No settling here. I believe without a doubt they are in love with each other. Brooks does not take  love and marriage lightly, and would never propose unless he was absolutely sure it was the right thing to do. JMO  I can't imagine Des ever accepting a proposal from anybody unless HER whole heart is in it, and I think her whole heart is in it with Brooks. 

It's nice to hope that you are right...but if Brooks is uncertain two weeks before the finale, I'm not sure how convincing it is to believe that he miraculously falls in love so deeply that he has to propose because he is absolutely sure!?!?!  None of us know what really happened or what they were thinking.  THAT is the only reality in this story.

So True. His turn around would be pretty short.

And to the bolded - he is not immune to the bachelor bubble and the brain washing of the producers just like any other contestant.

It's strange how I could see how it could be any of them. Desiree has been faving tweets about going with someone that's 'walking in faith' and that tells me Drew, then she does an interview and describes Brooks then on Ryan Seacrest she goes on and says that Chris has the best body (which would rule out Drew, who obviously has the best body before for her and now doesn't?).

I agree with that statement. That's exactly what I've been trying to explain. He's there (or almost there). He's feeling it. Maybe he just doesn't know it it yet, or isn't going to run with it until he knows for sure. Thinkers can be slow and plodding. But things can jog them into accepting reality.

I know!!! That's where you have to look. Look at the way he looks at her at the end of their preview date in the park when they're reading that list? Look at the look in his eyes and on his face when he says that he'd take her meeting his parents over all those other things. And then the look in her eyes looking at him.

So I'm going on a limb and putting it out there that Brooks is in fact in love with Des. I hope I'll be proven correct at the end of hometowns. I'm not saying he's going to confess. I'm just basing it on the nonverbal communication, body language, eye contact, etc. 

He seems to be telling us his feelings in metaphors like the comment about the breakthrough in the clouds. He could be thinking that moment was when he fell in love or realized he was in love.
