They have very hot male friends. And if Sean Cat wedding did well enough ratings wise, I just don't see why not tv for them too? I don't really think Sean was all that much more popular than Des. I could be wrong.

If they aren't doing it then they get to have control back, too bad about the money.

Sean is the most followed person from the show on twitter and Instagram I believe. And I think him, along with Catherine, are quite popular as shown but some of the opportunities they get. I know some would disagree, but Sean and SeanCat as a couple are very, very popular.

Okay, well are they as popular as Ash and JP?

I just can't imagine ABC or MF passing up the opportunity. There is a lot stupider programing.

I agree that SeanCat are very popular, and they are more social media savvy, and putting yourself out there is what makes people interested, and that pays. Being the first Bachelor to marry his pick was something new and different for them too.

Jason's season revived the franchise in a sense after a long lull and no successful matches. Now with two weddings from both a Bachelor and Bachelorette season each, maybe they're changing things up?

They are more followed than JAsh and their wedding got better ratings so I would say more popular.

There may be stupider programming, but it could also be cheaper which is taken into consideration I'm sure. These weddings aren't necessarily cheap.

Yeah, I agree; a Bachelor/ette wedding using to be a novelty, and now it seems to becoming relatively common.

Also, I wonder if they really make enough money to justify the expense of paying for the wedding and paying the couple. Most episodes of the Bachelor/ette do much better in ratings than the wedding specials, and I'm guessing the regular episodes are much cheaper to produce. I would think that Chris/Des and Ashley/JP would probably bring in about the same numbers, which is about 4 million viewers, whereas the regular episodes of Andi's season is brining in 6.5 million.

Aren't a lot of the wedding expenses comped? No real expense to ABC or MF other than the fee to the couple and possibly flying in the previous couples and interesting prior singles, ie Ali, Jef, Ari, etc

I can't believe you guys are buying in RS comments, who named him MF spokesman? I don't think they will miss the opportunity to showcase another success story. Is that mean they will not pay for Andi's wedding? How will they justify paying for one and not the other? I for one will never watch the bach again if they pull something like that, and I am not the only one, you bet your bottom dollar.

Speaking of numbers, I was curious so I checked, Des is the most followed Bachelorette after Emily on Twitter. And 3rd most followed B'ette on Instagram

But I think this might be more about timing, had her season appeared a year or two earlier, I don't think we'd be having this dicussion. I remember reading somewhere that these weddings don't do so well where viewership is concerned too.

Could be a false rumor, I hope so, but I'd also love to see a non ABC production wedding and what they do with it when the ball is entirely in their court. I'm not totally buying into it, but I'm just thinking out loud about why they wouldn't, if this happens to be true.

i prepare myself for any possiblity. I just hope my Prince will get the Milkshake Booth he wished ! with or without ABC  

i just found its odd that it seems they have already signed the initial contract with the network with their engagament party being covered by the network-related media : People, E, etc yet now we hear a possible cancellation   

this may sounds hardly possible, but not impossible : MF n co will go with Andi and her F1 Wedding instead.

I looked into it and the engagement party was not an ABC thing, but ABC/TPTB had to sign off on it, and apparently it took a hell of a job to get permission, which included lawyers wrangling back and forth. (And it almost didn't happen!)
