The next episode is spelled out by Brooks' brother at the HTD - "The real question to ask is, if Desiree was just out, just gone, gone from my life. And if the feeling is I need to do anything and everything that I can to get her back in my life or could you live without her."

They certainly set up the doubt with his decision to break up with Des tonight. It seems to me that he will do "anything and everything" to get her back.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. He sure seemed to me to be in love with her. There was just too much noise in his head. He lit up when he was talking with his family about what a great girl Des is.

Brooks is a good guy to be honest with her which was painfully difficult , but whether he's confused or not the overwhelming feeling was that he did not want to hurt her .
He said he hoped she was " into one of the other guys more " , that is not someone who is in love with Des.

You can go back and fourth how he's protecting himself and not wanting to get hurt, but he says he knows what love feels like and he just does not feel that for Des .
It was painful to watch tonight both of them suffer.

I applaud Brooks for leaving if his heart wasn't in it.

Hopefully the producers did not coax him into returning just to finish the show, but one week or a few days not long enough to get real clarity on your true feelings ...

I do know that Brooks has that VO of 'I'm as in love as I've ever been' and has that mystery Mesnick scene.

I want to go back and watch again but don't know if I can take it a second time!

Random thoughts:
- CH was at a loss for words when talking to Brooks.. Never thought I'd see that!
- Des basically admitted that she was forced to play the game with all the others but only wanted to go on dates with him.. there is absolutely no way she could even have a default 1 after that statement.
- If Brooks didn't return a lot of their interaction would have been edited out and there would have been a rose ceremony

I'm with atem though.. I need SOMETHING! Thought it was kinda funny RS retweeted all those spoiler slams.

This is my thinking exactly!! Even though he didn't mention it to his mom and sister, to Chris H, or even Des, I think Brooks wasn't able to truly open his heart or get past the wall around his heart knowing she was making out and dating other guys!! I have only been in love once in my life but if I'm falling for a guy it would be a lot easier to fall harder at least knowing they were falling for me too and not just acting that way because we were on a tv show!!
