already said what's good for the goose, good for the gander.

3. Growing up around it, has nothing to do with, knowing whether you are really in love or just think you are. Something you have to know within for yourself.

The *facts* are none of us know anything about her relationship with Jeff, aside from a very few twitter photos and the news she is engaged and happy. That's because she's kept things very private, and doesn't feel the need to tweet every single blessed thing about her life to complete strangers.

The *facts* are that the rumour of her and the 'ex' is just that: rumour. The ex hasn't come out of the woodwork to call up the nearest tabloid mag and spill the beans. Perhaps because there are no beans to spill?

The *facts* are nobody can tell anyone else, particularly someone they don't know from Adam, whether they are ready to fall in love or get married or not, because, well, we aren't them. We don't share a brain or a heart, we don't walk in their shoes, and thankfully they don't walk in ours.

I'm amazed that there seems to still be such animosity towards "them" and "us" from last season. I will go on record as saying I didn't like Brad all that much, didn't know Emily except for the highly one-note version that Fleiss gave us, but like the sarcastic Mom Emily I read about quite a bit, and I loved Chantal. Time to let things go. It's good for the soul. Chantal has been nothing but gracious in any comments about Brad, Emily and the show since it ended. I think she deserves some happiness, frankly.

you're preaching to the choir here - I agree that Chantal being engaged is moving way too quickly.
