Amberish reported a post by Gale1 saying she was "critical of members".

This is the offending part of the post:

I PM'd her, and edited the post just now. I was coming here to tell everyone. I didn't see the notice until just now.

I'm just being nice for the moment, I really think some of them don't understand. When things get nasty, we will be delete happy with no pm's! laugh out loud

Maybe prior to the season airing or even after filming is completed, it might be a good idea to reiterate what the site rules are. (yet again!) Then perhaps for those that are really in need of being assisted examples of what is acceptable vs what is not can be included.
The reason I say this: is it appears that what usually happens is the fan girl stuff gets out of control and seems to take priority each season over respect for fellow posters. I would caution posters who have their particular fan to seek (unicorn flavored koolaide in) the fan threads.
I seriously will have no problem deleting posts that infringe upon the rules with absolutely no explanation given to the poster whose post is being deleted.

The fan threads are fine but I don't think it's necessary to add one just because someone wants only nice posts. In this case, the Tenley & Kiptyn thread barely gets any posts as it is.

I also thought Fruit Loops was out of line defending Courtney in the BIP thread but nobody reported it so I just replied: I understand why it bothers you but this is not a fan thread and people are allowed to express opinions of those who may be on this show. She/he says they're a good friend of hers and seems to have inside info about the show.

Kasha: For sure! Posting the site rules, and letting them know, if there are inappropriate posts, they will be deleted with no explanation. That's the best way to handle it IMO. We aren't going to waste time trying to answer PM's from people. When the board was switched over, there were over 200 PM's sitting in the outbox, nothing but complaints. I read maybe half of them, then just got rid of them all. We won't let it get to that, if we can help it. Delete, end of story.

bean: yes I saw that post, and that was perfect IMO. That's what I mean, some people just don't understand that everyone can voice their opinions, that's what this is all about.

No we can't have a fan thread for everyone, and I agree Kip and Ten don't have enough going on.Same with Clare, some people wanted a fan thread because she was F2, but it's pretty much dead.

I have no problem with mod's deleting posts if they are not according to the rules, or according to the Thread topic. If in doubt, we can always come here for opinions. Thanks!

I saw your post Bean and thought it was great. I did not reply to FL only because I had just done so recently to another poster and wanted someone else to get a chance at being Queen of Mean. I don't want to hog that crown. :P

Just want to say I'm not a fan of the "fan" threads. I think they've gotten excessive. Maybe we can just keep the couples threads as long as they're popular and the most recent f2 or 3. For example the guys from Des' season don't need fan threads anymore. They can have a thread in the normal place.

I'm not going to post all my pm from Amberish but wanted to share this part:

I am so glad you shared this Bean!!
If I am not mistaken the majority of fan threads were started due to the problems we had when this forum grew so fast and members did not realize this forum was primarily started as a spoiler/sleuthing board vs a fan board(which unfortunately is in the site name).
On the board's inception, I do not believe there were any threads devoted for "fans" only and could only focus on koolaid and rainbow sprinkle teacakes.
I think fan threads were started to appease those members who could not deal with snark against the fan favs or anything that ran to the unpleasant.

Kasha, I can't remember when the fan threads started. The contestant threads are where the fans initially congregate here (as well as FORT when sleuthing was allowed), and dissention would occur when a member would post something critical in the contestant thread.

There have always been threads that remain open for updates post-season, and I'm not sure when the "update" threads were converted to fan threads. Even during Emily's season, the contestant threads were not fan threads, until post-season.

I don't mind the post-season fan threads , that way at least the fangirling doesn't find it's way into other threads with second by second updates. Sleuthers usually move one once the season is completed. My question is, how long do we keep the fan threads open? Always, until interest declines, until the next season of TB or B'ette?

Didn't they start at the end of Emily's season as a way to try to keep order? The Jemmies almost shut this place down. I don't mind the couples ones being around as long as people are posting but the other f1-4 seems to be dead and non-controversial so they could be moved once the next season starts.
