You guy are obviously not reading stories online, if you consider Jef's "moral integrity" one of his strongest/ best suits... But it's kinda off-topic here;

I can't help, but add--I totally agree.
Based on this link the state of Utah ranks 42nd in US population density and 34th in population. Somehow I would have difficulty seeing this as a positive selling point to prospective advertisers.

I won't de-rail this thread, but for a brief comment since you address my previous post. I actually read most all the online stories. They are just that. Stories. The job of these writers is to write and sell copy. They do it to leads, F1's, couples and other participants every season. One day they love a person, the next day they hate them. They take a shred of truth and build a story around it. If they don't do it, they cease to exist. It's is their job. It is up to the reader to discern the fact and the fiction. A close look at the writing patterns of Wetpaint and US weekly will show this to be the case.
In Jef's situation, I will simply say that I personally know several people who have not only met him, but have spent time with him. One has dated him. They all have the same impressions and use similar language to describe him. They refer to him as real, genuine, kind, soft-spoken, a perfect gentleman, and genuinely interested in people. I prefer to believe real people in real situations with him over the rantings of immature college girls who are upset he didn't date them or the writings of yellow journalists who get paid to write copy regardless of fact checking or truth.
I'll stop with that. If you wish to discuss it in the right place or by PM, I am happy to do so. I respect some opinions are different. I appreciate that we can respectfully disagree.

I come from the old school of where there is smoke there is fire. A few too many college coeds for my taste. I might feel a bit differently if he got a real job with a legit company instead of gallivanting around the world on some fan's frequent flier miles. JMHO.

I met him and observed him all evening one night and those are words I'd use to describe him as well.

Call me crazy. but I'd love to see Brad 3. And I believe it would be ratings gold.Northstargirl wrote:BarbB222 wrote:canyonvue wrote:You guys make this sound like it's some horrific torture camp they go on. I don't believe they do half the stuff you suggest. But seriously, how do you even enjoy this show when you believe all this? Just a question.
I enjoy watching love or a relationship bloom under some of these conditions. I was mainly referring to Molly and Jason's podcast and how she was told to do something she didn't want to and was told if she didn't , she'd be eliminated. Her words . But we know Jason and Molly are part of their family. It is interesting to hear what's done behind the scenes. But, I still enjoy watching what happens. I also remember a contestant from Brad2 where she actually walked into a room and saw the storyboard. Those things educate us about how this show is run but I also feel they can evolve as they see successful couples emerge. In their own demented way, producers can add more integrity to what they want to accomplish. I think the key is the couple presenting themselves honestly so that after the show they kinda know who they picked and not a Jeckyll and Hyde.
I am attaching this here because I want to expound a little on Jason and Molly's podcast and their comments. They were quite straight forward and clear in saying that producers want the lead to find love, that is their goal. They gave suggestions for how the formula could be changed to increass the odds of the lead finding love that lasts longer by allowing more time with the lead and more "real" people and fewer type-cast participants to fill roles as the crazy, the emotionally unavailable, the fame-seekers, the gimmick-driven. They talked about the various manipulations they experienced.
In my observations of the evolution of the franchise, having watched each season, I believe it was about the time of Deanna's season with Jason, the character roles dod not exist. In Jason's season as lead, there were no characters that stand out in my immediate recollection. In subsequent season's however, the formula seemed to change, adapting the character roles as the norm for casting. It was a formula that worked for a while, ratings-wise. We saw Jillian with Dave Good, Juan, Wes and Jake. The formula change was off and running. Next Jake has Vienna and Ali pitted against one another, The Ali had Rated R with his crutches and girlfriend and Kasey guard and protect her heart. Then Chris L said no way and Brad 2.0 and his therapist pretty much provided enough drama, but they added Michelle Money and the vampire girl. After Brad, Ashley had Bentley and Sean had Tierra. So far Des has had Brian, Ben and James. The formula if getting old, viewers are disengaging, some aging out of the demographic. They need to attract new younger viewers and establish a new formula to keep it fresh and viewers tuning in.
To me, that is why Jason and Molly's recommendations make sense. They have been there and know the challenges they had and subsequently had to overcome. With a change in formula, there is an increased chance of long(er)-term relationship success and improved credibility for the process. It would drive viewership up.
That is also why, IMO, Jef is the perfect combination of edge, wit, moral integrity and recognition to draw in new viewers, a fresh participant pool and still keep the current viewers. Fans and haters alike would tune in, and that translates to impoved ratings. TPTB would be foolish not to make every effort to get him to sign on the dotted line.
Anything or one else would be same old, same old and viewership will stagnate or drop even more. These are my opinions of course and may not be for everyone so please don't take me to task!

I know one viewer who won't be watching if Jef is the bachelor! This girl right here. I would never be able to take him serious.

Fleiss as quoted in Wikipedia. On March 15, 2010 The Bachelorette creator Mike Fleiss appeared on 20/20 to confess that he developed the show's contestants into characters that catered to his audience's tastes, and that they "need [their] fair share of villains every season."[6] Fleiss has come under fire for admitting that The Bachelor has less to do with reality than it does making good television.
Villains and drama go way back in this show, especially the Bachelor. Some earlier examples are Trish in Jesse's, Trisha (?) & Jayne in Byron's. Andrew's & Travis Stork's F2s were the drama people in their seasons.
Totally disagree on either Jef or Brad 3 :shocked!: making good seasons. I don't even think Fleiss would want Jef because of the way he hogged the limelight while he was supposed to be hiding his f1 status. I wouldn't tune in for either of them although doubt Brad would be interested.

I'm crossing my fingers for Zak, I'd love Chris or Drew also, but Zak has spunk that none of the recently past bachelors have had.
