'The Bachelorette' newlyweds Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried host 'Bachelor' viewing party in Kirkland
Newlyweds Desiree Hartsock, season nine star of ABC’s hit show “The Bachelorette,” and her husband HomeStreet Bank’s Chris Siegfried, will be on hand tonight at Lucia Italian Kitchen in Kirkland, hosting a viewing party for the final rose ceremony of this seasons "The Bachelor." The two were married in Palos Verdes, California in January, honeymooned in Hawaii.
Desiree Hartsock, season nine star of ABC's hit show "The Bachelorette," and her new husband, HomeStreet Bank's Chris Siegfried, will be on hand Monday night at Lucia Italian Kitchen in Kirkland.
The two will be co-hosting the final viewing for this season of ABC's "The Bachelor," as farmer Chris Soules,"The Bachelor's" newest star, decides between the two remaining women contestants vying for his heart.
Siegfried was one of eight celebrity dancers at Plymouth Housing's Seattle Dances event at Fremont Studio Saturday night, and the two were surrounded by fans. He got wild applause for his Cuban cha cha cha with a professional dancer from Seattle's Century Ballroom.
Sporting their Neil Lane wedding rings, the couple were glowing from their Jan. 18 wedding ceremony at Wayfarer's Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, where Hartsock's father walked her down the aisle.
"It was fabulous," they both told me. "We are so happy."
The wedding, covered both nationally and internationally, after an exclusive in Us Weekly, is detailed in Hartsock's blog where she writes, "The moment I caught my eyes on his, the chapel stood still and nothing else mattered but sharing that day, our commitment, vows and love with one another. In that moment I felt so blessed."
They honeymooned in Hawaii, the first time they had ever been there, and loved it.
Former "The Bachelor" star and Realtor Jason Mesnick and his wife Molly Mesnick, from Kirkland, were among the guests at the wedding, and will join Siegfried and Hartsock tonight at Lucia's, doing commentary to what promises to be a packed restaurant of fans , with a plethora of TV screens all tuned to ABC .
Spoiler alert: I predict Chicago fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff will win the final rose.
First post, but I always read this site. Thx blu for always updating the news of this couple. I love des & chris very much!
Ayina1111, they are my fave too. Yes, Blue does a great job keeping us updated.

Design Files: Desiree Hartsock
A few weeks ago I mentioned I would be blogging for Desiree Hartsock in her "home" section of the blog every few weeks. Today I am over on her blog sharing tips for your next outdoor get-together! And guess what?! Desiree is here chatting with us all about her style! Learn how her passion for designing gowns came about, how she designed her own wedding dresses, and learn how her style translates into their home design. We share a passion for vintage details and both attended The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
Let's get started...
1. When did your love for design begin?
My love for all things design started the second I could pick up a crayon. I would always draw, sketch and create things, but my love for fashion design began in high school when I would make dresses for my friends. My passion for bridal and wedding gown design really grew while attending FIDM.
2. You are a wedding dress designer. How does your creative process start when you design a new dress or collection? Where do you look to for inspiration?
I am always inspired by nature and the intricate beauty of vintage details, but the process of designing for me begins with the touch, look and feel of the fabrics chosen. I get inspired by the texture, drape, or color of the fabrics and from there the designs begin to come to life. As far as creating new collections and styles, I am often influenced by different cultures or shapes, while still keeping my natural and vintage inspiration as the foundation.
3. What has been one of your biggest design challenges?
TIME! I was doing custom bridal gowns prior to creating my collection with Maggie Sottero and it was difficult to manage the time needed, due to increasing obligations during that time. Being too busy also diminishes creativity, so I had to learn how to take time out for it all...the dresses, the obligations, and for myself to stay creative.
4. You designed your own wedding gowns, which were stunning! Was it harder to design and choose a gown for your own wedding?
It was actually quite opposite. I have worked in the bridal industry as a bridal consultant for many years and have seen almost any dress you could think of. For me, I just wanted to stay true to what I liked and create dresses that were different than what I have seen. I loved wearing them! ;)
5. A design don't:
Don't over emphasize all the assets. Leave an element of intrigue that flatters in the right areas.
6. Even though you're a wedding gown designer, we'd love to learn how that aspect of design translates into how you decorate your home. Do you prefer symmetry or asymmetry? Tell us a bit about your style.
I would say that I prefer symmetry. Just as I am inspired by nature for my designs, I am inspired by nature when decorating my home. Chris and I both love neutrals with soft grays, blues, and tans. I'm drawn to creating a soft look that is welcoming and also reminds me of living by the beach.
7. I couldn't live without _____ in my home.
Throw blankets. It's the best to cuddle up on the couch in warm blankets and watch a movie.
8. What is your favorite spot in your house?
My favorite spot is our bedroom! It's so cozy and comfortable. I also like the personal details that make the room even more special, like our wedding photos and a conch we brought back from Antigua where we got engaged.
----
I'm not sure about you, but her wedding gown with the gorgeous beaded back is exactly something I'd choose for myself (one day, one day!!) Desiree, want to design my wedding gown when the time comes?! ;) Their dark blue bedroom walls are a beautiful contrast with the white bedding. I think she's right-- personal details are that perfect finishing touch on a space!
Don't you just adore Desiree's gowns?!
Head on over to Desireehartsock.com to check out my guest post for her today.
Happy Thursday!
xoxo

10 Things To Know About Desiree Hartsock
It’s so refreshing to hear about relationships that actually make it from ABC’s Bachelor and Bachelorette series, especially after the latest breakup of Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff. Geesh, was that a huge disappointment! I thought for sure those two would have been one of the few added to the success stories of the show. Anyway, back to what this chat is really about, Desiree Hartsock.
Remember Desiree? She was the down-to-earth, sweet, girl-next-door Bachelor contestant, turned Bachelorette of season 9. As an avid watcher of this reality show I’ve been watching since day 1, it’s fun to reach out and get to know some of my favorites. And yes, Desiree is definitely on the top of my list.
Since I discovered here blog that chats weddings, love, fashion, jewelry and lots of other inspiring tips and girlie topics, I’ve been wanting to get to know a little more about the Desiree after Bachelorette, so I asked her if she would do a little Q&A with Styled Arrow. Here are 10 things to know about Desiree Hartsock . . .
SA: We saw and loved you on the Bachelorette. How can you say your life has changed since the show?
Desiree: It’s been 2 full years since I was on the Bachelorette and I can say that it completely changed my life for the better in every possible way. I was looking for love and found more than I thought possible in my husband, Chris.
SA: Are you happy that you went on the reality series?
Desiree: I’m very happy that I took the leap of faith to go on to “The Bachelor” to then become “The Bachelorette”.
SA: Congratulations on your marriage! If you could give one piece of advice to the current Bachelorette, Kaitlyn, what would it be?
Desiree: Always be yourself and be open to the process, personalities and possibilities. It can only work if you are transparent and allow yourself to embrace every single moment.
SA: It seems like you love, love. What do you love most about marriage?
Desiree: I do love, love! There is something about marriage that takes a relationship to a far closer place. I just love that Chris is my best friend and I have a built-in partner to create memories with.
SA: I love your blog! What do you hope readers will gain from going on your blog?
Desiree: I truly hope that women can find anything they are looking for on my blog, from wedding day inspiration, motherhood advice, recipes, fitness tips to travel. And, I hope readers can be encouraged in their day to day life, while also identifying to the content posted.
SA: If you could sum up your style in 3 words, what would those words be?
Desiree: Beachy, Classic and Comfortable.
SA: Your dresses and jewelry are beautiful! Where do you find your inspiration?
Desiree: I am always inspired in everything that I do. The serenity I feel at the beach, near water or even in the city. All of these places help me develop my ideas. I also love to bring in vintage elements that still feel fresh and new.
SA: I love inspiration and quotes. Are there any words that inspire you?
Desiree: “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.”
SA: Tell us a little about your beauty routine. Do you have a favorite product you just can’t live without?
Desiree: Chapstick & mascara! It’s so simple, but moisturized lips and long lashes are key for me to feel polished. My beauty routine is pretty simple. I have always stuck with Aveeno face wash and Olay face lotions for as long as I knew what a beauty regimen was
SA: What is the one thing you want your friends, family, peers and followers to know about you?
Desiree: I love them all! I never asked to be on the Bachelorette or even had a desire to be on television, it just happened. My hope is that everyone can see me as their friend, sister or neighbor, and, not just as a “Bachelorette”. I want to be relatable and use my experiences to help others.

On the 2013 season of The Bachelorette, bridal fashion designer and blogger, Desiree Hartsock took to the screens to find love. Now that she’s happily married to Seattle native, Chris Siegfried, she’s ready to do her part in making other couples’ wedding dreams a reality. The Bachelorette recently joined forces with the local event company, Blue Ribbon Cooking to offer a variety of wedding planning packages and services.
One way the ABC alum can contribute to your nuptials is through bridal and bridesmaids styling ($1,600). After a phone conference discussing venue and price details, Desiree will schedule appointments at three local dress shops for you to find “The One.” Offerings also include consultations on capturing your big-day vision ($1,600) and making the most of your theme ($1,200). After you chat over coffee for either of the packages, Desiree will create a vision board for you and your Blue Ribbon Cooking planner to bring to action. Plus, Des will also be available for additional advice by-the-hour on piecing together party details.
For more details on working with Desiree for your upcoming celebration, contact Blue Ribbon Cooking to speak with a wedding specialist.
I love her hustle, and I like that she teams up with businesses so she can gain more experience and knowledge in the field, like she did with Maggie Sottero.

Also, this is just me, but I wish that more alumni would take lessons * on how to reap the benefits from this show while still pursuing real lives away from it.
I like to admit when I was wrong, I was so wrong about Des's turnaround being too fast. Boy am I glad I was wrong and that some of you were strong enough to show those of us doubters how real these two are.

But it is definitely Des&Chris's attitude, with their fans but most importantly with themselves, that makes them the successful story. Putting their union first without compromising individual self, career goals and dreams. Respect (dignity), accountability, time and love ... is ever present. And it can be read in Des' answers, the way she approaches her work. It is admirable. So there's no wonder that the great achievements come her way, because she creates the opportunity and means to carry them out. And that deserves a recognition.

They make me proud to be a fangirl, makes all those hours stalking them and posting here worth it ha!
If we can, let's continue discussion about their season in the general discussion thread we have here, and back to Des and Chris related media we go.
And a reminder, please avoid mentioning other contestants or couples in a comparison kinda way, their fans don't like it and it kinda fuels a fan war.
