Not ready to propose sounds like it's going to be lucas if he does come back because he clearly stated he was just not ready to move on with her after the bentley reveal.

A guy saying "I don't know if I'm ready to propose right now" could have been said in response to a producer's question about proposing at any time during the season (like night one, after the first 1-on-1 date, at the mid-point, etc.)

Also, they wanted there to be some doubt about Roberto proposing but he said afterward they tried to make it look that way (with clever editing) but he knew all along that's how it would end and he never had a doubt.

I think one way they get doubting or questioning statements is to get the guys to talk about their last serious relationship and why it ended or why he didn't propose to his ex. The know the questions to ask to get the soundbites they can use any way they desire.
