Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa Reveal His Exit from 'Live' Has Been in the Works for a 'Long Time'

"He was supposed to be here for three years. We were like, 'Oh don't be ridiculous — you already moved your sofa here!'" Ripa, 52, explained as Seacrest responded, "But three turned into six because of the genuine fun of being on this television show every hour of every day."

The radio personality then explained that once American Idol returns this spring, he will "head out to the West Coast and host that show." But he promised to return to "guest host and fill in" on occasion.

It was also confirmed that Ripa's husband Mark Consuelos, 51, would step in as his replacement. Consuelos's stint will begin in the next few months, though he will be stopping by during Friday's show.

Surprised he did the show for that many years with all his jobs in the West Coast! Good luck to Ryan!

@GuardianAngel My husband told me Yoko was 90 years old and I was stunned! It seems like a lifetime ago that she and John Lennon were big news. Where did that time go? And how has she stayed so hidden all these years?

@Norcalgal I was shocked too when that came up on my twitter feed. I remember everything about John Lennon and Yoko Ono. When we went to NYC our hop on hop off driver drove by and mentioned the Dakota house where she lives. I read, maybe in that article? can't remember, she still lives there.

@chasus71 IA she was also a huge inspiration to women in abusive relationships who because of her were able to get out of their own situation.

@GuardianAngel Yes so very true. She really represented to women that no one should be treated as she was by Ike. Even more so she proved that you could survive even the lowest times in your life to rise up even more stronger than before.
