Chantal O'Brien - Bachelor 15 - Discussion

It's pretty quick. Show wrapped around Thanksgiving. That's 6 months.

Chantal was introduced to Jeff by a friend long before she went on the Bachelor. This situation reminds me of Melissa Rycroft Strickland. She already knew Tye and they got engaged not too long after her breakup with Jason Mesnick.

That isn't quick to me. My son got engaged to my dil in 6 months. They fell in love immediately. 4 days in they knew they were in love. They didn't marry right away and Chantal may not either. When you have been in love for months and discussing your future it is hard not to make it official.

Another thought. Look at Ali and Roberto. Now that was quick. :db:

right, but Melissa had been in a relationship with Tye before doing Jason's season. Chantal only started dating Jeff after filming wrapped. I just hate to see anyone rush into marriage. and as to Roberto and Ali, yes, that was quick, but they're still engaged - they took the time to slow down and be sure (and still no wedding date set - that we know of) that's all I want for Chantal.

Another ditto here! I'm very happy for her as she's one of my favorite contestants of all time. I just don't want anything to upset her happy ending.

Wow, I'm surprised that an engagement after a 6mo relationship is considered quick? I think it's the perfect amount of time. In fact, I just recently read a study that if the couple doesn't get engaged by the 1year mark, chances that it'll ever happen dramatically increase. Tenley, be careful!

Oh and that ring? Wow. It's a ROCK. Good for her! She deserves the best :missclap:

I love her ring too, Alanna! May I add that Jeff is HOT too.

I love Chantal so happy for her, she was my absolute favorite.....Count me in on one of those who doesn't think 6 months is too short to become engaged....

Count me in too. At their age, they already have done the hits and misses and know what they want and they found that in each other. There is no time limit on that Some guys just move faster on it than others. If it's gonna work, it works no matter how long date.

I agree too. My parents got married after 2 weeks of knowing each other (still together 30 years later). Not that I support that but they were well into their 30's and lived a little life and knew what they wanted in a relationship before jumping in.

Really at the 6 month point (sometimes before) I'm at the poo or get off the point with guys. I'm looking for a relationship when I date. Not a steady bed buddy (can get that anywhere without the relationship hassle realistically). So at 6 months I can tell if it's going to work or not. If it's going to work I give it a little more time if not then cut the cord. Usually this involves a talk with my partner and usually what I find is that the partner isn't sure about settling down. I've got too much life to wait around for someone who isn't sure after 6 months of dating and isn't able to say this is going some where or not (usually that's what I'm looking for not a ring).

Hooray! Chantal + Jeff = Chef! Go cook up some gorgeous babies (after the longish engagement, beautiful wedding and some setllin' down time). :bom:
