Brooks seemed resolute in his feelings. I think it pained him to face the consequences of his choice; to witness her pain by his own words.

When I read that edit, it seems like they let us hear everything about Brooks' feelings and Des' feelings b/c there was no other relationship to protect, or because Bres could survive it if they had months to process the rejection. But, man, how difficult to hear him basically say that he wasn't in love with her? His sister echoed the words that he and Des shared on the Hollywood sign: that they'd endure heartbreak b/c it meant that they weren't supposed to be together.

I'm not sure that he comes back. There's a door, but wow! Heartwrenching.

I'm with you on this, I'd be surprised if she ended up with anyone. She made it clear Brooks is the only one, felt bad for the way she led Chris and Drew on, I bet they loved watching this episode.

Atem those "happy tears" just might be because the show will finally be over and she can get on with her life.  I don't see Brooks all of a sudden falling in love in a few days and proposing.

Either that or the show has us all exactly where they want us: sympathizing and empathizing for Des. We're watching her heartbroken and in love with only one person. We want her to find her happy ending. By showing her so broken over losing Brooks, it lessens our "outrage" if she takes him back IF he returns since it will make her most happy. That's the reason, most likely, for all of the scenes of her crying and heartbroken, the reason we heard as much as we did tonight. Justification for her final choice.

I honestly don't know how I feel about tonight. I have never cried ever about this show until tonight, I actually had lump in my throat.

I just don't see how this can turn around, I just don't, the only thing that gives me a little hope that Brooks does in fact love her or will love her, is when she said she loved him and he said "why didn't you tell me that earlier" and he was very upset when he did.

If they end up together, I honestly think that TPTB completely manipulated Brooks to think it wasn't him around Cloud 9 date when they knew in fact it was game over. By telling him it wasn't him, who could honestly fall in love after that.

I really hope he loves her if they end up together. Because I honestly do not fault him for his honesty if it is true and truly walks away from her.

Or maybe Chris proposed and had a ring...but I don't see her accepting him and if she did that's so wrong after what happened with Brooks. If she did accept a proposal from Brooks I don't see that relationship lasting. He's just not into her like she is him. Of course that can all be editing, ha!

Me either. I just want to know. I feel so DRAINED! This show never knows how to balance anything. It's always too much! For all that US article claiming they were all pretty much even after the HTD, yeah right.

Nope, they both say it's the F1 ring. She's engaged and happy.

Now, that doesn't mean Brooks is F1. I mean, articles keep saying 'she really fell for him', etc.

Brooks looked like a man feed a little bogus info about Des and was genuinely surprised at her feelings.

The back and forth with Chris H was interesting, most of Chris's "tough" questions were 1 shots and could have been filmed later.

Do I think he comes back and actually gets down on one knee and pops the question, Have no clue. Do I think he does love her? Yes.

I think TPTB worked overtime to make him doubt that Des was falling for him. He mentioned a few weeks back that he was falling and it bothered him seeing her with some of the other guys.

Yeah, maybe, but if I was her I'd sure be second guessing if he REALLY loves her after what he said. He knew she couldn't say she loved him until the end...I just don't see him changing his mind that fast, BUT it IS the Bachelorette!

If Des and Brooks are really together, I'd hate to be in Brooks' shoes after Nate sees tonight's episode.
