Yes, she said Chris is husband material, but notice how she didn't say for her. I remember many of Ali's comments about Roberto were how he made her feel, and with Chris it was more generic. Also dead giveaway was what she wore on her FD's with each of the guys, sexy little vixen for Roberto and poor Chris got those baggy white pants

I'm telling you that you have to be careful about the edit; yes, they are telling the story they want to get to the end, but that doesn't mean they won't be deceptive all along the way.
Chantal and Bevin were both the red hot physical connections to the point that if you watched the story between them and their bachelors, they were F1, and that was all there was to it. In fact, Emily physically hardily seemed in the race, and Roberto? There was a lot of talk about how hot he was, but the story was about Frank and Chris while Roberto crept up ever so slowly on the sidelines.

Based on that idea would you say that JP can't be the F1 and that is more likely Ben? I would love to know your opinion (so far that is) or is it too early to say?

RS says that JP is F1, and for all the world it looks right now like JP is F1, but at this time last season RS said that Chantal was F1, and the hard evidence indicated she was F1. ( To me, it looked like she was in Roberto's position in the RC pics, etc.) I thought in Brad's mind that at that time she was still F1. I think Emily indeed did take over F1 in Ep. 5 in Anquilla when Brad blogged that "Love is in the air," and it certainly wasn't for anyone else in that episode.

Now, if Love_Me's source in Fiji comes back and says that Ben is F1, I won't be surprised. Why? Simply because it feels like F1 JP has been too easy.
Yes, we have had 3 episodes of the worst villain in Bachelor history which is going to be horribly hard for her to overcome....BUT the drama people are usually always for 3 episodes, and then we begin to get down to brass tacks. However, that isn't to say that we haven't typically met at least briefly in small segments our F1, F2, F3, F4 while the drama folks are doing their things and playing out.
We haven't done that. WHY?

Is JP F1 or is JP F2? If JP is F2, then meeting JP and starting the focus on him is at least more in keeping with what they have always done - in old days, they used to "hide" the F1 - not this badly, but they did try to hide him or her.

If JP is F1, then we have JP conquers Bentley, but we are left shaking our heads at why we even needed an F2, F3, and an F4.
We have never had a format where we didn't meet F2, F3, and F4 until the 4th episode, and F1 was thrust so front and center in our faces as JP to the point that even the unspoiled board at the FORT on Monday night were suspecting JP for F1.

Bloomers, so true. I posted in the JP thread something similar. And I said if it turns out JP is F1 and we are not being fooled, it has to be that MF knows how much he alienated the general viewing audience with the roast and the Bentley debacle and is wooing them back with the JP and Ashley love story and to counteract the first 3 miserable episodes. That's the only reason I can think of as to why JP is being thrown out there to everyone as the F1, even without RS spoilers ~ if he actually is the F1.

I keep waffling with whether JP's getting the F2 edit or not. The thing I can't get past is if his whole story line is about learning to be patient, how does that flow to him being the jilted F2 and going on to be the next Bach?

Well unless there is a substantial conversation left into the next episode (# 4) with Ashley and another dude - its clear that its JP all the way. And this conversation has to be with the other main contender.
So in other words unless we can see that there is some sort of "forever" connection (drink) with someone other than JP who in that case could be labled as the "physical" connection we essentially have no contest.

Though what sort of suspense or drama will they be able to drum up for the FRC is JP is so obviously obvious from episode 2 onwards ?

We could compare this season to Ali's. It was pretty obvious from the very beginning it was going to be Roberto or no one. Thus, they started throwing in a bunch of drama -- Justin Rego, for one.

Here, it's pretty "obvious" (at least so far) that it's JP. Thus, they bring back Bentley and Ryan to add drama and confuse viewers.

Right. How is F1, if not JP, going to overcome both of these guys now? Of course TPTB do whatever the he!! They want so anything is possible.

I do like the point that JBF made that only JP has cottoned onto the Bentley situation so far. I wonder what role it's going to play in their on-screen relationship because it's obviously going to play a role in the edit of the show.

Thanks for promoting me here, Alanna! (LOL! Your check’s in the mail.) On to a slighty different subject here, though.

Rechecked a bunch of Ashley’s personal interviews, trying to match blouses and backdrops. Just going by her comments, it is pretty clear that her Top Three for episodes #1 through #3 at least were William, Bentley and JP. Maybe somebody like Ben will take over the top spot later, but certainly not at this stage.

Unfortunately, poor Ben F. has yet to receive a PI from her, unless I’ve missed it. Her happy comment during his dinner date in the premiere season preview sounds suspiciously like a dub of the exact same words in William’s Las Vegas date. I’ll let others analyze that one more carefully. Now, the one CRITICAL 1 on 1 we should have seen was in Las Vegas, no matter how brief it might have been. He was clearly not getting her full attention at the comedy roast, since her mind was occupied on front-runner William and how upset he made her.

Adding more salt to Ben’s wounds: he has made a cluster of PIs all about Ashley… reminding me so much of Reid and Chris L. Oh, he is going to fall fast and hard for her alright… the question: will she? Maybe… as a few of you are speculating, he really is the edited-out “darkhorse” final one, but I’m starting to get this disturbing taste in my mouth that the final rose ceremony will be quite the “OMG” Mike Fleiss tweeted about. Wonder if he does the Jason?

Ryan received two glowing PIs from her in episode #1, but has mysteriously receded in the background a bit. Although she gave him a group rose in #3, she hasn’t been discussing him much… What’s worse is that EVERYBODY at that roast date was being fogged by her being upset at William, one of her Top Three. There was nothing Ryan could do to make her feel better. Also, like Ben, he is admiring Ashley quite a bit in his PIs. This won’t be pretty... Ryan had better stock on the saline.

The basic pattern, when you match up her PIs is that she had very high hopes for William and when he crashed, her interest in Bentley increased dramatically. Aiding this was her false closure after addressing the text messages. He told her: “I’m totally on the same page with you. I’m following you every step of the way. I promise.”

One curious thing about Bentley: many of his very worst comments appear to have been shot close in time (same shirt and background), perhaps after losing the group rose to Ryan? Maybe Chris Harrison was right about him being furious that day? Not that it really matters if he wasn’t fully committed to her to begin with, but when he voiceovers about emotional pain in the van riding to her house, he is visibly upset and angry.

She comments falling-for-him-on-half-a-date then states “I can’t believe I just said that”. Other comments include “I don’t know if any other guy could be as great as William”

Lavender outfit, pre-roast date
Several comments about Bentley and addressing Michelle’s text messages. Doubtful he is numero uno quite yet, but he certainly is teetering in her top three, once she gets this matter settled.

Navy blue outfit, before meeting guys for the roast date
“Finally” spliced (poorly) in with “I’ve been waiting for Jeff to take off his mask” (No, it was still on when she said that line.)
States that Bentley makes her feel warm and protected. Her heart races when she’s with him.
She’s looking forward to the roast, especially William since they spent a date together and he knows her well. Also this date was made with him in mind.

Navy blue outfit, at roast
“I know I have small boobs”, etc.

Pink blouse day after the roast, just before Bentley departure (same outfit as Bentley scenes but obviously before):
“Can’t stop thinking about William. All I wanted him to do is comfort me but instead he wants to leave.” (In-joke by the cameraman: the clip of William on the bench is next to a “free phone” door ad… he being a cellular salesman.)
“I don’t think I can make anybody happy here.”

White blouse (change after pink) post-Bentley, pre-JP’s date
(The first PI in the white blouse is shown during her time with Ryan asking if there’s anything he can do for her. She is not crying in these lines.)
“Today is not a good day. I’m feeling really vulnerable right now and am feeling kind of sad and I really feel I need to be comforted but nobody seems to be able to comfort me right now” (Special note: this line is said AFTER her comfort-time with Benchley at the roast.)
(now crying)
“I think after Bentley left today, I got really scared that this might not work for me. He was the person at this point so early on that I saw in the ending... and now he’s not here and was scared that it’s not gonna work. I came here never thinking I would feel the pain that I felt the last time I left. Here I am. I chose to believe Bentley. I still believe Bentley. But looking back, it’s like: Were my instincts wrong? I’m the type of person that, when I fall for someone, I fall hard. I’m scared that there’s not enough time to heal from that and then fall in love again. One of the hardest parts is that tonight is the date with JP. It’s not fair to him that this is going to be his date just because I can’t see myself having a really good date tonight and that sucks because JP is a really good guy and he deserves to see the best on me and he’s not going to.”

JBF, awesome job on the VO's, I know it's a lot of work. I researched those too, and it seemed like many of Ashleys VO's were actually in reference to the roast, and being hurt by William, but many were carried over to the Bentley drama. Yes, I do think she was upset about Bentley leaving, but I think the majority of her hurt was the insecurities of the guys being there for her.
