You never know with Fleiss, but I hope it's true. He is such a mean manipulative a**hole IMO.Kels0012 wrote:bluwavz wrote:Can’t comment on why @theyearofelan is no longer part of #TheBachelor team, but we wish him the best in all his future endeavors...

Good riddance. He seems like a douche to me. I'm glad he's gone if MF isn't just trolling.
The wording makes me think of the sexual harassment lawsuit from last year. Could it still be related to that, or something similar?
Just speculating.

He is one of the producers\handlers the contestant loved . It will be sad IMO if this is true.

@whit90 IA I've never heard anything negative from the contestants, they all love him. I would be interested in knowing more about what happened.

I sure hope it is true. BWG was a much better show than the others in the franchise and guess who was not a producer on it. Yep. Elan.
As far as the contestants liking him... was it because of his position on the show and future opportunities within the franchise or did they really like him as a person. I'm guessing that there were probably more than liked him for the future opportunities than as a person. JMHO.

He is still friends with many from many seasons so IMO they like him as a person.

Re: Elan Gale (Producer) & Molly Quinn - Discussion
I saw that etonline had an article about this if someone wants to bring it over. I'm surprised that more outlets haven't picked this news item up yet, but since quite a few seem to want to continue having a good relationship with the franchise maybe they won't. Elan was there for 10 years. There is probably not a large amount of staff that have stayed the same in that amount of time. I can't help, but think that things might become a little different after Colton's season. Who know what else Mills and Fleiss will come up with or what production changes there will be. JMO.

ET Online wrote:The Bacheloris shaking things up.
Creator Mike Fleiss shocked fans on Thursday when he tweeted that one of The Bachelor's executive producers was no longer part of the franchise. "Can’t comment on why @theyearofelan is no longer part of #TheBachelor team, but we wish him the best in all his future endeavors," Fleiss unexpectedly wrote on Thursday morning, without giving context.
Bachelor Nation quickly took to the comments to react to the bombshell, and a source tells ET that the tweet also came as a surprise to the production team -- but that the move seemed to be brewing for a while.
"Although he's the creator of The Bachelor and has consistently shared show news how and when he wants to with fans, production and PR teams didn't see it coming," ET's source says. "Especially on a day when the show was making the big announcement of Colton [Underwood's] women."
"The parting of ways, though, isn't as unexpected to those behind the scenes as it might seem. Elan had been working on other projects over the past few years and considering an exit," the source continues, adding that there had been some growing tension over where Gale's focus and energy lie.
ET has reached out to ABC, Warner Bros. and Gale for comment.
Gale had been with the franchise for 10 years and became close friends with many Bachelor and Bachelorette alums during that time. However, his other ambitions took shape last year, when he released his book, You're Not That Great (But Neither Is Anyone Else).
"Before I was with the show, I always wanted to be a writer, but I didn’t really have anything to write about. These last 10 years have been wonderful because I’ve traveled a lot, experienced a good amount, had my heart broken and done the things people need to do to have insight," he told ET last August. "I’ve criticized myself a tremendous amount, but I still don’t believe someone is publishing a book I’m writing. I truly think that’s crazy. … And, it’s the scariest thing I’ve ever done. It scared me to death because it’s the first thing I’ve done that you do alone."
"On TV shows and movies, there’s a big team of people ... The first draft of writing a book is something you do all by yourself. It’s totally terrifying to talk about yourself, and I’m always telling other people to do it! I talk about my sobriety, my mother’s cancer treatment and I’m really open and honest about the worst parts about myself," he continued. "I hope people can look at this book and say, 'This changed my perspective about something.' Even if you don’t agree with it."

Re: Elan Gale (Producer) & Molly Quinn - Discussion
Elan seems to me like a smart, funny and very charming guy, who can also be very mean and manipulative. All of those qualities made him good at his job. When it comes to Elan and his relationship with the contestants I always think of Catherine's comment to JP on his ATFR 'Don't bite the hand that feeds you!', even though she meant TPTB in general.

He helped a lot of contestants, that's why they love him. Ashley I calls him a second father.whit90 wrote:He is still friends with many from many seasons so IMO they like him as a person.
That's what was written about him on Jul. 5, 2018 :
https://www.eonline.com/news/947981/a-fine-line-between-boss-and-friend-a-modern-reality-tv-producer-s-struggleEnews wrote:"I trust you more than anybody here. You're the only person I talk to about anything."
Sounds like the start of an honest conversation between close friends, right? Well, it was actually a semi-private talk between Shawn Booth and his producer on The Bachelorette in 2015, where the contestant (who would go onto propose to Kaitlyn Bristowe) was emotionally unraveling, asking for advice "friend to friend" from his handler. Little did he know the rest of the production team and eventually the millions of people at home watching would also be privy to this exchange.
It was one of the first times in the ABC reality hit franchise's long history that a producer was shown on-camera, creating a small crack in the fourth wall that showed just how much emotional support producers can provide to their subjects.
Now, years later, that small crack is a full-blown waterfall, with the line between producer and friend...
And no one in Bachelor Nation walks that line more delicately than Elan Gale, the franchise's most well-known producer. A source once described Gale as "the cast whisperer," due to his ability to get even the most emotionally closed-off contestant to open up. He often refers to contestants as his children on social media.
Former contestant Sharleen Joynt, who left the show on her accord, told Amy Kaufman she considered him her "personal coach, therapist and bodyguard," in her bestselling book, Bachelor Nation: Inside the World of America's Favorite Guilty Pleasure, even though she also acknowledged his role in manipulating her emotions, instructing her to cry during her exit.
Like Joynt, many other contestants seem to be aware of the double-edged sword of befriending your producer.
"Sure, @theyearofelan has put me in difficult, emotionally charged situations and then broadcasted them to millions," Ashley Iaconetti, whose show-related tears could fill the Bachelor Mansion pool, wrote on Instagram in 2016. "However, because of him (my second father, as I call him) I'm a more outspoken, stronger, confident woman."
And Gale, along with other producers, are quick to show their affection for the cast on social media, often sharing intimate photos from set, with producer Natalie Shabtai even inviting some of the women to her wedding.
"You have to draw this weird line where you're kind of their friend, but you're not their friend. You do care for them in a sense, because you're learning all these things about them, and they're human," former producer Ben Hatta told Kaufman. "But at the end of the day, you are making television."
The bond between The Bachelor contestant and producers closely resembles friendships formed at summer camp, with an intense bond being formed in a somewhat idyllic bubble. Once the summer ends and you head home, you try and stay in touch, but eventually, school starts (or another season, in this case), and you each move on.
But you are right @whit90 , Elan is still friends with many contestants.

Actually @Maddy, I did not say that. @whit90 did when she was quoting my post.
I stand by my opinion that some of the contestants liked him because of what he could do for them in the future within the franchise. And, if he is moving on to something else in reality TV, I'm sure they will still stay "friends" with him for any future opportunities they might get because of him.

In the US Magazine he stated that his contract was up and he felt like it was time to go. He wants to spend more time at home since he would travel four months out of the year. ABC did not even know till they saw MF’s tweet. Several of the contestants have post about how much he means to them and will truly be missed. He has just been a awesome friend and has helped them out going through this show. IMO they just love him for who he is.
