I know when my nephew passed away, my brother-in-law wanted to gain access to his son's twitter and fb acct and receive his passwords.
Both networks negated it. I have forgotten what transpired exactly with twitter, but FB offered my BIL a choice: 1) deactivate acct. 2) alter the acct to a memorial acct. My brother-in-law chose the latter. This way my nephews photos etc are still there and friends can post, yet private messages etc still remained private to only my nephew or anyone he had shared his pw.
It's almost been 2 yrs, things may have changed. IDK

I have posted in the About this site thread for the posters to read the rules on proper posting etiquette and provided the link.

I also added a tag line to my signature. I increased the font but it's driving me insane, one minute its fine, next it reverts back to small. Anyway, its a start to get them to start changing their habits.

If anyone want to add anything in the Misc Computing Etiquette etc, let me know. Like I said in another thread, it's a work in progress. When I see something done wrong I add it. Rather than sit for hours trying to figure out all the potential problems. Thanks!

I have a fun idea--or I think it's fun.

With the season getting very heated towards the last few days we could start this thread--- throw back Thursdays.
I know it's not Thursday today, but maybe it can be started anyway today or wait until next Thursday.
Members can post whatever they choose (as long as it follows rules) as their throwbacks.
This could only bring lots of happy thoughts and posts.

We are getting several requests for keeping Nick's fan thread open. What does everyone think?

I think keep both Nick and Josh fan threads open.
BUT---let them know any transgression about someone trying to rain on the parade--it is locked again.
It's hard enough policing one thread moving fast without policing 3. So they will have to be on best behavior.

Personally, I like both Josh and Nick, but I can not stand the gloating and attitude that's flagrant for Josh to be F1 that is displayed in the other threads. It makes it difficult for anyone not favoring Josh and only Josh to post ANYTHING on a discussion thread. That's not right.

Should Nick be F1 tonight, I dread the board outcome. It will be like last year on the episode Brooks left. The fans will be in The Nile.

I'm trying to think of what's best. If we keep just Nick's thread open, the other's will not be happy. Nick thread posters are saying they won't bother coming online. What if Nick IS F1, then we'll have everyone crossing over everywhere!

To be fair to everyone, I think you're right Kasha. Nick fans can stay put, Josh fans can keeping loving and gloating, and the normal ones can post in the epi thread laugh out loud

I don't think we'll do this again, thoughts? its crazy with the three threads open, and the negative posts (which I don't blame them) but it's in the Nick Fan thread.

I think maybe next time we'll change the fan threads to General Discussion for the F1/F2 rather than Fan thread.

Bet- are you around to unlock and change the title of the other two threads? I'm going to get caught up on threads then sign off. I won't be able to stay up much longer.

It was hard GA.
I bounced between discussion and Nick Fan threads.
I had to delete from Nick fan thread as Josh fans could not stay out and this was in the first hour! I had to warn twice.
But at the same time----
The Nick fans would have nowhere to bond or discuss. They felt like banished step kids had this not been opened.
I don't know what transpired in the Josh Fan thread.

I know, I was bouncing all over, saw your warnings, and felt bad I didn't catch the posts. Then I thought, how can we keep it a Fan thread? Impossible. I do like that they had their own threads though.

The Josh fans were not happy with all the time they wasted on everything else. Some were sympathetic towards Nick.
