I don't think the order they step out of the limo is designed for anything other than an entertaining and well balanced show. Let's say the first 10 are mask guy, ballet tickets, kiss on the lips, dental floss, several who are clever, a couple who make her go hmmmm. The next 10 are nervous and dart in the house quickly unable to finesse the meet and greet. That would not be good. They mix up the order to space out the fun vs uncomfortalbe. IMO

Bloomers (or anyone else that remembers past seasons)
Do you remember the 1 on 1 time for the F2 or f3 contestants in the 1st couple of episodes for Jillian / Ali / Jake and Brads seasons ?
Did their F2 get 1 on 1 time shown or were the interactions hidden.
I know Reid got very little (f3 for jillian) but other than that I cannot remember. Did Ed get any in episode 2 ?
It will be interesting to see who gets shown screen time in episode 2 from our F4 next week. Perhaps that could be some sort of clue?

Generally speaking in the seasons you've mentioned they have been a part of the recent crop where the F$ are highlighted and have 1-on1 time shown in the premiere episode. Now when it comes to 1-on-1 time on the actual dates in the first few dating episodes it varies. Soem F2's, like Chris L , don't get dates 'til 4 episode or later depending on whether they are travelng out of LA. ED was the F! and he got a date with Jill while they wweree still in LA. I believe it was episode 3 because I know his first date was a group date where they had to race to get a chance to be on the actual date and Wes actually won. Reid like Ryan P this season got his first date very late in episode 5. He however, did have SQT on group dates before that, the western movie date and snowmobile date in Canada. SO, it varies based on the F2/F3's own storyline(for examole Tenley(F2) needing SQT to tell Jake baout her divorce) and if there is a villain who takes up episode time that TPTB feel is more important than showing F2/F3' s SQT in early episodes like Bentley/Wes/Vienna, etc.

Jack Benny Fan here, but being a bit “coy”… actually, the reason the initials are being used is because I had to log on in order to read anything here and wasn’t initially sure if I could keep the same name. Not much to comment here… you folks have already gone through the material with a very fine comb. Yet, a few things to toss out there that may or may not have been discussed already (haven’t gone through all of the threads yet)...
Looks like all of the rumored four per RS are well “under the radar”, especially Ames who was practically MIA after his initial introductions and subject to very few face-shots in the rose ceremony for episode #1. (Needless-to-say, I don’t have much confidence in his “position” here.)
Has it been discussed yet that JP was denied a PI during his Ashley time that first episode? The casual viewer didn’t see him talk about her with his stuck-on ID flash, stating where he’s from, how old he is and what he “does”. It was only seen briefly at limo time (during that very, very curious ATFR Journey moment). At least three nonspoiler board posts I’ve read elsewhere simply call him “that guy who doesn’t want to be called Cupcake”. Already… but it is still too early to tell… he appears to be set up as one of those who the lead goes after, but may not be certain if “(s)he will love me back”.
Ben F. is a little like him with his “guarded” persona and one Ash will need to “dig into”, but the two “fear of getting hurt again” comments from JP stick out rather alarmingly.
It is not surprising that at least two key dates of JP’s are timed close to key Bentley incidents. She is already “vulnerable” with low esteem and, since they canned the LA sky walking and bungee jumping this season (so it appears), the producers probably needed other things (like Bentley and comic roasts) to increase either bonding or drama with a pegged contender.
If for nothing else, the editors at least have enough “fogscreen” to use in previews, in addition to Ryan P’s comeback later and all of the action in Asia. For too many seasons to count, it has been all-too-blatant how the Drama is used to cover up what is really happening. What folks like me were slower to realize is that footage of something less dramatic, like Ali’s developing relationship with Chris L., could also be used as “fogscreen”.
While it is obvious that they deleted his “best for last” reference out of his limo introduction (thanks to the editing switch), they made sure his “props” comment was left in. In fact, it seemed more pronounced in the aired show than the TV Grapevine preview. Is this one of those notorious “red herrings” aimed at fooling us? Here is the issue: the Average Viewer will not catch such a remark… just those who analyze the show from top to bottom. Which audience, in the long run, are the producers more concerned with?
In a bizarre way, her reactions to each “prop” fits each deliverers’ “standing” per this forum’s speculation… she drank the wine and cooed in orgasmic excitement (yup, we will all try it out of curiosity), thought the dental floss was very cute and hardly even looked at her ballet ticket. They sure made a point of showing Ames carry HIS into the house. (On the plus side, she was impressed by Ames’ tie, something JP forgot to wear... or was told not to by his “managers”.) It remains to be seen what she will do with JP’s “props”: his smile and whatever else he brought with him… (I’ll leave that up to your own imaginations.)
They did an excellent job with Ben F. in the first show, sticking him after Me First Frankie-esque Ryan P. while blending him among the “nice husbands-to-be” types. He certainly fits the Survivor Sandra/Fabio type of F1… we see him, we hear him, we don’t think a lot about him at this stage. His call out early in the rose ceremony kept his reaction faceshots to a minimum, yet he is viewed everywhere with the other guys... no effort is made to have somebody block our view of him.
Yet, JP repositioned in his cocktail meeting was still downright Pure Genius… Tim slurs over his “water” (hee hee hee… yeah, wuter), Tim snores, Tim gets coaxed into the Paddy Wagon, Jeff gets his Phantom Balcony scene, Jeff talks to Ashley about his mask, THEN insert Cupcake Time with no PI, followed by Big Bad Bentley. We all know this wasn’t “real” time, just “reality tv” time (cue in early steal away shot as two others watch).

So happy you're here JBF!! You know I'm a big fan!!
Nice post as always and lots to think about! I like the point that JP didn't have a PI after his 1:1. I've noticed that we never "know" the F1 as much as the F2, which includes the F2 having more PIs and act as narrator of the season. I think that the reason is two-fold probably. So we get more attached to the F2 (new lead) and so that we can doubt/wonder if the F1 really fell for the lead.
Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

And it sets them up nicely to be the next lead - even though Chris declined and Chantal found a b/f they were definitley in line for the job. danceround

F1s have typically been the narrators - F2s being the narrator pretty much started with Chris.
