If we go on past seasons, the F1 gets his 1 on1 time in episode 3 (ED,Vienna,Emily and Roberto) so does that mean that JP is our man ?

I'm probably blind but cannot see the F1 placement vs previous seasons F1 placement. Can someone pl. explain ........perhaps in the SC discussions thread if necessary ?

I think we may be getting a mix of Ali/Roberto/Chris L and Brad/Emily/Chantal with the edits this season. (if RS is correct)

Emily, Chris and Ben have the sad back story - Emily is F1 and the fellas are both F2.

Roberto, Chantal and J.P. are getting the chemistry edit - Roberto and J.P. are F1 and Chantal is F2.

Ben F. and Chantal are narrators for the season - both are F2.

Perhaps the ever-lovely and talented ABC edit monkeys have finally bought a clue and will give us a good story for the F1.

He had a lot of V/O's during the group date.West had more but we know West doesn't make it far.
He seems to have the F1 edit so far.
He recieved the 11th rose in the 2nd rose ceremony (That was the order shown anyway. Maybe the actual order was different.)

William
He seems to have a Molly edit and as we all know Molly was the filmed F2.
He had a rose but he still kept interrupting the other guys to get his time with Ashley.

Ames
The guy had virtually no screen time.
Hidden edit possibly?
He was shown to recieve the 6th rose.


Constantine
No 1 on 1 time with her.
Barely any screen time.
He is shown to recieve the 2nd rose.


JP
He's got the chemistry edit which is usually for F2.
When Ashley kissed him,her lips were parted.
He was shown to recieve the 9th rose.

Hi, everybody! I have been on vacation and have just gotten back home. I did get to watch the show last night, but no one else in the condo wanted to see it but me, so I had to watch it in my room on a very small tv - without any notes or anything.
I did take a moment before coming on this thread to look at the
Screencaps Only thread at the RC line-up and at the toast and then back at the hard copies that I have of the past few seasons, taking into account date and group roses and placements.

The find is no surprise to me. It is what I suspected last week and put out as my guess at least at this point in the process.
When you look through all the smoke, JP has a target over his heart.

If I knew how , I would scan Ep. 2 RC of both Jake's and Ali's seasons and show you that F1 Vienna and F1 Roberto are standing in the back row in almost identically the same spot as JP.
In fact, if you count off 3 from the back row left end, Vienna and JP are in the same spot. Roberto is the 4th from the end spot on the back row.

Why is the backrow or the mid to left side of the picture important?
The F1 usually does not come into play greatly in the 2nd episode. We will see a small cameo appearance, and an interaction such as the pre-rose 1-1 talk (and surprisingly a strategic kiss) that Ashley had with JP where she re-assurred him that everything was alright.
If, indeed JP is F1, then the purpose of such little interludes is to tell the story and to contribute to the rising action, and we will see some type of interaction – regardless of how small – whether he has a date that episode or not.

All of that is said because the right side of the RC picture is where Ep.2 rosees stand - the 1-1 dates as well as the receipient of the group rose. When I look back over the last few seasons, I have also noticed that they like to throw in the F2 for good measure as well - not always, but often.

We traveled all day, and I am tired, I can't wait to hear y'all dog ole Bentley. Man, oh man, I hate to give Fleiss extra credit, but was he ever right about Bentley.

Tomorrow, I will read it!

I have a small Rose Ceremony lineup from Ali's season episode 2~

Hey, everybody! I wish I knew how to combine everybody's posts, so that I was addressing all of them, but I don't know how to do that, but here is Ali's Episode 2 RC pic. Notice where F1 Roberto is standing. Now look where JP is standing in the Ep. 2 RC pic the other night - he is standing in the exact same spot, right down to in front of the curtain!
Now if we were looking at Brad's Ep.2 RC pic, we would see that F1 Vienna is also standing in the backrow on the left. There are fewer of them. She is essentially in the same spot, 3rd from the end on the left.

What does this signify? At this point in the process - 2nd episode - JP is the intended F1.
RS says that JP is the F1; however, last season Chantal at this point was considered F1, and I do believe that up until Anquilla Chantal was the intended F1 just as the hard evidence ( as this is) showed. I believe that Anqilla is where the tide turned, and that is when Emily became F1.

Love_Me's source says that Ben is F1. We will need to watch the edit and see if we have another change as happened with Chantal and Emily.

When she told him she loved him in Costa Rica he looked like he was made of stone - when Emily finally told him she loved him, he couldn't get it out of his mouth fast enough that he loved her right back.

Vienna got the last rose almost always! Roberto, Ed, and Melissa were in the center of the first RC pic. Chantal followed Roberto around in the RC pics most of the time through the 4th RC pic.
She was too emotional as it went along, but yes, I think she started out as the intended F1, and that may have been because it was understood in an implied but never openly stated way that there would be an F1 this go round regardless of a love match.

Guess it's not an exact science but thats just me. (sorry I don't mean to be contrary but I wanted to explain my confusion). Obviously the # of guys Ali had are different from what Ashley has. Carry on......................

I see that the RS blog has everybody swinging back and forth on the outcome. While I’m pinning that he is correct with a JP finale, I’m fully prepared to be proven wrong, so I’m looking for as many pro-Ben F. clues as possible…

One thing that could suggest Ben F. being F1 is that too much may be edited out... if there's stuff to be edited. A bunch of guys in the last rose ceremony were teary eyed... including both Ben F. and JP, so obviously JP was not the only one “on Cloud 9”. Now, does this mean that Ben had alone time with her as well? This could echo Roberto's time with Ali in Iceland's Blue Lagoon, which was shown in a recap at finale time but not in episode #5…. Edits! Edits! Edits!

Then again, Ben did raise his hand when asked if he didn’t get time with her… post Las Vegas.

One thing that leaped out at me as somehow important to The Story was William’s role in the JP versus Ben dynamic (both of whom had to wait mighty late to get their roses in the ceremony while Will was gleefully on the sidelines). He had, of course, received the “shotgun wedding test” to check his own “assertiveness” (a popular word this season… drink!). He went into his aggressive George Bush impersonation and got on West’s nerves; West is the one we’ve only seen SITTING all episode (like his compass)… even while Ben himself was supervising some dances. (Yes, Ben does take the initiative on SOME things.) What made this situation even more interesting is that William went into his speech after JP yanked Ashley aside with the “we’ve got to talk”... and you saw how she cooed about being grabbed like that. Then… to make the point even more clear… William repeated a similar stunt, much to everybody’s disgust! He even initiated a kiss just like JP (but without a coin) and she kissed him back like she did JP! (OK… maybe she pulled away at first before going back into it. At least she didn’t wipe her mouth like she did with Benchley.)

I have the feeling Ben C… the other Ben… will be tested in the next episode. In this past episode, he says he is going to be “assertive” (drink!). Like William, he will be kissing her in front of a crowd. Unfortunately, Jeff has yet to pass his test of removing his mask. Ames is another sitter I’ve picked up on… but he may prove different later. Did notice how his face comes up during Will’s Bush imitation… as if Will was talking to him, the big seen the world marathon man. On the plus side, Ames did ask stubborn Jeff if he would ever take off his mask.

So far, JP, William (despite having a “stopped” watch) and Ryan P. are coming across as the “characters making the moves” in our little mini-drama, although Ryan’s “story” is already developing in a different direction in that he’s no longer trying to be “first” and is blending in with the other sit-downers. One area he is taking action in is acidic commentary… first Tim having “fruitful conversations”, then ragging on Masked Jeff.

Unfortunately, we already are seeing Ben F following Ryan’s lead here, since he participates in some of the ridicule. Now, JP commented on “the situation”, if not specifically “the person”, when he voice-overed living with “a” masked man was creepy (paraphrasing here), but we have clearly seen him talking to Jeff as well... so he isn’t that creeped out. I don’t recall seeing him in these little group “dishings” like I have Ben, but somebody can correct me here.

This “better editing” of JP reminds me a little of the Chris L. versus Roberto business last year… both were concerned about Kasey doing something harmful to himself, but we only heard Chris make the unicorn cracks. Roberto did rag a bit on “Weatherman” but was also seen consoling him when he was upset. Backtracking to Jillian’s season, another F1, Ed, had his call-out from the window to Wes deleted from preview to show… they may have left his drunk scenes in “Men Tell All”, but earlier in the season, he was edited as one of her “good boys”.

My favorite scene with Ben on the last show was his observing Nick dance with Ashley. We already saw his talent in this area. Ashley herself commented on testing the guys’ abilities to move on the group date (without... oddly… JP): “If he can’t dance and he tries, I think it’s very cute, but if he can dance, you know what that means: good times on the dance floor…” (Quick check: no dance comments with Ben at the alphabet board, but for JP: I'm not opposed to it but I don't necessarily "like" it. I have always wanted to learn to salsa.)

Fun useless information…

How Ashley’s boys did at their second rose ceremony:
Constantine: I will (2nd one to get it after stubborn West)
Ryan: Absolutely (drink to absolutely!)
Ames: Gladly
JP: That’s what I’m talking about! Absolutely (drink to absolutely!)
Ben: Phew… I was sweatin’ there. I will.

Looks like somebody is gonna get lucky during the Amazing Week of Dates planned for next week…
It was an absolutely unbelievable night! (drink to absolutely!)

How Ashley’s boys describe their “journey” in preview voiceovers:
Ames: There is no more romantic landscape than Thailand.
Ben F: It feels good to be on the path to love.
Constantine: The way I feel with Ashley, I just haven’t felt that way before with anybody else.
Ryan P: I hope to finally find love in the blue waters of Fiji.
JP: Fiji would be the perfect ending to my love story. My only fear is getting hurt again.
JP: Every time we see each other, it just gets better and better and better.
JP: Any doubts that I had before? Gone!
JP: The chemistry is beyond picking up. It’s exploding.
JP: If you can’t find romance in this kind of environment, you’re hopeless. (really curious when this line was recorded)
