To show there's no accounting for taste, I don't see how Desiree couldn't think Drew is the best looking of the bunch. *shrugs* But then again, people get better looking/worse looking as one gets to know them, and I'm sure she considers her F1 the best looking of the bunch and quite possibly the best looking man in the universe now. And I know next to nothing about any of the guys beyond their pictures. But yeah, Drew is hot. I can see the physical appeal of all the f4 guys, actually.

So screencaps prove the LCDs are Drew and Chris? Interesting.

I saw a quote from Fleiss early this season about the weirdness of how the end played out, maybe in an EW podcast? Here's the quote:

All I can say is you will be shocked by how this ends. It doesn’t make sense in some ways. It comes out of left field in other ways. But it’s the weirdest ending we’ve ever had, that’s for sure. I don’t know that Desiree is happy with it, or the guys are happy with it, but it sure is interesting to watch.

From what I've gathered from reading here, Desiree made her feelings for Brooks obvious in her early blogs on People during the season, and has also been shown declaring him the one for her on the show? And the show has made much hay about whether Brooks is on the same page as Desiree? So if Brooks isn't on an LCD, it's likely an producer-prompted exit for him at some point soon. Maybe producers played on his reservations and pushing all the right/wrong buttons. They're quite good at that, after all. Or maybe they threatened him that he wouldn't be F1 unless he left or something like that. TPTB are very good at taking little things they do through their psychological profiling and turning them into storylines (remember JP's jealousy being turned into a storyline?). Whatever it is, I have difficulty imagining it wasn't engineered. Doesn't mean it doesn't reflect some kernel of truth (and skepticism on TPTB's part) but definitely not as big as has been made out.

It could be that Desiree was allowed her obvious F1 in exchange for having to endure his leaving and then the confusion that comes with his return. When you're the lead, you are required to give the producers a show, and there's always tradeoffs. Ashley Hebert's price for the obviousness of her JP love was the early Bentley edit. Ali was allowed to let Chris L go early as a reward for enduring being dumped by Frank.

The weirdness/not making sense/left field/not sure about whether Desiree and the guys are happy with how things played out fits the following scenarios connected to Brooks's return IMO.

1) Brooks loses his FD, LCD, and doesn't meet the family because he withdraws. But, despite the FDs and LCDs, Desiree can't go through with choosing Drew and Chris (expect some time where Desiree sobs about leaving this journey with shattered dreams), and then, magically, Brooks realizes his mistake, returns, and he & Desiree wind up together. The legitimacy of the relationship has been built up during the season, but the tough sell is that Brooks will have proposed without having met Desiree's family and will have lost some recent time with Desiree, plus he has to prove he's not a flake for having left in the first place. Desiree and Brooks wouldn't be happy because of the missed time, the doesn't make sense/left field ending will be because people might not get why she'd go with a guy who left and came back instead of one who's been there for her the whole time, and the rest of the guys wouldn't be happy because she led them on and ended up with a guy who had left but was allowed to come back. But all is well now. This is not reflected in Life & Style's story, but then again, L&S's presentation reads as more vague and disconnected than usual this year and you could probably make the argument that the guy who proposed is not one of the guys discussed in the LCD presentation.

2) Brooks leaves at F3, and returns on FRC day a la Reid, making it an even tougher day for Desiree when she's ready to choose (and does choose) somebody else. The tough sell is she's expected to have moved on in 2 dates. The weirdness will either be Desiree dropping the guy she'd been all about until he left, or him coming back messing with her head a la Jillian when Reid returned. Desiree and her F1 wouldn't be happy about Brooks being allowed to come back, and Brooks wouldn't be happy about being encouraged to come back only to be rejected. But all is well now. In this scenario, the F1 is likely Drew IMO.

One other thing I remembered is, unlike the Ashley H Life & Style article, which mentioned that Ashley was getting ready to move to the city where her F1 lived, etc., there is no indication in the article of Desiree and her F1 planning their future together, just quotes about Desiree being confident in her decision and she & her F1 being happy now.

I don't get why it wouldn't mention how the Final 3 guy left. All I know, is whoever does the inscribed 'this is forever' ring is Final 2 guy.

HAHA cfck those 2 scenarios make sense so it's so confusing but i still think that Brooks is final 1 because you can't go from i want a proposal from Brooks to Drew or Chris is the love of my life in two weeks, Des would be a fool to do that and she's not.

Right and that's why I think the cover is basically saying it's either Brooks or Drew that's Final 1.

Life & Style only refers to a final 2 meeting Desiree's family. The LCDs appear to be swimming with stingrays one day, and walking on Antigua's Devil's Bridge on another. There were no paparazzi pics of LCDs or the rose ceremony but the article says Desiree and her F1 stayed at the Verandah Resort & Spa Antigua after the FRC before going to their respective homes.

The F3 guys are pictured with Desiree in close-up inside scenes that I assume are from earlier in the season. All 3 pictures are on one page. Brooks gets the picture on the left, running the full length of the page, while Drew gets the top half of the right side of the page and Chris gets the bottom half of the right side of the page. Positive quotes on Desiree's relationship with all 3 as captions. The quote on Brooks is from an anonymous insider, the quote on Chris is from CH, and I don't remember who the quote from Drew comes from, but I don't think it's an anonymous insider. The caption on Drew ends with a question of whether he has the spice that Desiree seeks.

I don't know how this all fits in with your sleuthing, but I don't feel like there's a whole lot in the article that's too helpful with clues. But I agree with those who say the cover heavily implies Brooks & Drew are the F2. The arrangement of the pictures inside does seem to imply that Brooks is F1, but maybe people who look more closely will be able to make an argument about the right side pictures of Drew and Chris being wider than the left side picture of Brooks to compensate for the Desiree/Brooks picture being full length.

There isn't much to add to the Desiree and her F1 are happy, been meeting up once a week secretly, and she's confident she made the right decision stuff that's already online.

Also: In Touch has an interview with Chris Harrison about his own personal life, that includes a page where he talks about Desiree's relationship with the F4 guys. Pictures are arranged in the following order: Brooks, Zak, Drew, Chris. CH has positive quotes on each. He says Brooks & Desiree have their own language, and she's totally fallen for him. I don't remember what he says about Zak (didn't read it that carefully since he's already out, but I think it had something to do with him making her laugh). CH says of Drew that Desiree says he's the best looking guy in the bunch and the best kisser, but she also knows he'd make a great husband and father. CH says of Chris S and Desiree that they're like an old married couple but they also have great chemistry and are very sexual (OK?).

I'd be surprised about In Touch running a positive Bach/ette story because it's normally about trolling the lead/F1 as a punishment to the franchise for its arrangement with Life & Style. But this is in the context of a Chris Harrison interview (he talks about the kind of woman he'd like to date and says he'd love a woman who combines the personalities of Trisha, Ashley, and Jillian, because they are all so down to earth), so that's why the slant is positive.

Thank you! My immediate reaction is that the date doesn't involve horses, so is the horse date with Drew the Fantasy Date? Where is the Devil's Bridge?

There is only one clue to me from the article, but it was already stated from 'All'WetPaint...the Final 1's ring. It is exactly the same.

This analysis would fit with the 2-part finale and moving the MTA, no matter who the ultimate F1 is at the ATFR.  None of the F3 could be at the MTA, but they also may need to move part of the MTP/LCD airing into the week before in order to have the TV time to deal with all of those shenanigans at the FRC (or on that day)?  Haven't we gotten previews of other shows at the end of even FD episodes before and they just cut the Bach episode short early?  They could make the time, especially if there is one less night portion of a FD to do.

If the ultimate drama is the ending then no amount of LCD making out is going to give them better ratings (or previews).

I'll have to go back and reread but I think it was something along the lines of him being a charismatic, charming, or likable (one of those words) person so it wasn't a surprise Desiree fell for him. The only question mark in any of the captions was in the Drew caption.

I'm facepalming here because I just remembered one detail in the L&S article that could possibly be a clue. Or not, because I don't know when the Neil Lane sessions usually happen. Anyway, the Life & Style article claims the F1 proposed with a ring he had picked out earlier that same day.

By the way, the article does talk about Desiree's tough journey but if I remember right it was nothing new (she'd wanted to go home, etc.) and it was before taking time for the LCDs and having the F2 meet her family.
