I absolutely agree that there is a big difference between JP's action and DB Bentley's actions. I'm just not willing to bash Ashley over a very low, weak or vulnerable moment when she was already questioning her desirability to the majority of the guys there, and got manipulated by Bentley.
I think she lost her equilibrium big time but I think she is going to get it all figured out by the end. It appears she likes a guy that will take the initiative, if she's interested in the guy. I just can't find it in myself to condemn her out of hand at that very low point brought on by TPTB's and Bentley's machinations. JMO
I feel badly for Ashley. No matter how you cut it, and this takes editing into account, Bentley on this show is a con artist and Ashley is naive.
Am I going to flay her? No, but I would love to get hold of Bentley and ask him if he would like for some young man to treat his daughter in the same humiliating fashion in front of millions of people. I am a strong proponent of treating other people exactly the way that you want to be treated.
:missclap: ITA!! I love your last paragraph!! Very true!! His daughter may end up seeing this someday too!

:missclap: Yes, this 1000% I don't know how he could have gone along with such nasty, manipulative behavior and said those demeaning, heartless things. You'd think having a daughter would help him gain some compassion on his treatment of Ashley, but evidently not.

:giggle: heh, thanks Jeepers I think we are all holding out hope for a happy ending despite the early yucky drama - this time TPTB really owe us a happy, twirly ending for making Ashley (and all of us vicariously) suffer the indignities of the first three episodes. And they better give us more than 2 minutes of her 1-1 with JP on Monday too.

I wonder how much of the Bentley drama we'll have to sit through on Monday...
I really wanna see Ashley's 1 on 1 with JP and I hope we get more than 2 minutes of it.

Me, too. They OWE us more than two minutes. But, I won't be shocked if they try to minimize it and hide the best parts of it from us.

Agreed. They'l try to downplay the connection and only give us a little bit of the date.

For sure. I'd also like to see the other contestants a bit more. Who needs to see more of creepy Bentley ?

Personally, I wish we could just skip Bentley leaving, hear that he's off the show and go on with the other, much more appealing guys on this show. ;)

Good idea! I'd go for that too.

Bloomers, You're kinder than me. I would love to get hold of Bentley and kick him in his babymaker til he doubles over. (no, I don't condone violence, but he needs a swift kick to the nuts to bring him down a peg). :Nod:Bloomers wrote:etherealfire wrote:Bentley overwhelmed her when she was vulnerable. No, you see, if I could get through to that emotional level where he feels for his daughter and tap in to that, asking him to relate to his daughter's public humilation in the same manner would have a visceral effect on Bentley - I am talking about a gut-wrenching, double over reaction. There would virtually be no need for violence - none whatsoever. I bet you a dollar to a doughnut that he adores that little girl, and he simply can not fathom any man ever mistreating her.
When you encourage someone in the present, you help that person to become successful in the future.
