Before I go off to my fireworks celebration, what I want to know, and I thought I'd ask here, is why are SCs so all-fired important? Do they have to release all they have of a show? Who releases them? Why are they released? Do they release everything they can get or have they been known to hold things back?

Again, why are they released and who uses them/what use are they to the general public?

If they haven't released many SCs of some dates, like the HTD, doesn't it stand to reason they might not have released them for all dates? Do they show everyone's date no matter what?

I just don't get the great, all-fired importance of SCs and why they seem to be deciding the fate of Brooks.

I don't know. They might release more Brooks screen caps in an episode or two and all this screen cap drama/discussion will become a moot point. By the time all is said and done, the screen cap debates will end up being more dramatic than whatever happens on the actual show. :laughingoutlou

Not sure where to put this, but since it's Brooks related .....

I started DVRing the season with Episode 5, and the description for both Episodes 5 and 6 has, under "Cast" just two names:  Chris Harrison and Brooks Forester.  In that order. Yup, no Desiree Hartsock.   

And no other contestants either.  Brooks isn't first alphabetically whether you go by first or last name (Ben/James Case).  So why?  Is somebody at Verizon Fios a Brooks fan?  Surely ABC didn't spoil the ending to their cable carriers.

canyon, the show doesn't release screencaps. they release videos and love me and san turn them into screenscaps. they are  definitely critical and where we figure out many of the details to confirm or deny the spoilers. if you aren't into sleuthing that is totally cool though. :Smiley:

SCs are critical because they dont lie.  Photographic evidence is what proved that RS's F1 spoiler was flat out  wrong and Brad chose Emily (fridgegate).   SCs proved that Canadian Bachelor Brad chose Bianka.  etc.   With due respect to LoveMe and san, we are not going to stop studying the screencaps. Screencaps are the best proof of what happened.

Analyzing scs is sleuthing 101. It's back to basics.
Long before RS gave his his episode by episode spoilers all he was was a blogger. He has only been spoiling for what--since Jason's season. So that is 5 yrs ago. Sleuthing went on long before RS.
FORT and other forums --Jokers, TWOP, 9 of hearts, etc did Bachelor CSI using screencaps along with any spoilers we might get.

No, the show does not release all of the scs. All scs are are freeze frames.  We get the scs from things like the previews, commercials, medianet...you get the drift. It can be a photo someone in the crowd might capture of a date occurring.
Yes, things are held back. Generally think of them as previews. Do you see all of program featured from a preview? No. A screencap is just a freeze frame from this.
Why are they important? I can give you several simple examples. It shows when cast are eliminated. Example: if we see a cap of the main on a fashion date with 8 girls and we know there is a group date to a fashion show with 8 women we can piece out who goes on that date. If that date has 12 women left we now know who 8 of those 12 are.
Let's say we see a date of the main at a famous landmark in Spain. We will know this person on the date made it that far.  
There used to be a rose ceremony game sponsored by ABC. These sc clues led people to make their weekly rose votes. Prizes were given out weekly and one grand prize at the very end. So reading scs became invaluable. If read correctly--they don't lie. But they can be confusing.

I noticed on a couple of my episodes it said Desiree and Brooks as cast members, which I thought bizarre. I haven't paid attention lately.

What I'm trying to get from those saying that Drew is Final 1, is that you guys can't have it both ways.  You can't sit there and say that Drew has a FD and LCD and then say that Desiree is sitting there saying she wants to go home wearing the same outfit with Brooks at the Verandah, but she's the one to let Brooks go.  If she let Brooks go, why make it seem like Drew leaves?  Why not let Brooks go at the Final 3 RC?  Why go all the way to the Verandah pier (and not even inside his villa) if you are saying he needs to go?

Then at the LCD they are having a horseback ride and suddenly Drew doesn't think it can work?  I'm just trying to get where that makes any sense, because it doesn't.

Why did Des go through with the HB ride first before this serious discussion?  

Because she was on a date with Drew and during dates people start talking. Their discussion obviously turned serious.

Looks like she was really giving her all like she told Drew, even though maybe her heart wasn't into it, and perhaps Drew could sense that. I have to give Des credit for at least trying to go through with this LCD. She was obviously very torn. It says a lot about her feelings towards Drew.....but were they strong enough to forget about Brooks? I'm not so sure.

Isn't Drew's evening portion of the LCD at the Verandah where the FRC takes place? If so, then of course she went through with the LCD and the only one that we don't have sc's for is Brooks other than him being distraut and crying in the limo.

Screencaps are just that….pictures made from the previews. I think the other pictures used are ones from ABC Medianet and Getty Images.

All I know is that the edit and caps are showing it's Brooks that leaves or something goes wrong between them and she's saying she wants to go home and Chris H is asking what she wants to do next.

That fits with the 'guys leave and come back' of that stupid InTouch article.

That is exactly what they want us to think, so is that what really happens?? I am not convinced either way yet.
