I re-watched the Epi 3 RC for Ashley's comments and found some interesting camera pans:

William: "it's been a crazy couple of days (camera to Will) starting with the roast..one of my insecurities was touched upon...to be really honest I did get hurt"

Constantine: ..."find the energy (camera to him) give you guys the conversations that you deserve"

Mickey: "I'm trying to find the good in this" camera pans to Ben F

BenF: "and the only thing I see that's good right now are all of you" camera pans to Ben C

Ben C: "so thank you so much for being here"..camera pans to JP

JP: "and for being honest with me".

Thanks mnm! Trying to take some advice from our pros here and look for what TPTB may be trying to say...don't know if it's accurate, but I am finding it interesting to try to figure it out.

I used to analyze and over-analyze those... to no avail. Actually, it is part of The Story... and while you are at it, go ahead and keep a record of these episode after episode. There may be certain patterns that will prove helpful. In addition, they usually forshadow something that happens in the NEXT episode if not the finale. For example, in episode #2, she uses the H word (husband) over William, Ryan and Bentley... and William almost married her on his date and Bentley was pretty high up in her eyes then. Her "amazing dates" comments were made over JP and William... one would have an amazing night, while the other would have a date amazingly dramatic.

Thanks JBF. Another camera "pause" I was not completely sure of was one on Ben F where she said something like "and then I woke up the next morning to a surprise"..I am taking it mean the bad surprise of Bentley, but hoping it might mean Ben F is the pleasant surprise she wakes up to realize.

This insecurity theme was played out by Jillian, and we saw how that worked out.
Also, in retrospect we saw how accepting a second choice worked out for DeAnna as well. :Frown:
We got a weird, wonky edit with Brad, and this relationship at the ATFRC looked rather wobbly....
Now, here we are going into the 4th episode, and we have basically "seen" one of our spoiled F4. Ashley's theme in spades is "insecurity." I have to wonder if either the relationship has a poor foundation, or the entire season is about her F1 - to the exclusion of the others in the F4.
If so, that will be the first time that has happened in the history of the franchise. Usually, the F1 is the one that is more hidden.

Because they are keeping Bentley in the drama I think they're going to have to showcase her F1 more than they have ever done in the past.

They got their audience already through Bentley, the Asiatic Tour and the rise and fall of Ryan... like Icarus flying too close to the sun.

If they are striving for the "find Waldo" effect with Final One and emphasizing how fast she "falls" for these guys (like William and Bentley), then Ben has a pretty good chance of being The One.

However, the critical Big Clues that once again have me be back on the JP Bandwagon are the following:

1.) JP knows all about Bentley:
quote: “I know she had an emotional night last night on the group date. I know Bentley going home today couldn’t be easy for her so I don’t know how emotional she’s gonna be. I do want to know she is OK and once we touch on it, we’re gonna go on with the rest of the night.” / “[There’s] been a lot of emotion, a lot of drama, but tonight is about me and Ashley and I’ve got to find a way to help her put all that aside and focus on the two of us.” (He also brings up Bentley to her face.)
2.) Ashley told Jimmy Kimmell that she watched episode #3 by herself... which, to me, suggested that her Final One (if she has one) is keeping all of this in the past and moving on. Likewise, Ashley keeps reminding people it is all in the past and her wording regarding how much she liked Bentley was a bit off.
3.) If JP's kisses are superior to Bentley's, then Ben has an awful lot to work up to. Remember, Ashley has not used the H word like Ali frequently did with Chris L. and never with Roberto... but made a big deal about "dame un beso" time.

If any of these other lines matter...

Like I said, just keep track of the lines... but look at them cautiously.

Some of us have been burnt in the past.

Also the face pans when Chris Harrison preps them for the ceremony are equally interesting. Of course, William received a ton of face shots in episode #3 after all of the drama and the other guys blaming so much on him.

On a different note:

Regardless of Ben F.'s status on this show (as suggested final two or "darkhorse" final one), the only potential "problem" hinted at so far is that he may be a little too involved with the other guys... unlike JP, who is flying solo. (Although William likes following JP around like a collie herding the prize ram.) So many shots of Ben are in group situations. If you go back to the alphabet board, a major point is made in his bio about his trip to Germany with nine buddies, while JP appears the Lone Wolf traveling Australia as if he's on some "walkabout". Whether any of this means anything in the end is up for folks here to debate.

It could just mean it takes Ashley longer to pick him from the crowd, but once she has him alone, the "great unraveling" begins.

... and this could go either direction: Ben is the husband she always wanted but is just discovering... or, like Ali with Chris L., Ashley just helps Ben get out of his "guarded" personality (with her own expertise from Brad's season of not opening up enough) and he will be all set and ready to go with 25 Bachelorettes... if Icarus gets burnt too much from all of his solar energy. (From the way Chris Harrison described Ben, it appears as if he already signed the papers for October filming.)
