WTH is up with 'emotional process'?
Maybe it's the new "journey"? Seriously tho, has the show used that phrase in the past? Or is this something they've cooked up just for Brooks?
It's quite plausible that he is "behind" in his affection for Des. I could buy that.
OTOH it's also possible that after Munich and Barcelona the producers realized that Bres had essentially already made it to the FRC--and they had a bunch more episodes to shoot. So hey presto--usher in Cold Feet Brooks. But at least his feet are "jogging," which wasn't even one of the choices (I think it was step, skipping, running, and finish line?)
One thing that makes me suspicious that Brooks' feet are actually Toasty Warm is his apparent lack of enthusiasm for a HTD. Maybe it's just the snipping--and "not on the same page" was spliced in from another conversation--but if we do see reluctance in the episode itself I'd call that a fake-out. Brooks has said he saw Desiree's infamous HTD with Sean, so he's familiar with the set-up and had to know HTDs were coming next. Does anyone believe he was thinking about taking himself completely OUT when they were in Madeira? Because that's what not going on the HTD would mean.
Maybe next time Desiree needs to make sure HIS feet are under the blanket too.

True. I was thinking she wants to sprint to the finish line already. She know what and whom she wants. He still sees the other things ahead of him. His family and hers. He sees it more as a marathon where you conserve your energy for the end.

Reminds of their first date, at the Hollywood sign, where she says "I'm ready. I'm SO ready." She's been thru the process; she almost certainly knows her feelings for Brooks are way stronger than those for Sean--or her last, "unexpressive" bf. Reminds me too of Brooks' (added much later?) VO dancing on the bridge: "Desiree is the kind of woman I could easily fall in love with. She knows what she wants and she's sexy."

I think his emotions caught up quick when he realized he could loose her.
I understand he moves slower but he should have known that hometown date was a possibility. If he doesn't introduce many girls to his family it must have been a struggle for him.
I totally think this is what happens . . . and it's so romantic!
you don't realize what you really have until you lose it. maybe this situation is just a fateful event that had to happen to solidify and clarify for Brooks what he feels and wants.
I was going to (insert any productive activity) but then well...........Nick

i wonder if this is a canadian expression because my former pastor and his wife, both canadian, used "processing" a lot and they meant it a bit differently than processing your emotions. it seemed to be more processing what is happening in the relationship. not so singularly but between the two people working or figuring things out. at least that is what i thought they meant. maybe there is a canadian on the staff and so they are using "processing" in both senses.
as for the dinner convo:
she said she is "starting to run" and he said "we're jogging". tomato. tomahto. he may be holding back a little. i'm sure most of the contestants do like des did with sean. once they are the lead they are in the driver's seat so it's easier.
