Sorry, but I just have a hard time comparing Ashley/Bentley with all these previous situations other 'Ettes have had with guys who they actually spent a lot of time with by having actual dates with, and who they knew more than a week or so. I think Ashley's "love" for Bentley is mostly in her imagination. She truly hardly knows the guy (or perhaps I should say, she knows him way less than even the little bit the leads know any of the guys by the end). By the same token, she hasn't spent enough time with any of the rest of the guys to be sure that she might not end up feeling even more for them than she thinks she feels for Bentley right now. Has she spent any time at all with some of them?
"Love" that develops in a week due to bizarre circumstances, can also probably dissipate in a week due to, oh, lack of substance, maybe?

Okay since I was pretty out of it last night (flu-like symptoms) I really didn't watch the show with a lot of concentration. So I just rewatched it.

He reminds me a lot of how Chris L was with Ali when she was sick.He comforted her,tried to take her mind of Bentley. Even those 5 minutes was better than the rest of the show.
Ashley clearly plans for JP to stay around for awhile since she was already talking about their next date.

I didn't see any chemoistry between them and if I didn't already know that he got a rose I'd be really shocked that he did get one.
He seemed so nervous and that was the reason for him speaking really fast.
He seemed to have really high expectations,oes I honestly thought were unrealistic. He wants to live in a fairyale marriage and those aren't real.

We finally got a few VO's from him but we didn't get any 1 on 1 time with him and Ashley. Obviously she sees something she likes.

Absolutely nothing. The camera panned to him a few times when the guys were sitting together and we got a couple of VO's I think.


As for Bentley I truly feel awful for Ashley. She wants a man who will say nice things about her because of her very low self esteem and Bentley gave her that and she lapped it all up.The whole ... reference was a clue that Bentley does return.Bentley used his daughter as a means to get out of the competition even though he was telling Ashley that he wanted to be real with her.Bentley fed Ashley every line in the book that guys say to girls when they are really into them.During Ashley's therapy with CH she actually said "I think I love that guy" in reference to Bentley and honestly I wonder if she was confusing lust for love?

Well said. At the time of his leaving, I do think he was her F1 but that could have changed the very next day when she had a normal, happy date with JP if Bentley hadn't screwed her up. She liked Bentley, was intrigued by him, but in "love" like Jillian and Deanna who literally could not go on after their men left? That obviously wasn't the case here as Ash did go on and got over him. It was 10 days of knowing him and spending virtually no time with him, give me a break.

And lest we forget, in the cases of Deanna/Graham and Jill/Ed, both those guys not only had 1 on 1's but got to spend a few days each in the mansion with the "Ette; by comparison, Bentley's interactions amount to a couple of chats and a make-out session. Honestly, if Ashley really can't move on after this, she is just not ready to fall in love with anyone, because she clearly has the emotional maturity of a middle schooler.

If TPTB knew he was leaving, why give him a date? He was far worse than any other player we've ever had; he wasn't even willing to get to know Ashley at all. Giving him a 1:1 would have just helped to destroy her even more when he left.

I do want to say that since last night when I was ready to send Ashley to a nunnery for her behavior, I have realized that not every couple's path is the same. There is a big tendency to compare every season to that of the two fairytales that have set the standard for this franchise, but Jolly is also a happy, successful couple and their beginning was anything but happy or positive. If Molly can get over Jason going through the whole show and then proposing to someone else, I would hope Ash's SO can cut her some slack on saying she wishes the show was over and she could be with Bentley.

And he left before she had a 1-on-1 with JP or Ben, so if either one of those guys is with her right now that is probably some comfort. I hope she says the right things to Bentley in Hong Kong (about her feelings for other guys) to redeem her crazy for Bentley act in episode 3.

True about Molly..she also had to watch the happy twirl after the proposal and them jump in the pool out of happiness.
How she ever got that picture out of her brain, amazes me. But she was in love with Jason and she overcame it all.
