Fair warning, my favorite is almost never the right one. LOL And my favorite is JP. *sigh* How's that for scientific?
But we haven't really seen enough of Ben to compare notes yet.

Plus she said she wanted to run away with him to Salt Lake City or something to that effect. In other words she was done with the other guys at that point. She told Bentley that she wished the end was "tomorrow". Thats pretty huge IMO. So basically they were all sitting there and wasting their time which is in my book worse than what we have accused other leads of stringing along the F2 when in actual fact they were already in love with the F1. She was planning to string along at least 12 other guys at this point !

The "run away with Salt Lake City" was edited & spliced together -she didn't actually say those words. And I'm pretty sure that a good portion of what we saw last night was also spliced/edited together. Haven't sat through and listened for the cuts yet, but I will.

Personally, I still don't think Ashley was nearly as enamored of Bentley as they are making it sound like. It was very creative editing, including the conversation she had with CH. There was visual and audio differences throughout that whole thing. Did she care about Bentley or like him? Sure. Attracted to him? Sure. Did she love him at that point? Without listening to the audio closely, I'm still 80% certain that comment was about a different guy.

I rewatched Ep 3, the group date, the Bentley fiasco and JP's date for PI's/Vo's, pretty interesting, and certainly not like it seems.. I want to type them all out, but it's going to take some time. A couple things though. Ashley's VO on the group date "All I wanted him to do was comfort me" was actually said in the white shirt she wore on JP's date. Many VO's were done in the pink shirt she wore when Bentley came over, and were added to the group date. A lot of the VO's when she's referring to Bentley we don't actually see her saying, and it sounded like some things were repeated. When she's standing at the door and Bentley is leaving, it sounds as if she's sobbing, she's not even crying at that moment.

One concern though. Ashley gives a PI and she is wearing a lavander shirt/pearl stud earrings, and the background doesn't look like the mansion, but we see her say "my 1-1 with Bentley was so great last night", then we don't see her say "him coming to console me was all I needed to feel better". So when was the PI done about her 1-1 time with Bentley? Does she go on a date with him in Ep6? And I'm assuming the last part of that PI's she is actually finishing her comment about her date with JP.

ITA! I rewatched, and rewatched and yes she was upset, but if you really listen, I think a lot of it was just the double wammy she just took. I so agree about it being spliced/diced, and edited, very interesting if you take the time to listen.

I think if the press for this episode would not have been a full court press of horror, the show wouldnt have seemed nealy as potent.

All the pre hype (like RS naming the F1) raised expectations and preset the the audience opinion at high outrage.

Wasn't Ali falling head over heels over Frank... on the very day he dumped her? How can we forget the way she threw her hair-flower to the ground in rage!

Guess Ashley needed a quickie replacement for William, whom she "fell for" before Bentley. Maybe the excitement of almost getting married in Vegas got her motor running... she wanted to check out Salt Lake City for the next thrill. The whole "point" of the story is that she has to keep falling "fast" for so many dumpees and escape artists... but fall "slow" for JP. (I'll just assume right now that Ben's footage was too "hot" to air... or is being saved for After The Final Rose.)

By the way, any of you video gurus who are able to re-edit all of Ashley's PIs according to her blouse and background set-up will be able to produce a completely different (and accurate) storyline here. Wonder if the editors think we have the stamina to try something like that? Like little CSI investigators examining a crime... in editing.

One thing is for certain... they do like the Bachelorettes who keep "falling for" their guys. When she says she likes kissing them, that is OK for final one status but the L word is a O-U-T until close to finale time... Jillian and Ali didn't "love" Ed and Roberto right away... and when Eddie said it to Jillie, he sounded like a robot. They always "love" OTHERS.

I think that the editing revolved around Bently and his early departure. Something that CH said that Bently was upset that Ashley did not give him the rose on the roast group date and he felt slighted and that may have contributed to his departure. I think they may have wanted to keep him around because he was the frontrunner and his edit last night was pay back. JMO

Believe it or not, I honestly think he is :Nod: The story is Ashley had fears and insecurities of being the Bachelorette, are the guys disappointed it her and not Emily, that happened with Bentley. He has left, but now her fear is does she have time to heal to be able to love again, that's Ashley's conflict. She has her date with JP, who is well aware of how Bentley hurt her. They have a conversation about, taking a leap of faith, falling in love, getting hurt and having to move on, "then you meet a great girl". There are VO's of JP saying, "any doubts I had are gone", "Fiji would be the perfect ending to my lovestory" "My only fear is getting hurt again". JP's conflict will be, will Ashley fall in love with him despite having Bentley and Ryan return to woo her away, or will he get hurt again.
