doesn't it matter most who the lead wants - whether Dino thought Ben liked Ash more than he did?? For someone to leave means they weren't feeling it, and the religion was a nice excuse, if not the entire reason, which I can't phathom since he did go on this show, and prolly found out soon enough Ash wasn't GO.

Oh, I think he knew for a while that he wasn't really feeling it with her, but may have stuck around to see if anything all of a sudden developed. Then, I'm sure going back home was a bit of a wakeup call for him, and he realized that he couldn't let himself get that much further without being expected to propose. And by the point of F3, if he wasn't eliminated, he may have thought it very well could have been his "bro" Ben in his place; prior to that, he probably always assumed that there was someone else who'd go first, but at 3, they're really getting down to the wire, and he may have just decided to get out before he took the chance that he could actually end up knocking his buddy out of the competition.

Well, he knew that she had strong bonds with both Ben and JP so he took himself out to save face/being not given a rose. It's all good, though. I didn't like him. LOL!

he got out because he didn't want to be in a position to propose - I highly doubt it had anything to do with Ben, since Dino had no control over Ash's F1 decision.

They were definitely just buddies! Compare that to JP and Ash kissing in the seasplane, Ben carrying Ash in his arms, and what do we see of Ash and Dino's FD? They're high-fiving in the helicopter! Yeah, just buddies.

What I don't understand is why he waited that long to bring up the issue of religion? Did he just want the travel? Was he really feeling it for Ashley? I can't figure that out.

That is my question. Why let it go so far? Why not bail sooner? Also, Ashley did say in her blog that she realized during her hometown date how important Constantine's religion is for him. I think once his father said not to rush into anything, maybe that was what he needed to hear. Staying overnight with her when he knew there was nothing happening and he was never going to get engaged, might have been the right time for him to just finally say that's it.

I think this is it. After he put Ashley into the car at the HT, he went back into the house. We didn't see the talk he had with his parents/family before he had to leave. I'm sure he got a few minutes to talk with them before the producers rushed him off to wherever they make them stay. Dad probably had just enough time to re-inforce the idea with Dino.
It wasn't that Dad did not like Ashley because clearly he did, but Dad wanted Dino to take his time, and this process doesn't allow for that. This is the first time, I think, where we have heard the Bachelorette plainly asked if she is expecting a proposal at the end of this process, and we hear her say, "Yes."
Therefore, the only chance Dino had to tell Ashley he wouldn't be able to propose to her would be at the Fantasy Date.

You could be right, but if for some reason, Dino hadn't said anything, and Ashley decided to eliminate Ben instead of him (because she felt it would be easier on Ben to leave before he might have proposed), Dino could have looked at it as he had caused Ben to lose his chance to win the girl by sticking around in his place. Of course, he had no way of knowing for sure who Ash was going to pick, but if Ben is still in contention, he still has a shot; if he's been sent home (because Dino's still there), he obviously has no shot (unless he pulls a Ryan :giggle: ).

And I'm not saying this was the reason, but it could have factored into things as well as not wanting to propose and getting that wakeup call from his parents (which was certainly the main reason).

If Dino didn't think he was going to end up with the girl there would be no need to talk about how important Religion was in a marriage. Up til now, their connection has been slow and remember they all thought she was really into Ryan by the number of roses she gave him. (In addition to her obvious attraction to JP and Ben) He prob didn't think he had a chance to advance to the end. Now he has so now Religion becomes an issue. Maybe it is a simply case of not needing to cross a bridge until you get to it.

This thought also occurred to me....We know how wonderful Dino's Greek family Hometown came across. We also know from a pre-season tweet that a family member indicated that Ryan had sent home a notice letting them know he had one more episode to go and he would have a hometown visit.
Now, we saw the lack of interest on Dino's part toward Ashley. I am wondering if theyencouraged Dino along to get the HOMETOWN visit from him, and then they would let him go at the Fantasy Date BEFORE the overnights just like they finally let Frank go.

How would this work for all of them? Dino and family would get the exposure for the family business. The show would get a very long, warm, fun hometown. Ashley would get a hometown with Dino instead of Ryan. The show would get a storyline - Dino cuts out at the Fantasy Date, and Ryan comes back; whereas before, Dino leaves before the Hometown, and Ryan gets the HT and maybe gets cut, or goes to the Fantasy Date and gets cut at F3 with no drama.

Makes sense to me... which, of course, means it couldn't possibly have happened that way...
