In the end, it comes down to why the lead is really there - if Ashley is just there to collect a huge pay cheque she'll pick the easy out, if she's there for love (yeah right) then she'll pick the guy that she thinks can love her back.

I think that Ali was also planning on bringing Frank to F2 partly because she wanted/needed her family's input and assurance/reinforcement that Frank's "type" was to be avoided, and that she could trust that Roberto truly was the "real deal". It became unnecessary when Frank's own actions assured her of the first part at least.

Regarding Ashley, I really don't see her as all that different from Ali; both women see/saw themselves as career oriented, and not "dying" to get married per se, but for Ali, when the prize named Roberto came along, she was smart enough/ready to commit to him. I think Ashley, if there is really a guy in her group who is her total "package", will do the same. Despite whatever party line she is required to give right now to play into the whole continuing Bach'ette recycled saga of heartbreak redeemed, I doubt she ever really was convinced that Brad was her "once in a lifetime", just as Ali was never convinced that Jake was, despite her hotel lobby breakdown.

I think Ali had an advantage going into her season as the lead of The Bachelorette because Vienna (F1) was not the fan favorite during Jake's season.

The difference with Ashley is Emily (F1) and Chantal (F2) were both fan favorites during Brad's season.

I can't help but wonder, if Ali 'accidently' fell totally in love with Roberto and she surprised herself and didn't expect it. She was lucky that he loved her back too.

I ran across an old interview Ali did after her season. She was asked what her favorite location was during her season. She said Portugal because it reminded her of San Francisco and it was the place she knew Roberto was the one. I thought that was interesting.

I don't know - I think she knew it was going to be Roberto, but she was so afraid he wouldn't love her back = as we heard he say ad nauseum.

I can't remember the timeline - when was Portugal - after Iceland I assume??

Portugal was after Iceland and that is where Ali said she fell in love with Roberto. It also where Justin's girlfriend came up and where he was elimated from the show.

I do remember Iceland, the whole Rego thing - and we saw very very little of Roberto/Ali interaction - that was the episode I knew it had to be Roberto - when they greeted each other at the cocktail party they did so in such an intimate way. The cocktail party was focused on Kasey's tat, so that was the only interaction we saw of them. Nothing of them in ths hotsprings, just her and Ty and Frank being jealous.

I thought the hot springs was Ali and Chris L. (not Ty) and Frank was jealous of them, when Ali kept playing with Chris hair, and they were separated from the other guys in the Hot Springs and hugging each other and intimately talking.

I only meant that I remember her time with Ty – not that Frank was jealous of Ty and Ali. Sorry for the confusion.

When they got into the hot springs it was edited that Ali asked Ty to go explore with her first, who knows when that really happened.

(Chris said in a PI during this time that Ty was bringing his A game..yada yada.. and that he hopes that when Ali spends time with him that it's better than the time she spends with Ty)

Ali and Chris then had a cute part during that night portion of the date kissing and giggling. She said she doesn't know if it's romantic yet with Chris.

Which at this point it cuts to...

Frank being jealous, but it's edited and you can't tell who is with Ali at that point of the night because not everyone is shown around Frank and it spliced back and fourth from Frank flipping out to a point where Chris and Ali are together in the water.

(We can only see Craig and the phantom with Frank when he's throwing a fit so she coule have been with anyone else that was on the date, including Roberto at the time he is commenting on this)

Ty got the GD rose in the hot springs, Ali said before giving him the rose that she appreciated him looking out for/taking care of her and helping everyone that day (Craig R was falling off the mini horse)

Frank was jealous in every episode though rotfl
