But that one article I just read about him caring deeply and almost immediately regretting his decision to leave her makes it clear to me. Also, her overanlyzation comment. It all adds up now and it makes it very apparent that my boy is indeed in love and didn't just make some stupid decision. They may yet not make it, but at least, at the time of the show, I totally believe Brooks fell in love with Des.
Now, it all makes sense. Him leaving, yet his "This is the worst day of my life. There's nothing I can say." And then they get engaged. Makes perfect sense to me now. Almost immediately after he lets her go he regrets it because the overanalyzation, naturally, goes out the door and all he's left with is being able to keenly feel he loves her, which prompts him to come running back and makes it conceivable that he should and does propose to her.
When he loses her, when she's out of his life, like his brother said in that pivotal moment, he almost immediately sees he doesn't want to live without her.
My Brooksy fell in love.
And it might all be darn romantic.
The only thing that still bugs me is, what in the world is Nate Hartsock doing? Is he just trying to deflect the truth?
Canyon can you tell us what article you read that said Brooks regretted his decision?
Nanny, here's the excerpt
Sorry this is the excerpt I saw. Where does it say that "he changed his mind" are you referring to the fact that he regretted his choice "almost immediately?"
"She was looking forward to romantic horseback rides, sailing trips - and candlelit dinners that ended with the couple foregoing their individual rooms. But in the middle of their date, the man Hartsock considered a potential husband told her was walking away from their relationship, crushing any chance of a future together. In a major understatement, the show insider note, "She was very emotional", at point, a sniffling Hartsock whimpers, "I just want to go home."
What caused this shattering change of heart? Reality - an the idea of dropping to one knee with the traditional Neil Lane rock - got too real."
"The man cared deeply for Des. His feeling were incredibly strong which made his decision difficult". In the painful aftermath, say the source, he regretted his choice "almost immediately".
Thanks Barb for bringing that over. It will be a rough 2 weeks but I think this will be the most romantic ending ever. At least we don't have the repeat of being torn between 2 when we always knew better.

I don't think there's any more guessing at this point:
"EXCLUSIVE: 'Bachelorette' Desiree Hartsock: "I Want a Small, Intimate Wedding"
After spending two tumultuous seasons looking for love in the spotlight — previously appearing on Sean Lowe’s season of ABC’s The Bachelor and now starring on The Bachelorette — Desiree Hartsock sits down with In Touch to dish on her future wedding plans.
“I care more about the marriage itself than an extravagant wedding,” Desiree reveals in the new issue of In Touch, on newsstands now, “so I want it to be small and intimate.”
Although the former bridal stylist insists she didn’t grow up fantasizing about a lavish dream wedding — “No, I haven’t been planning mine since I was a little girl” — the 27-year-old does have some plans in the works! Dishing on her self-designed dress and wedding location, Des tells In Touch: “It will be a vintage-inspired sheath gown with lace or beading,” adding, “I love destination weddings!”
Still unsure if her nuptials will be televised, Desiree can’t wait to go public with her love, gushing: “You have no idea [how excited I am]. I’ve been keeping this secret forever!”
Sworn to secrecy on whose proposal she accepts on the Aug. 5 finale, the Northglenn, Colo., native says what she’s most looking forward to about tying the knot is “being with that person for the rest of my life. Knowing that they’re my best friend and we’re able to go through ups and downs and get through it together.”

Well she did want a small wedding until the man she fell deeply in love with had 9 brothers and sisters. So now just maybe it will be televised. I sure hope so for our sake because we deserve to see them get married after the ups and down we went thru watching their love story.

That friendship and love sparked atop the Hollywood sign. Des said, Best Date Ever not one of the best dates ever like she told Zak. Bres built on that friendship and they got to know each other. They set a true foundation . Brooks kept trying to keep that foundation on rock not TPTB sand. In the end, they have a good chance at a solid relationship supported by their families!
