I need to find some hockey puck and hockey stick smiles, maybe skates too! Maybe Sharks Kings and Canadiens smiles. Any other hockey fans?

Re: NHL - NBA - MLB - Regular Season Games - Playoffs
That would be cute. I used to have some on my old computer.
I've been a hockey fan for about 20 years, since my oldest son started playing and then I went to my first professional game. I was hooked, and still am. My oldest plays roller now in the adult leagues, and I don't think he'll ever quit.
This is always the best time of year, but the playoffs make me so nervous too. I get down after my team is out, and then count the days until the season starts again. I think all three California teams are great, and any one of them could get into the finals or go all the way. I'm liking Boston or your Habs too to get to the finals. Should be some good competition this year.

Re: NHL - NBA - MLB - Regular Season Games - Playoffs
I'm the same way, I love playoffs, but they make me so nervous when my team is in. We got beat by Boston in the playoffs, last time they played and they are two big rivalry teams. Its' going to be nasty.
I countdown too after the season is over I had withdrawels during the lockout. I've been a fan every since I can remember. My son played when he was young, spent many early mornings in freezing arenas. He's frantically looking for tickets right now. He and his friends used to play pond hockey, or street hockey, they'd all come in rosey cheeks and ready for hot chocolate. We are lucky in my area, we have a few NHL players and a good history coming out of the leagues here.
Once my team is out, I root for Canadian teams first, which there's only one then I root for any team that has my former favourite players from the Canadiens I have to root for colorado, Patrick Roy was the goalie for the Canadiens for years and an awesome one at that. He's a bit of a loose cannon, but when it was announced he was going to coach Avalanche, I thought, they will win, he's not good at being a looser.
This is going to be great to be able to share our thoughts here!

Re: NHL - NBA - MLB - Regular Season Games - Playoffs
My son. Searching for tickets all day, they went on sale at 10am. They are out of their minds with prices. He went the last time they were in the playoffs, a couple of years ago to Montreal, he had two tickets, was having such a great time. They won that game, so he bought two more tickets from scalpers and stayed another two nights. He's been flipping back and forth all day trying to find a decent deal. This is his last email to me a few minutes ago Insane!
Pittsburg just beat Columbus, series 3-2 Pits and we havea fight!!!!
I'm driving to MTL and I'm either gonna meet someone at the mall on st catharine st, or store with lots of people or buy off stub hub with like an hr or two to spare. Cause they will lower the price on stub hub FOR sure if they haven't sold them yet. I'm gonna get a good deal. Patience is very key when dealing with these sellers. It's all about the psychology. They'll ask high from 9am until about 5pm. Then you'll be able to HAMMER. And who can hammer better then me? Noooooooobody!!!

Re: NHL - NBA - MLB - Regular Season Games - Playoffs
Our game is about to start. I like the competition, but don't like the nastiness (sometimes ) The inline rink where my boys play is owned by a former Stanley Cup champ Canadien from back in the 80's, so there's a big pic up in there with him holding the cup. He is also a former Shark. Great guy.
Unfortunately, no pond hockey in California, but plenty of knee hockey, street hockey, etc. My kids were DEVASTATED when I got living room furniture and took away their "knee hockey rink".
I'm hoping we close out the series tonight (no offense to Linds911). If we lose, I'm scared. Unfortunately, the Sharks have a reputation of choking in the playoffs. However, I like our chances this season.

I've got LA vs Sharks on too!
I like both LA and Sharks coaches. Is that a 3-1 series for the Sharks?
Who is the ex Canadien that owns the inline rink?

I like the coaches too. Love the current coach, Todd McLellan, and the King's current coach, Daryl Sutter, used to coach the Sharks also. Sutter is a no-nonsense kinda guy, which I like. The series is 3-1 Sharks. First two games were a blow out, but the Kings, and specifically J. Quick, just were not on their game. The third game was an OT win for the Sharks, and the last game was pretty intense and Kings won. The ex player is D. Maley.

Re: NHL - NBA - MLB - Regular Season Games - Playoffs
I love hockey!!!! My first boyfriend/fiancé played for the LA Sharks when they were in the WHA.
So a couple of weeks ago, a friend of my dh's had 4 on the floor tickets to the Duck's game, he invited my dh and my twins (13 year olds). I wasn't feeling well, otherwise I would have wrestled one of my boys for his ticket. $102.00 per ticket, I'm not willing to pay.
Before they trot off, they know nothing of the game. And I mean nothing ... not even how many periods there are, minutes in each period, icing, hat trick, etc. I gave them a quick run down, and was so completely jealous as I watched them walk out the door. Luckily for them, it was a high scoring game, Ducks lost 5-3 (IIRC), with 2 Ducks goals being taken away.
Right on the ice at the center line!

The Sutter boys were all no no nonsense kinda guys! It's amazing they are now in 3rd generation of NHL players. So many ex players do so many good things for communities. Its nice to see Maley opened an inline rink.

Yay for a hockey thread!! My dad was the one who got me into hockey. He's been a Kings fan since the very beginning and I started watching religiously since like 2006 when Anze Kopitar joined the team. He just caught my eye.
Mustang, we have a series now. Was not expecting us to be right back in it! Good luck to everyone's teams!

We sure do. That was a good game for the Kings last night. Quick was on his game. I was telling my family, if the Sharks lost last night, I am scared for the rest of the series, and they did lose. They have a history of "choking" in the playoffs. It is so frustrating as a fan, and I don't know why it is that way for them. I will always be a fan, rain or shine, but would really like them to break out of that reputation. The Kings are a tough team, so it won't be an easy series for either of us!
