You're welcome. ; ) It just really amazed me at how many of your thoughts were the same as mine were/are. I don't see that very often. I know exactly what you mean about being a bit reticent, altho you don't sound a bit crazy. LOL. Just well in-tuned with what's really going on. : )

I agree Ben needs to shut the door on the Angela thing. Her "gift" should be for a man with the same commitment! I can say guys, after 2 very long days @ work, this single TX girl is wondering if Ben wants someone about 8 yrs older than him!!! I would LOVE to stay home!!!

stg73, she seems to be saying that there is a dearth of eligible bachelors in Dallas. Is that true? I would have guessed the contrary. My single friends in London, NYC, San Fran, LA, Chicago and Boston all complain about the dating scene (NYC seems to be the worst). I thought Dallas would be different. Does the land of hope even exist? One of my friends is considering moving from NYC to Dallas for work and we were encouraging her to do so. She is scheduled for a preliminary visit and intends to survey the social scene. Should she lower her expectations?

alondon She probably is referring to them in that manner because they have a reputation for "thinking they are better than others". I don't live in Dallas, but have lots of relatives there(and I visit Dallas pretty frequently).  I think it's not bad to encourage your friend to move there. From what I hear the dating seen is pretty good in Dallas. As for expectations, I think dating is just hard these days! As a person who came out of a 14 yr relationship 8 yrs ago, I am here to tell you things have changed in the dating world. It's hard to know where to meet quality men especially the older you get. Online dating sites are full of creeps, usually men you meet at bars have no interest in long term relationships. In some ways I understand why people go on these dating shows....

Thanks stg73, that sounds encouraging. My friend has been invited to join a group of male doctors in a medical practice in Dallas. Some of them came to NYC to meet with her. She thought they were very nice and they really liked her. They've offered to show her around Dallas when she is there in a couple of weeks. She is a quintessential New Yorker, who is quite clinical in her approach (and very lovely). It should be interesting to find out what she thinks.

We are very excited as none of us has been to Texas yet (but we've been to North Dakota in winter, analyze that). My assignment for her is to introduce herself to a tall, handsome, very well educated, successful Texas gentleman with cowboy tendencies (critical). Easy!
