Marquel Martin for The Bachelor 19

After watching Marquel get eliminated last night, I immediately felt the loss.  I think Marquel has everything that it takes to pull off being the first black bachelor.  He's handsome, honest, cool tempered, and has a very open heart.  Many women of all colors would love to have a catch like Marquel.  I know this has been discussed in the past, but I think now is the time for ABC to change it up.  Marquel would be loved by everyone.  I hope ABC is thinking about this.

I'm on the Marquel for Bachelor train too. He's just an all around great guy that would infuse some oomph into the franchise. They'd be crazy to ignore the campaign for Marquel as the next lead.

I love Marquel and there were a lot on Twitter saying the same thing last night. I tweeted Fleiss and retweeted Sean's tweet promoting Marquel as the Bachelor.

There's even an article in Time magazine titled "Marquel Martin should be the next Bachelor".

He and having a more mixed racial cast would be a breath of fresh air. However, I think Millsy will have to reign in his tweets.

They are probably squealing in ecstasy, dollar signs flashing in front of their eyes, knowing how many people would tune in to watch!! I am sure they are already planning his exemplary edit on BIP!!

I hope so! I'd hate to get my hopes up though. I'm SO glad there's so much buzz about him, we were talking next Bachelor based on his pre season pics, solid guy, funny, and good looking, win!

Marquel the human being should be the bachelor, forget about the skin color. IMO, he is the type of man any woman should want as a partner or mate.

That would be ideal, but we are talking about this franchise and these producers. I don't think that would be possible.    Look what they did to the single parent and before that--the divorcee.

   I just watched his part again where he talks about wanting to be looked at and not have the first thought that he is a black man. His tears broke my heart. He is a charming, funny, stylish, sensitive and handsome man. If he doesn't get scooped up by some lucky woman post show, something is wrong with young single women out there. And the man bakes cookies!!!

i love this whole thread! Obviously I'm team nick on bachelorette but I love me some cookie monster!! Marquel you are awesome.

If he had known he was going to be this popular, I'm sure he wouldn't have done BIP but it's too late now. I just can't see them making him the Bachelor right after being on BIP.
