frankly, I know a lot of casual viewers who don't put as much stock into this show us those of us who sleuth it do. They look at it for what it is - a trainwreck and mostly pretend. After 21 seasons and 1 success to date - is it any wonder?? Some do look for and see a love story (whether it's there or not) but a lot of my friends stopped watching this season after all the Bentley drama, and those that are, are already saying the relationship (no matter who she picks) won't last. I agree with them.

and I bet dollars to donuts we will hear about the Bent one tonight -guaranteed!!

Seems the new pattern for Bachelorette's is to cut part of their show to explain the break-up from the previous season of the Bachelor...aka Jake/Vienna during Ali's season.

there shouldn't be a cocktail party during tonight's epi - there wasn't one last season (remember how the girls were shown walking to the beach for the RC) IIRC, at F6 (really F5 when Ryan leaves) there typically isn't a cocktail party.That could solve the 10-15 minutes that will be delegated to Em.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Twitter and blog feedback often suggests that many think she's not good enough for him as things stand now. If it begins to look like he's being cast aside or toyed with in some way by her - I can only imagine the reaction. It's almost like she's tolerated because of JP. He's the one with the fanbase not Ashley and so people will be more forgiving of his jealous angst. More people want what's best for him than her.

I don't see a lot of tolerance for editing mindgames at this point. Maybe if they had kicked off the "competition" earlier, say episode 2 or 3, viewer support wouldn't be so lopsided, but they misfired on that one.

Exactly, just for example the fan pages on facebook - Ashley is over 3900 fans, JP is over 3800 fans and Ben had as of yesterday just under 300 fans. As for twitter, I did a search yesterday by just their names (no bachelorette, ashley reference, etc), Jp Rosenbaum had pages & pages of tweets about missing him this week with no show. There was half a page of Ben Flajnik. The viewing public LOVES JP, Ben's numbers will certainly increase after his date this week but I don't think he will come close to the same impact as JP with only 3 shows left after this Monday's episode.

Does Ben even have a FB in his name or is it Evolve Wines? I certainly don't know of one. Hard to compare a business name that most don't know with a fanpage but IA that more people probably do like JP. That's the way the show is edited so far and he seems to be likable enough.

The point is not who out there thinks Ashley will pick JP (or nobody) but the way he's being edited. They haven't tried to hide anything between Ashley & JP and are even going all out to give him the tux to go with the gown in the group date instead of a dorky outfit like the other guys. Ben is starting to being shown more and we're now seeing there is a romance going on so how the next date is edited should be interesting. I don't think it's too late for him to be shown as a potential f1 because it's only been in recent years that the show has been so long.

I checked a couple of older shows. Trista's was very quick with the HTD's in epi 4 and FRC in epi 7. Meredith's HTD's were in epi 5, and FRC was epi 8. Charlie's was HTD in epi 5 (Sarah B's 1 on 1 date was epi 4) and finale in epi 8. This show is going to be 11 episodes before it's over so there's a ton more time in comparison.

It would not surprise me if because there was no media circuit per usual, if MF did not somehow stir the pot :stirthepot

with his own networking via the rags and paps and have false or sensitive things published that had little to no truth to them...kind of retribution. If you can't get them to talk, make stuff up about them with a kernel of truth. He gets his pound of flesh and publicity either way.

Kash...I'm rather shocked that you don't seem to believe that MF is personally invested in the success of these couples more than ratings=$$$$$$! giggling

He's probably really ticked he came so close to getting his AFR wedding with B & E and it turned into the "painful and honest truth" and "couples therapy" AFR instead. What a blow to his ideal "fairytale ending"!

My guess is MF wasn't happy that Emily was F1. It spoiled his plan for her to be the next B'ette. However, a wedding filmed to be shown at ATFR would have tickled him silly, so it wasn't a bad consolation prize. But then when that fell thru, all he could hope for was a break up before ATFR so that he could once again try to nab Emily for B'ette. Well, we know how that turned out. So when Kasha mentions retribution above, it fits right in.

I dont' believe he gives a rats ass what happens to any of the couples post-season, otherwise he wouldn't throw his leads and contestants under the bus every chance he gets. If he really wanted Bremily success he wouldn't have set up an AFRC that showed us why they weren't going to work.

The couples that succeed, do so in spite of MF.

He only wants an FRC wedding because he knows it would draw huge numbers - and believe you me, he would definitely let that spoiler out of the bag.

remember, this is the guy who came up with the "Who wants to marry a Millionaire" trainwreck

Could someone please explain why she is doing this interview in the first place? If she wants her privacy, she should just - be private. Brad didnt go to LA to be interviewed. I imagine they pressured him. Apparently the producers cant force people to talk. (They aren't some spy agency with a torture chamber. Are they?)

I guess Emily is talking to the camera because she wants to. I still think she has other tv plans in her sights.

I disagree that Fleissmeister and Co don't want the couples to succeed. They know Ali and Roberto, Trista and Ryan and even Jason and Molly are the gifts that keep on giving. There are weddings to air, ATFR therapy sessions to host, BP challenges to judge, and interviews/updates every few months. He11, he's pimping out Ali's proposal on an Emmy bid for the show. Why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs? They just need to figure out a good balance in learning to promote and protect their final couple while still giving enough drama and suspense in for majority of viewers.

I didnt' say he didn't want them to succeed - I just don't think he cares whether or not they do. He's had Tryan forever now, and trotted Mary and Byron out as many seasons as they were still together. I'm not saying he doesn't want some successes - I'm just saying it's not his ultimate goal.

If MF really wanted Ash to succeed with her F1, he would never have allowed any of the Bent drama, or he wouldn't have allowed Ryan to return after he was ejected. Drama, money, ratings are the name of his game.

So anders, do you think it is possible MF is starting to let the spoiler out of the bag in his tweet regarding tonight's episode and there being a big clue to the eventual outcome of Ashley's season? Not necissarily the FRC but possibly the AFR? Or do you think he is jerking us around with the obvious assumption it is the bride/groom photoshoot with JP, when it is actually Ash spending the first night of many to come with Ben?
