Have you all seen this cuteness?  Someone took these backstage area when the camera wasn't on.  She either had just changed into the outfit to dance with Charlie or just finished dancing.

I wish Meryl would put Maks out of his misery and ours too and date this poor sap already.

I, too, have a feeling the ball here is in Meryl's court and I'm not so sure she is ready for this ... that really is my hesitation.  She is from a different planet than him, you see it even in how they choose to dress and hold themselves, and I just don't know if her family would be all that excited about it; this is the type of guy parents usually hope their daughter's stay away from (while mom lusts after him for herself).  But for Mak's sake, yes, I hope she decides to go for it.  She really does seem to be good for him.

Oh yeah, Midwest mom and dad must have been horrified as heck to see Maks and their sweet, adorable All American ice dancing princess all over each other on tv each week  But I saw that they're going to his dance studio's performance in July when Meryl will be in Japan so they must have softened if they needed to towards Maks and his mic throwing and Meryl's butt patting ways.

I think Maks has gotten a bad rap: I watched a youtube of why he got his tattoo and it is a very soft Maks. He talked about respecting his mother, about how important family is and that blood is thicker than water. As I listened to that I thought that any parents would be proud to have him come home with their daughter. He is from a very old fashioned family, I think IF they are an item and they stay together (their careers would make it so hard) they would be a very loving couple with family as the most important focus.

I saw on one video where he said the bad boy was the role he was assigned to play. Sounds just like TPTB on the Bach franchise. If you don't have the link if you could just tell me where I can find it I would appreciate it. The way that Maks mentions his mom so much and that he is giving her his MBT speaks of what kind of son he his and how much he loves his mother. Meryl knew what she was talking about when she said all the nice things about him and was probably right about him being a big softie and a big Teddy Bear, at least where she is concerned.

I actually agree with you for the most part! I think his bad boy image is just that- am image! It says a lot that after all his blonde bombshells, he's crying over his last freestyle with a tiny brunette   

My stalking of the ABC forum, which led me to TWOP, has also revealed that while they were filming DWTS and traveling to her Stars on Ice performances, people called Maks Mery's Little Lamb because instead of going to the hotel like Sharna, he would hang out and watch Meryl and Charlie and just never leave her side. So yeah, another point for soft and gentle to win the day.

I doubt their relationship is ever going to kick off the ground will all the traveling and careers they both have, but if circumstances and timing were different, they would have been a really adorable, special couple. Oh well. They'll always have the tango!

Apparently the tshirt his studio created is called Gone with the Win with Meryl and Maks almost kissing. Hmm way to NOT play up the romance/showmance/whatever

On the bad boy thing, I never thought of him as "bad," but he is moody and temperamental, and that can be difficult in a relationship.

I think the biggest hurdle right now, though, would be that I don't think Meryl is ready to give up her career and go the wife and mother route, and that is what Maks once said broke him and Karina up.
