JP and his family are Jewish and I assume obseve the practices of such. How does a non-Jew fit into such a family? I am sure it happens all the time. How?
Constantine is assumed to be Greek Orthodox. His religious values are supposedly partially what lead him to leave. (Who said that anyway? RS?)I have always thought that Greek Orthodox was similalr to Catholic in practice. Again, is there some difficulty for a non-Greek Orthodox believer to marry into the family? What would be "required?"
I have non-Catholic and non-Mormon friends who conveted for their spouses. I have Christian friends who have married non-religious patners. Is there something about either of these religions that would be insurmountable? I have no perspective, but perhaps some of you know.
I can only speak as a non observant Jew, and assume that JP is the same, more or less (even most non observant Jews get bar mitzvahed, especially the boys), or else he most likely wouldn't have gone on the show in the first place, where he would either be assuming the lead would be Jewish, or that she'd be willing to convert. If Ashley herself is not a particularly religious person (which I assume she isn't because Lucas kind of intimated as much in his interview), there will be no problem, and they can probably celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays in a "secular" way, and kind of "play it by ear" when it comes to kids.
If Dino's family is very strict GO, they may have a problem with it even if he doesn't. Or he may just be using it as an excuse to leave before going to the FS, since I never got the feeling he was all that into Ashley in the first place.

how is that possible - Ben is in CA and Dino is in GA - wouldn't there be a day off in between for travel?

Interesting. I assume these dates may be somewhat influenced by when family members are available? Because it seems strange to have to fly across the country with no day off between Ben's date and Dino's (redeye, I guess), and then have an off day between the 3 dates that are much geographically closer, particularly JP's and Ames'.

I think the time is not adjusted for on Ben's camera guy. The times are all off. I do believe there was a day between Ben and Dino's date.

It's never been a problem for us - my husband is Jewish and I'm Protestant. Sometimes we celebrate holidays and observances of both religions, sometimes not. I know his parents would have preferred that all of their kids marry in the faith as everyone in the family had done so up until then but none of them did and it's never really been an issue in almost 25 years. Re: our child, we introduced and educated him about both religions and left it up to him to decide when he was old enough. I do think it depends a great deal on how strict and observant both parties involved are to their faith - or if one party is more flexible or willing to convert. JMO

I heard that Ashley was agnostic. There I think 5 or 6 different types that they can fall into. If Ashley falls into the categories of an Agnostic theist or Weak Agnostic it could really work with any of the guys. Meaning that while to her knowledge no proof of a deity exists the belief that one could be is still there.

I think people get too caught up on religious labels. If people were that caught up into their 'faith,' they wouldn't go on the show. DeAnna is 1/2 Greek but seems to go to a non-denominational church with the Italian Stag family in California. Molly is from a Catholic family and Jason is Jewish. There are cultural ties to many religion which outweigh the faith itself. Ashley's bigger problem w/Constantine might not be faith but dealing w/a large, clannish family where everyone is up in your business. Michelle Money, for some reason, has branded her an atheist. Do we know that is true or is she just so narrow in her LDS views that anyone who may be agnostic is atheist? Lucas definitely probably posed a problem with his 'conservative' values. I do recall one season where religion came up on an HTD. I just don't remember which season. Perhaps they should have discussed it before the bachelor brought the woman home.

Appreciate all the insight.. but why do I get the feeling this topic will expand similiar to the whole "what is a southern belle?" senario of last season?
